Amen, Tim I'm agreeing with you. I grew up around horses and my dad had his favorite develop a cancer on his eyelid. Dad was a physician, but he knew God and believed in prayer. We prayed and that cancer fell off within a week. We gotta love that beagle. 🤠🤠

I'm so thankful for being able to make it to Lehman's to see y'all. I went with my grandpa who was a Vietnam Navy veteran. December 21st 2023 several months after hearing you speak, grandpa was called to heaven. He greatly enjoyed the event and all the time we spent traveling to go see my daughter who is three years old. Grandpa was thankful for the recognition you gave to all service men and women. When he was in the service it wasn't appropriated like it is today. Thank you Kent, Shan, and the four legged friends for the videos and especially to you Kent, Shan, Lehman's general store and the Lord above for a wonderful day on your book tour last year. It's a wonderful memory of spending time with my grandpa who I deeply miss . God bless and I'll see y'all down the memory trail.

Safety Advisory: You should take the fowl out of the water BEFORE marking the level on the Dutch oven. If you mark the level with the bird in the water then fill to that level with oil, you will have more oil than you had water, and when you put the bird into the oil you could overflow the oven, especially if you’re cooking a larger bird than a Cornish game hen.

I just said a little prayer for the Beag while standing outside on my front stoop. I'm hoping he'll recover. I say that because lots of people are praying for the Beag, I know God shares our love for our animal friends, and He answers prayers. Peeps, a budgie I brought home last May after she was fledged, was sick for two weeks, which just about broke my heart. So I fervently prayed for her. Now she's a feisty "Birdie With Attitude", and I'm totally grateful! BTW, thank you for all those great recipes, and for all the hugs!

I’m a vegetarian, but I cook for a family of omnivores, and every recipe I’ve made from you has been extremely well received. I like the balance of flavors you use, and the cooking methods and ingredients are just so satisfying. I’ll be making this fried chicken when the kids are home from college for spring break. Your blooming onion is sublime and is often requested for special celebrations, along with your tres leches cake. My favorite is your cowboy beans; I skip the ham hock and use some liquid smoke and aji chili powder instead, and they are sublime.

mark the liquid level AFTER you remove the chicken/game hen/whatever your'e frying. if you mark to the fill line with the meat in the water then fill liquid to that point, it will rise even higher once you put the meat in & possibly spill or bubble over
