I called ResMed and the rep told me that if you use a cleaning machine instead of the recommended warm soap & water to clean your CPAP machine, it voids the warranty. These machines are NOT FDA approved. Convenient yes- FDA approved no.

The product works very well, BUT the bag is a pain to use. I have arthritis in my hands, the zipper needs to have a loop to grab onto to pull. The bag is cumbersome! Why not have a zippered container like Dreameister, which sits on a nightstand neatly and isn’t an eyesore. Please ditch the awkward to use bag!

I followed all your instructions until the point where I turned on the slim8. Just like what you said the fan image appeared with the 60 minutes. It started the countdown from 59 - that’s when I left it and came back after 54 minutes. But to my amazement, instead of seeing 4 minutes left, the reading was 74 and counting done. So while I was away, the unit must have started counting from 120. When I saw it reach 60, I turned it off. What could have happened. The result was different from what you said.

They have changed the countdown since this video was published. It now ventilates after the initial cleaning cycle. You should let is run until it turns itself off.

Should the water chamber be dismantled before putting in the bag? When I hand wash mine I remove the rubber seal to wash and dry separated than the reservoir.

hello .. i have an airsense 11 with heated tubing ..do i need an extra adapter to connect it to the back to ensure proper cleaning of the tubing ? thx !

Just talked with my sister in law who tried this product. Here are her comments: "I did have the Sleep 8 and just returned it yesterday. It ruined my cushion on the mask and the smell after sanitizing made me nauseous. I followed the directions to the T. It also was a 3 hour process. I'm back to washing hose and mask with warm antibacterial soap and vinegar." I really wanted to try this product but not sure I should now after getting this information.

I actually came on here to see if there were any issues with smell after cleaning. I cleaned mine over the weekend and I’m having a hard time with the smell it left in my mask.

@@Lydia01944 We have heard that from some users. More often than not, it is something that goes away after a while. Additionally, it is helpful to run the CPAP for a few minutes after cleaning and before use. It kind of flushes out that smell from what we have heard.

Good Question. They sterilize, but they do kill mold and mildew that can cause buildups and much more significant issues. They will not scrub anything off the equipment, but keeping the equipment sterile is the biggest concern.

I've got a ResMed AirMini which I travel with and which I think is contaminated; I have replaced supplies and filter and still have serious sinus issues after using the CPAP. Can I clean the CPAP itself with an ozone cleaner? It is unusable as is.

We did get a bad batch a while back. I would replace the one that you have. I would bet that a new one would resolve this issue.

It will run for 60 minutes. Once that 60 minutes is up the cpap equipment is ready for use.

Can you just remind me how often you need to clean your hose, mask, water resevoir? I was told once a week. Nasal pillows wiped with a baby wipe every day. Does that seem correct?

The manufacturers suggests washing it all daily. I would say that as long as you are keeping the nose piece wiped down and emptying the water chamber in the morning. You can get away with twice a week. But that is just my opinion. It is what my wife does and she has never had any issues.

Why is this $249? Other such type cleaners run anywhere from $50-$99. Do I really want to pay $15 every 4 months for their bag? Other units similar to this have a 2 year warranty. Why doesn’t this one have a two year warranty? Can you run it with a heated hose?

It has been one of our most reliable units by far and works wonderfully. Definitely worth more than the knockoff cheapos out there. It works fine with a heated hose without any additional adapters.

The ozone will break down the memory foam on the AirTouch F20. So you should only use mask wipes on the memory foam style masks.

The heated tube with the prongs should go on just fine. It doesn't have to be a perfect air-tight fit.

How do you know when to throw away the bag?

If you are using it daily then you need to dispose of it every 3 months. If you use it every other day it would stand to reason that the bag should go for 6 months to me. However, if you want to be safe, then you should replace it every 3 months.

It should be replaced every 3 months if you are using it daily. There is no notification that let's you know that it has gone bad. So it is best to replace it on the recommended frequency.

I have a wave ozone sterilizer but wanted to get a better bag, is the outer connection a standard hosing connection or is it a different size so it only works with the Sleep8? Thanks for your help.

I have one of these but the o3 smell is so overwhelming. It's like a mix of concentrated pool chlorine and sour potatoes. I can't bring myself to use this every day. Also the inside of my rubber headgear still gets slimy even with using this every 3 or 4 days. So i am forced to have to break it down and use old fashion soap and water to clean.

@@toms8223 Ozone can break down plastic over a LONG period of time. But the plastic portions of the mask and tubing are designed to be replaced long before that should happen.
