I've created a Colonial style New England Christmas theme in our kitchen this year and I wanted to share how I did it and what inspired me. I love how it looks in our antique New England home.

I loved a Ethan Allen many years ago with their americana decor, so disappointed with them these past years with their ultra modern looks. Love all these inspirations. ❤️🎄enjoy! Love your honesty in your successes and failure, it’s so true this is how most of us rebels learn.

Your childhood cookie cutters look wonderful on the tree! And adding cloves to the orange slices must smell heavenly! When I was a child, we made dough ornaments in school, so when I was an adult and heard about gingerbread ones, I swore I would try them someday. That recipe looks easy to use - thanks for sharing it!

Easy recipe, but a bit messy on the hands when kneading. ;-). The cloves in the orange slice does smell heavenly!

Linda, I candied pears, made cinnamon gingerbread men, cut out paper stars, made rag ribbons, and gathered green. Much of my inspiration came from watching your videos. I’ve enjoyed every second, but the real satisfaction is admiring the results... thank you, Cindy K.

Your home is beyond gorgeous! Reminds me of the colonial home I grew up. So funny when you said you wondered why your gingerbread cookies didn't look like everybody else's. I used to wonder that about my sandwiches because my mom would use pumpernickel bread while everyone else's parents made their sandwiches with white. It is funny what we think of as kids and how we remember those things into adulthood.

I know what you're saying, when you're just not in the mood to start decorating, once you start it's a big job. It took me five full days to decorate our city condo and a long weekend to do our Lake House. I'm pooped, but with my feet up with a glass of wine and a newly groomed Finn with his head resting on my lap, I'm happy and content. Love the idea of a kitchen tree, maybe l could do that yet....!!!!😳😊 Thanks for a great video 😊🍁

Love your new kitchen -and your Christmas decorations, especially the tree! I don’t think you need to add ribbon to the ornaments- looks very colonial and lovely just the way it is! You’ve inspired me to do a kitchen tree- and I can use my collection of whale cookie cutters (we live at the beach). Thankyou and Happy First Day of Advent! 🎄🎄

Just beautiful Linda.....I’m very nostalgic so I just love the cookie cutters from your childhood . And yes I wouldn’t put the colored cookie cutters Out because they didn’t match the others..😂😂😂. Can you say OCD. I’m in love with the fruit theme, the tree looks amazing and I love what you did to your hutch. The view from you kitchen window is just everything. Your home is so welcoming and cozy. Looking forward to more Thank you 🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! I love that you wear your Dad's coat. My Dad passed 37 years ago and I kept his favorite jacket. I still have it. When my daughters were young we made the cinnamon ornaments. I too found out the plastic wrap is needed! Looking forward to your whole house tour.

I’ll do the same this year but I haven’t started decorating in the kitchen just yet. I hope to post my home tour next week. I love the orange slices on your tree & the applesauce ornaments. I am totally with you on the cookie cutters! Lol! I would have done the same thing. The kitchen tree is beautiful. My Mum and I have been watching you since last Christmas - it’s nice to come full circle. 😊 We enjoy your videos. We are from Massachusetts (Lunenburg) originally (now in southern NH) so it’s always fun when you go out and about to Massachusetts stores and sites. And of course we can relate to the New England decor. We’ve been here since the 1630s too (well, not us - our family. Ha ha!). So also enjoy when you talk about your ancestors/family. Thank you for this channel and sharing your beautiful home and creations with us

Beautiful. I was thinking the same thing, maybe I should put all my cookie cutters in a jar or jars on the counter, but then what would I do with the plastic ones🤣. Have you ever made a Williamsburg apple cone centerpiece? It would look very fitting in your colonial Christmas decor. The forms can still be found around online, but I’m sure you could replicate with a foam cone.

I really enjoy your thrifting videos. I think we are indeed kindred sprits and not too distant neighbors as I regularly shop most of the stores you mention. You have even highlighted items i also own! ...(and i am a patron of christine mconnel. Who is amazing if your viewers need another endorsement:)) I moved frequently as s child and grew up restoring historic homes. I think our mothers were similar! I was also a dealer in the northwest and am now redoing several houses in SW NH. I have been here about 15 years and have to say consignment shops are much more prevalent here than in the west, where thrift stores dominate. Its a different type of bargain hunting, but still fun. Maybe our paths will cross one day! Thx for introducing me to some new stores in the area. Happy holidays and joyous remodeling!
