Thank you for taking us along in your woods! I really love a walk in the woods. We live in the country and have 7 acres of yard and open fields, but our 3 acres of woods is at the back and calls to me. I think that the trees make God's cathedral. We have paths and have cut wood back there for 25 years. But I like a walk and a look anytime! I hope that this busy season will find you and your family well and happy!

Coming to you from northwest Pennsylvania where we have over three feet of snow and everything is shut down, so your video is a welcome distraction from being closed in. Thanks for all the great tips for decorating. I got the tree up and will be doing some of the home decor starting today. Wish me luck getting it done! Enjoyed your video and as always, have a wonderful week and enjoy preparing for the Christmas holiday .

I definitely missed you last Sunday morning! I figured, you were very busy with the holidays.Noticing, your arrangements, using Pineapples and fruit. I remember, years back, getting out my tall ladder, and adorning the top of my front door trim, outside, with a real pineapple, and apples w/ greenery. The neighbors,I think ,thought I was a little crazy. As we have lived in our New England Saltbox now,for 43 years. Thank you for another calming, creative video.🥰🎄🎄🎄🦃

Happy Dec 1st . I love Tasha Tudor . One of my most favorite children’s Christmas books ( and my grandsons’s as well ) is the book ~ An Early American Christmas. By Tomie dePaola . He tells the story of how the early settlers in New England , didn’t celebrate Christmas like we do today . “Tomie dePaola imagines what it might have been like for a German family, with its rich Christmas traditions from 'the old country,' to move to a small New England town that shunned the holiday. From making bayberry candles to handcrafting 'hearts of man' and other decorations to cutting down a tree, 'the Christmas family' joyously prepares for Christmas." ( from his publisher’s description) The book is charming and Tomie’s illustrations are wonderful. I still read it every Christmas and keep it in my basket of Christmas books in the guest bathroom. It’s a beautiful book 📕 and wonderful for growing imaginations.

I love the natural decorations. I planted a holly bush just so I can take cuttings to decorate for Christmas! I’ve been a fan of Tasha Tudor since I was very young. I have a couple of her books including “Take Joy”, The Dolls Christmas” and “ Snow Before Christmas”, where one of the characters is named Bethany. I always loved that name so we named our daughter Bethany! I have ADHD so sometimes decorating for Christmas overwhelms me. I’ve decided to make things simple this year, and I think natural decor really makes a big statement without a lot of fuss. Looking forward to seeing what else you have to share! By the way, I was so excited to open my decorations and see the decor items I received in my Christmas box last year!

I loved your ideas about using natural elements to decorate. I must take a walk in the woods nearby to see what treasures I can find. What a special person your 3rd grade teacher was to give you the nativity set. Such a wonderful idea to make you feel special and bring back memories every year when you bring it out to display. The Blue Jay feather was exquisite. We have lots of Blue Jays here but I've never found a feather. What a prize you found!

Patricia, thank you for sharing. I too have a nativity set that has been in my family for over 100 years. My father started the tradition when I was a child, to take one piece of straw from our Church's nativity set each Christmas, bring it home and place it in our antique creche. I still keep those original fragments of straw and add another piece each year. Kudos to family traditions and values! Robert.

Lovely, LOVELY episode - thank you! Can’t wait to see what becomes of the birch bark. When I was young, in Western PA, my mom would take me out to gather princess pine to decorate for Christmas. In the fall, she collected teasels and opened, empty milkweed pods, which she fashioned into “angels” for the tree by glueing the teasel as the head to the upside-down pods as the wings. Sometimes she’d apply a metallic spray paint to make them fancy. ✨ Thanks for bringing up that memory!!!❤

Linda, thank you for 31:47 minutes of joy and peace with this beautiful video. Your DIY craft ideas, use of nature, and vintage Christmas ideas for decorating are the best. I never heard of placing a Nativity scene in the hearth of a fireplace before, but it makes perfect sense to me now. If the hearth was the center of a home in Colonial times; what a perfect location to place the home of Our Lord's birthplace, in the heart of the home. You have the gift of appreciating the simple gifts that bring nature and families together in celebrating Christmas; overlooking what has been "commercialized" and valuing what is "creative and meaningful". Thank you for being the "gift" that you are to your viewers. God bless your "kindred spirit", Robert.

Ohh Linda, I so enjoyed your video today, you featured all of the natural things I love, I discovered Tasha Tudor years ago and was instantly drawn to her unique and beautiful yet simple way of living, I think we must all have a string that connects us to each other when something immediately appeals to us, thank you for showing us how to make an easy bow they are my nemesis too, I returned home from hospital yesterday having had my gallbladder removed and when I was settled in my OWN comfortable bed the first thing I did was scroll to find your latest video, I was not disappointed , it most definately is the Natural elements of Christmas decorations that appeals to me , I have been collecting seedpods, pinecones, interesting twigs and natural additions like cinnamon sticks in bundles, star anise ,I dried orange slices and more by chance than skill they dried to perfection with great colour, I previously liked coloured lights on my trees when my 3 children were small, now I only use the soft white twinkle lights, everywhere, holly and ivy always features in my green arrangements , in Melbourne Australia we celebrate Christmas in the summer time so keeping the greenery fresh is always a challenge especially the wreaths on the outer doors but the plus side is the beautiful fresh flowers in bloom , being a Scottish girl my memories of Christmas are all centred around a cold traditional snowy Christmas, we had to be creative to decorate, I remember tying up mistletoe over the doorways with pretty ribbon and making paper chains and stars, your presentations always brings back those memories to me, although yours are far more richly adorned, so thank you once again Linda, you are a little Christmas gem in your own right, with love to you and yours xx Suzannah

I literally became obsessed with birch bark in 2004 when contemplating revamping the interior of a small mountain cabin we bought. First I was looking at "birch" wallpaper until I realized I could order large sheets of the real thing. Due to it's cost I used it more for accents than what I initially thought I would. Made my day to find other's who see it's rustic beauty.
