I use regular conditioner to co wash. I finger detangle, then wide tooth comb, and finally a fine tooth comb to make sure all knots are out. I have fine strands and always have SSKs

I follow the same weekly wash schedule as you. It keeps those knots and matting at bay lol While I'm just getting use to the concept of cowashing and it has helped tremendously with my transition to natural I do agree 100% that sticking with cowash conditioners vs regular conditioner reduces the feel of build up on the hair.

I love you...thanks for all u do...my mom always told us to detangle from the ends first, and she was raised in the depression era. ...goes to show us how long we have tried to promote proper hair care, huh!? Also, I do not like to finger detangle either. it pulls more on the hair. just get knots out and wide tooth comb. New for me: use only co-wash products, not conditioner. Can't wait to try my new routines!

Co-washing actually comes from using a regular conditioner on your hair.. Co-washing conditioners are pretty new products, so you can def use regular conditioners to co-wash your hair, but that part is up to you.

Is it bad to use regular conditioner for a cowash ?
@Mrsmarjoo8 жыл бұрын
It's Alyssa Here it's not that is bad but it definitely wouldn't wash your hair and cleanse your scalp. Co-washing is the action of washing your hair with a conditioner that has the same properties than a shampoo except that it also moisturizes and nourishes your hair.
