Although I don’t have issues with humidifier on my Cpap (DS2 horrible design of humidifier). This is a great option. My first Cpap back in June 2010 was a Fisher&Paykel and had the same type of humidifier on it which is the best design ever. Easy to fill and see where your water level is in the chamber. I got one of these when my integral humidifier on my Respironics failed… They work GREAT!!! Living in Alaska, in the winter our indoor air can get DRY!! I do wish that the reservoirs were larger volume though, because I, on most nights enjoy the luxury of getting 8-9 hours of sleep a night. Sometimes runs out on me. Also, i got a standalone heated tubing to get rid of almost all rain-out... It does add an extra wall plug to the equation however. And… the icing on the cake?!?! THESE ARE MANUFACTURED IN NEW ZEALAND !!!!! HIGH QUALITY!! For once, not suffering with “as flimsy and cheap as possible” CHINESE manufacturing!!! It’s about time !!!

Ive only had mine about week ad its worked flawlessly. It holds 3 liters of water which lasts me about 5 days (I live in a very dry climate)its very quiet so it doesn't disturb my sleep. The only criticism i have is that the instructions could be a little better. When setting mine up there is a piece that fits into a rail along the edge of the tank that came off and it hasn't wanted to go all the way into place since. also there is nothing in the instructions on where to place the pump which just lays at the bottom of the tank.@@CPAPmyway

What a coincidence! This is almost exactly the same setup I came up with when my Air Sense 10 was running out of water during the night, except that I was unnecessarily filling both reservoirs. Deficient CPAP humidification is the only way I ever catch a cold anymore, and it's miserable. Unfortunately, I can't get my sleep doctor to prescribe this workaround because it's not officially sanctioned.

It is unfortunate we have to go this route but at least there is an option. If you use the 3B medical Hybernite heated tube with a hose cover then you can avoid rainout as well. I live in Vegas and it is dry. My CPAP(resmed) runs out nightly. I just moved here and tried humidifying the room when I lived in Southern California(which is also dry). The issue is that I can either turn the humidity down to 3-4 and wake up stuffed up and congested for the next two hours or I can turn it up to 7-8 and and not have to worry about the congestion. Waking up(as I have had to do) in the middle of the night to refill the water defeats the purpose of having a CPAP in the first place. I think I will be looking into a 3d printing option to extend the length of the water chamber to increase it's volume. They should be making larger ones for dryer climates any way.

Yes, That would be nice, and it seems like a very simple resolution.

It's stunning that the manufacturers of CPAP machines put such tiny reservoirs as 'standard equipment' on their machines. I am greatly disappointed that Resmed does not have a work-around for their ClimateLine heated tubing & integrated humidifier system. This forces end users to guess what settings will 'work' instead of relying on the automatic heated tubing/humidifier setting. Sorry, but switching to 'standard' (non-heated) tubing defeats the purpose of the anti-rainout solution IMHO. Thanks for this video. Airsense 11.

That 150 water tank has an aluminum bottom. The 350 model costs a bit more but it has a stainless steel bottom. There is a concern that heating aluminum may cause Alzheimer's Just think folks should know. Those tanks you are showing on your video DO NOT hold a night's water supply for the humidifer. Cspring is the only water supply machine that I am aware of and it works flawly no matter how high you have you humidifer it will keep refilling the water tank all night. Check the cspring every morning to see if you need to put more water in it and you are good to go. You do need to clean the machine now and then.

Unfortunately not. Adding a heated tube may be good if you haven't already. The only thing that can be done outside of that would be adding a room humidifier to your bedroom, or lowering the humidity setting on the CPAP.

This is a fix BUT...Why should a CPAP user have to go through all the trouble AND expense of buying this extra humidifier when the problem could easily be solved if the CPAP manufacturers would make the original units LARGER. @joelbyrum Жыл бұрын
Unfortunately this is NOT the way to fix this issue. This will cause other problems. There’s only 2 ways water loss is a problem. #1 is “air leaks”. #2 is “dehydration”. You have to ask the question, “where is the water going?”. If you can eliminate air leaking from the mask, you eliminate the problem. Unless the person is dehydrated. In that case, the water is being absorbed by the body. If you stay hydrated, you eliminate the problem. These are the only 2 ways to fix the problem entirely.

Big Mistake !!!! I tried to solve this problem some months ago by running an ultrasonic cool mist humidifier in the room. It wasn't that close to the machine, but still the CPAP sucked up that fine white powder (is it minerals?), unbeknownst to me, and funneled it into my lungs. At first I thought I was catching a virus, then a few days later I woke up with my lungs burning like crazy -- for hours. That's when I discovered what had happened. I wouldn't be surprised if it did permanent damage.

It is a humidifier to use in-line with a CPAP machine. Yes, invented at a time when CPAP machines generally did NOT have their own chamber. That said, it could be called a contraption, but it is not insane. If you need it, it is a necessity. If you don't need it, be thankful. I use the HC360 chamber, and use 19 to 20 ounces per night.

@@80cardcolumn For me, the 19oz in the HC360 and the almost 13oz in the S9 CPAP machine is much more than double ANY CPAP has built in. I don't run out of water. My HC150 heater has worked for me since 1999. It could fail at any time. For the hoses, you are right. Before bed, you need to fill two chambers, and move hoses. You are awake, so not a problem. I want to sleep though the night, and my setup works for me. BEST would be for the manufactures to have a larger chamber option. Don't hold your breath... haha.

This setup does require a lot of room. Why not just make a larger capacity tank to fit the same machine tank position? You could also drill a hole in the lid of the OEM tank with a reservoir on top with a drop pipe just off the bottom. When the water reaches that low level it automatically refills the tank as it empties. The heated hose must be preserved as it is important for proper operation. Too many parts in this kit. Another electrical cable to contend with. I would have to give this a thumbs down.
