My mom did too and now that she has passed, not one person in the family wants anything so I've kept a few small things that I have no room for (lol) and I'm selling/donating the rest. (I'm not moving far away though.) I just don't have the space to hang onto it for future generations, unfortunately.

The decision to expand the sorry girls and promote rachel and rochelle was not only a good business decision for legacy/schedulinh purposes, but also an incredible creative decision. So many fresh ideas and new skills added to the team (or I suppose promoted). Love the expansion!

wow I feel like I learned so much from this! the steel wool solution was so good. would love to see two tallies of the spending--one like you currently have with the "free" supplies from the office and one that estimates the true cost based on how much of each supply you used. would be a lot of work to add up but really informative for DIYers who don't have a huge supply collection!

I redid 700sq ft of my home’s wood floors 😮‍💨 and used the steel wood oxidation process as my stain and LOVED the results. Even though I shopped around for a stain that wouldnt change the finish much, it was kind of inevitable, however, still just about the result I wanted and I saved so much money!

@@ravenclaw2898What is happening with the Jews right now? I'm only aware of one terrorist attack that occurred after 75 years of Israel's occupation of Palestine and imprisoning them for generations. Palestine is being denied food, water, and medicine as they are being bombed currently. As we speak. Was there another attack on Israel I'm not aware of? Is Israel in need of humanitarian efforts because they have no access to medical care?

Great tip about vinegar and wire wool...and waxing the leaves! Had tried standing ivy branches in glycerin for couple weeks, then making a wreath with the leaves. They kept their colour for years! Eventually they did turn brown but were still pliable for another few years after that.

Honestly I've been following The Sorry Girls for years I mean YEARS. Took me awhile to warm up to Rachael and everyone else beyond Kelsey & Becky. Even though Rachael's style isn't usually my own I really appreciate all the effort, and determination not only they but everyone else on the channel puts in. I really like that the whole channel really explored more extensive, advanced DIYs. I definitely see and sense the shift overall since the new warehouse tbh. I'm here for it, I'm glad Rachael is warming up to me. I definitely have my own struggles with change especially with something I find so grounding as a stress reliever and outlet of entertainment. Keep at it ya'll. Also video idea: Have a ornament exchange with the whole team. You make a list of a few things like christmas style, any specific things you love about the holidays or Christmas. Ect ect and blind grab the name of who you have the ornament for. Much love, Anna Sisko from Chesapeake, Virginia.

Fantastic flip and so happy about the donation going to doctors without borders! I am a little surprised by the sponsorship by Tineco, because I understand that one of the values of the SG team is low environmental impact. When I first learned about the cordless Tineco I was a big fan, but then realized that the battery life is 2-3 years and I couldn't seem to find any information about replacement batteries. I contacted the company to ask about this and their reply was that it is not possible to replace the battery. So the whole machine will need to be thrown away after 3 years- what?! This was as of last year; maybe they have changed something since then; I do hope so.

Love the leaves! I will have to try that. I have a special leaf in a glass heart frame that I might give the treatment to, but it's about 2 years old after it fell. It was a leaf that fell on me at a block party on my childhood block after moving across the country to be closer to family because remote work became a long-term possibility. It was like the trees were welcoming me home.

The cabinet turned out very well. When you were applying the wax, it reminded me of a job I had working for an antique dealer (a loooong time ago). She asked me to wax a pine cabinet. The only thing I had ever waxed before was a car, so like you, I took a cloth and applied a generous amount of wax to the surface in circular motions. She told me right off! I was suppose to use 0000 grit steel wool, a small amount of wax, and rub in the direction of the grain. Once the wax was applied, it just needed a quick polish with a clean cloth. I've used wax this way ever since.

Before sanding a piece, any furniture polish, wax, oil, dirt, etc can be removed with a degreaser (like TSP) beforehand so it won't clog/gum up the sandpaper and you'll use so much less of it. Plus, sanding will go so much faster. Great makeover and the $ going to charity is the icing on the cake.

She's Canadian too and she has some great tips on how to strip and scrape and sand and refinish. She always recommends the Circa 1850 stripper and from the videos it looks like it's very effective.
