Just a hint about bringing in pine cones from the outdoors. You would be wise to boil them in water first to void off getting any insects or unwanted Critters coming into your home. You will be amazed at what comes out. Hope this helps! Love what you have done!❤❤

Excellent advice about focussing on what we HAVE done, not what we Haven't (yet!) accomplished. This really comes into play as you get older---I used to do 5 hours of labor on my house/garden/whatever & at the end feel a satisfying sort of tiredness. Now, it's an hour, 1/2 hour & I'm exhausted & achy, feeling frustrated b/c it's so hard to complete tasks (I have a little paint job to finish the kitchen from about 4 YEARS ago---it's the toe-kick & I can't crawl on the floor any more!). But it's a good reminder to focus on what I did do & be grateful that I have the means to hire someone to do the rest!!

Myrtle topiaries are very unforgiving,if not kept watered! They are my pride and joy. I have 8 very healthy ones. Some I’ve had 7+ years,which is a little unusual. May I suggest you take one of the lids to a good hardware store or possibly a kitchen store and see if they have "rubber replacement rings" that will fit either the lid or the base and serve as a seal. Just a thought.

You're my hero! I, too, have a "nose" for thrifted finds, and I've managed to furnish a home very nicely that way. When I saw the Federal mirror in the living room, I had to giggle because I recently acquired an almost identical mirror...Miller Studio plasterware...for about $20. It's in my grandsons' room completing a naval hero theme. I can't decide whether to paint it or leave as is.
