I thought it was ok because I’m not getting rain out and I personally like the moisture as it makes my sleep quite comfortable. I would try hooking up the CPAP tube and running the CPAP for a bit without any water in the water chamber. This dry air blowing through should dry it out pretty quick. If the unit has an Auto Off feature then you may want to put a small piece of paper towel in the end to restrict the air flow slightly and trick the CPAP into continual running. Might make your Compliance reports look a little funny. ;)

After washing and hanging my hose I noticed the water seems to cling inside the tube... literally a week or two... any suggestions on how to dry them?
@CPAPmyway4 жыл бұрын
You can drape the tube over a doorway so that gravity will help. Or you can attach the tube to your CPAP and run the CPAP without water in the Humidifier chamber for a few minutes. This usually helps as well.

I don't have a humidifier and I still get loads of excess water in the tube and at the inlet at the back. So I have no humidity to turn down. Resmed 150 lumis is my machine

That is baffling. I am not sure how you would get excess condensation without adding humidity.

It just adds enough humidity to the air that you are breathing to make sure that your airways don't dry out.

@CPAPmyway3 жыл бұрын
You shold definitely decrease the humidity setting on the CPAP until that humidity issue is gone. You can add a heated tube, but will have to consider the oxygen bleed in if you do. They make specific heated tubes for oxygen bleed in.

Ohmygoodness. Thank you!!! This is very very helpful. I'm still just a little bit confused about the difference between lowering the humidity setting and increasing the temp. I've had no issues until this past week or so, when I started waking up with a very wet mask and nose area, and sometimes getting splattered in my face when I take the mask off. I have been using my ResMed CPAP machine since the beginning of March. It has been on the Auto settings from the beginning. I have been afraid to mess with the settings, but I think I do need to change something now. I'm just not clear on if I should change the humidity or the temp. Thank you in advance for any help you can give me
@CPAPmyway Жыл бұрын
You should adjust the tube temp in accordance with the humidity setting usually. However if you have rainout/water in the tube, then you may just want to increase the tube temp slightly to help that issue.

Not sure if this is related, but I'm jut trying to reach out to anybody. My machine fell off the nightstand yesterday and now it seems like no air is going through the hose, despite the power being on and it sounds like it's working. I feel no air in the hose when I take it off the mask and the only air I feel, is my own exhaled air out of the exhalation port instead of the machine air. I took the hose and the water chamber in and out. I have also unplugged the machine. I am getting replacement supposed being shipped on schedule, but that was prior to the incident. Is my machine broken?
@CPAPmyway3 жыл бұрын
Well hopefully it is not broken. Did any of the water from the humidifier get back inside the CPAP at all?
@SLCoolJ2K33 жыл бұрын
@@CPAPmyway, maybe. I went thru all sorts of troubleshooting through things I read and videos like yours. I even joined some support groups on social media. I talked to my sleep center moments ago. I'm scheduled for a machine evaluation tomorrow and I'm potentially getting a loaner device tomorrow.

@@CPAPmyway Update: Went to my sleep center. They had my machine for a week. I am picking it up tomorrow morning. I had a loaner in the meantime. Seems like the machine was fine. Yeh. In that case you may want to remove the tube and drape it over a doorway.

we can set it to AUTO (3:11) but what does that mean though? doesn't mean condensation will AUTOMATICALLY not form in the tube b'cuz we tried it :)

The Auto setting is built to calculate the rooms temp and humidity so that the proper amount of humidity can be added. it doesn't work for everyone. Some users will still have to make manual adjustments to get their perfect setting

Help please!!! 😥 My partner has been coughing since using this machine (heated tube one). It's a very SERIOUS cough that will make him vomit and nearly pass out in the morning. The cough continues throughout the day but not as bad as the morning. I've gone to the specialist we bought this from, doctors have given him breathing tests and puffers galore but they can't seem to figure it out. Now, he was not cleaning it properly for a the first year. He didn't even know it had a filter. We've only been together 5 months and it has gotten better because I'm forcing him to do something about it. I’ve been doing all the research, cleaning & Journaling of every change or medication to try & rule things out but I REALLY think it's from the machine. Doctors have no idea what it is. I don't know if he's even telling them about the cpap. The company we bought it from has no idea. We've gotten ride of the ozone cleaner which apparently is not fda approved and as upset he is about how much he's spent on that machine, that alone seems to have helped a bit but, still I'm scared I'm going to lose him to this darn coughing!!! Any & all advice would be GREATLY appreciated!!!!!! Thank you!!

Wow! That does not sound fun. Unfortunately, I do not think that I would be able to help much outside of recommending proper maintenance on the CPAP. This sounds like something that would be best addressed by a Specialist Dr. Sorry I can't be of more help.

@CPAPmyway3 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately that may not be easily fixed. The only thing that you can try is to reduce the humidity setting on the CPAP and see if you can resolve the condensation issue without drying yourself out. If you feel dry after reducing the humidity level then you will have to turn it back up.

Yeah, hanging the tubing over a door to dry out just isn't practical at 3AM. I am one who had their AMAZING Dream Station replaced by a MASSIVELY INFERIOR RESmart Auto & all the thing does is gurgle & spit water all night long, even at the lowest humidity - A problem I never ONCE experienced with 4 years of using the Dream Station. (To the point that I thought the machine was toast right out of the box... I had no idea cpap/bipap machines do this.) Doesn't help that changing RESmart settings is difficult AND won't allow for a stronger ramp level. Wondering if anyone knows where to purchase a modified (replaced filter) Dream Machine?
