I subscribe seconds into watching your video you are car designer we have a similar background. I bought my CR to print some of my cars . Now looking for a CR-10 5.

Sweet! Do you work for a car company now? Connect with me on Linkedin(link on banner) I've been printing all sorts of custom parts. At the moment, I'm SLA printing a wide body kit for test fitting. It's awesome to see an entire quarter panel printed. Can't wait to announce the final body kit.

@@kevinr6236 I’m not working for a car company designing cars as yet. It’s definitely a childhood dream that I’m trying to achieve. Wonderful speed sketching you have talent.👍🏾 I will definitely connect with you thanks.

@@gtaeuc6828 well keep at it! Its definitely obtainable and an awesome industry that is changing drastically as we speak. I started building car audio show cars in the 90s and now working on autonomous cars. Learning to design and model in 3D has been my biggest advantage. In the next few months I hope to take this channel deeper into my process, bringing concepts to life with some crazy builds that I have been working on.

I use Slic3r, Cura, and Simplify 3D (S3D). I have been meaning to try Ideamaker at some point. My advice is to wait on buying S3D until you run into a model that needs. S3D is worth the cost if and only if you need it for a particular model. I find that I tend to prefer the Slic3r infill and support options for most of my models, especially those with long supported surfaces (like the bottom of a car model perhaps). S3D however, especially with custom supports, was the only way I was able to print a Daniel Craig as James Bond model. So basically, if you run into a model where you find yourself cursing at the screen and yelling "I just want to put support right THERE!", don't hesitate to drop the cash for S3D.

I received a cr10s a couple days ago, so I'm also new to this, but if the ringing is displayed on the Y face of the cube is a problem with the x axis, since the ringing occurs when you have a sudden change in depth which mean an X axis movement. In my case I don't have much ringing of the y axis (it's big, heavy and has more friction so oscillations dissappear faster and aren't as noticeable) but in the x axis (Y face of the cube) I have a lot of ringing. I've heard you could improve it with better belts that are less flexible (if you don't want to reduce speeds/acceleration) but it will be a couple of weeks before I can import some belts to test it. I haven't tested it, but increasing friction should also be beneficial, as long as it's not loading the ☓ stepper too much.

Are you in the Facebook group for this printer? Lots of keen minds there. It could be your acceleration, jerk or other settings too
@kevinr62366 жыл бұрын
Thanks. The Facebook page has been super useful. I'm pretty sure Simplify3D does not have specific Acceleration and Jerk settings. When I was messing with those settings in Cura, I was able to get better results but the settings alone did not completely eliminate the ghosting. Rock on! Thanks for watching!

I have the CR-10 (original) and the CR-10S On the first, we couldn't save anything via the controller. It had to be done with gcode (Scripts tab in S3D) On the CR-10S, you can make changes and save it to the firmware. I *think* you can on that printer.

Have you found a Jerk and Acceleration setting that is working for you?

Where Nerdy is Cool! Unfortunately with the stock firmware you can't store the settings in the eeprom. But you can always override them in the start g-code of your slicer of choice.

Stop using plain Jane masking tape. Get some 3M blue painters tape. You will immediately notice the night & day difference.

First impressions was limited to what was in the box. Switched to Blue tape after the initial testing. Thanks for the tip!
