YOU JUST BLEW MY MINDDDDD you are so set on that scene with emma and malcom i love it XD after sebastian i've learned to trust simon when he says "never trust the bad guy's bad until you find a body" i'm convinced malcom is alive the only thing that sets me off about rafael lightwood-bane is that i'm pretty sure he's hispanic? he's lived his life in buenos aires since before the dark war and the canon fanart has him with brown skin. with sebastian being pale af and shadowhunters with faerie blood having blonde hair and pale skin, i don't think i'm sold on him being seb&seelie queens child but i am POSITIVE his birth parents are going to come into play at some point and it'll be wiiiiiiiilddddd i think it's AMAZING that clary didn't say yes! truthfully, i hope she says no or at least not right now. i think it's way more important for cassie to show that women don't have to be engaged at such a young age and can be independent of their significant other. as much as clary loves jace, she's running an institute, she still has less training than most shadowhunters her age, i think her and jace deserve to just chill and enjoy each other's company without even more complications XD at least that's the way i viewed it as soon as that scene happened! my current theories: 1. anselm nightshade plays a bigger role than anyone thinks because clary's grandmother's maiden name was nightshade and cassie clare didn't give a downworler a shadowhunter name for no reason 2. i have high hopes that we'll find something out about johnny rook that makes him something other than a shadowhunter, because making him just another herondale is waaayyy to easy for me. 1. emma says in the beginning "people think johnny is a warlock, but he's not. he's something else." 2. marks???? (this goes for kit as well) if he was a real shadowhunter of the clave, he would have gotten runes, but to our current knowledge, kit and johnny don't have any. otherwise, johnny would have had to cover them for all of his life, working in the shadow market and what not or else everyone would know he's a shadowhunter. since tessa's father was a demon, she has warlock powers but i can't remember what happens to the child of two shadowhunters who don't receive marks (i think it's mentioned in cp2 possibly?? idk if they're just mundanes or if something else happens) but we ALSO don't know who kit's mother is and she may not be a mundane/shadowhunter/downworlder so i am hopeful this turns into something more than just another extension of the herondale family hahahha IDK IM THINKING SO MANY THINGS AND I CANNOT WAIT TO FIND OUT WHAT HAPPENS SORRY FOR THE CRAZY LONG COMMENT

I love the nightshade theory.Thats makes it so interesting. I never looked deep into the double names when I was reading. Well if they really are apart of the lost herondale lineage both Rooks were brought up as mundanes therefore they shouldn't have any runes. But, remember clary didn't have runes at first either so I think Kit will be able to apply runes. Idk I suspect Kit has demon blood in him. Again we don't know what his mother may be so it raises suspicion. Yeah Malcolm definitely isn't dead. I refuse to believe he died unless the body turns up. True... Clary's a strong independent women and Jace has to except that :p Btw Julians gonna lose his shit real fast. The foreshadowing proves it. All we might be spot on about would be that somehow the lord of shadows links to James Herondale since he had the ability to turn into a shadow. I just wanna know already. I'm literally going to make a huge family tree because it's gotten so large its hard to keep track.

emmmabooks I think children of unmarked shadowhunters might be born stillborn? Or maybe that's just demons/shadowhunter offspring? But, at the same time I feel like if it were the case, Catrina would have done some warlocky magic so that the original Lost Herondale could carry on and have a family and normal life

Karla Villanueva yep it's Shadowhunter-demon offspring because most Shadowhunters don't get marks until 12! I'm not sure what happens if they enter teenagehood/adulthood without marks

I don't think that the parabati connection was severed at the ending of Lady Midnight because Will described it in Clockwork Princess as a string being snapped. I think they would've felt that immediately and realized it. The time travel storyline would be so much fun, I would totally read that!!

Ayla Clarke Christine...Tessa cannot where runes. After the climax of Clockwork Princess, the people at the London institute tried to put a rune on Tessa, and it just sank into her skin. She couldn't have a parabatai.

One theory that I have that I'm surprised that I haven't heard from anyone else is that Arthur is evil/ working with Malcolm. The reason I think this is because Lady Midnight was kinda based on/ revolving around the poem Annabel Lee and one of the lines in the poem Annabel Lee is "Neither the angels in Heaven above nor the demons down under the sea could ever dissever my soul from the soul of the beautiful Annabel Lee." BUT in chapter 19 of Lady Midnight (page 447 in my book, though it could be different in other editions)when Julian is having a flashback to the time when he found Arthur had cut his wrists because he was hearing voices, and Julian asked him who's voices he was hearing, he responded "the angels in Heaven above and the demons down under the sea." THAT IS AN EXACT QUOTE FROM THE POEM ANNABEL LEE THAT IS NOT A COINCIDENCE AND NO ONE CAN TELL ME OTHERWISE. I don't know what Arthur's deal is but I do not believe for a second that he is the innocent looney Uncle who just sits in the attic all day.

OMG some of these theories are so interesting and plausible! Cassandra Clare is a genius, I hope she has some mad crap planned. I'm definitely more excited for Lord of Shadows now. I hope that she doesn't do yet another miscommunication plot though. We had it with Jace and Clary, we had it with Will and the curse, Emma better tell Julian about the parabatai thing soon or I'll be really pissed off because miscommunication is kind of a cheap plot device and I don't want Cassie to not know how to write anything else bc she's queen and can do better. Ok I think I may need to go and reread the whole Shadowhunter Chronicles because I'm sure there are SO MANY clues. I'm dying to find out what the significance of London is, I want to know why they go there...ahhhhh!!!

So about the theory about Malcolm in a way possessing one of the Blackthorn children and one of the children had actually died, I don't think Annabel actually was woken because Blackthorn blood was shed. In the short epilogue, I think it's pointing out that the blood of the person who loved her was what had woken her from her death, mixed with some magic of the ocean. idk what that is

I read once that Cortana could be able to cut the parabatai bond between Emma and Julian because in chapter 23 Emma's mother said (and I quote) "a blade made by Wayland the Smith can cut anything" So, maybe it will be like the scene where Clary stabbed Jace with the angelical sword to released him from Sebastian.

Clary and Jace.......I'm freaking out There's so many theories like, is she pregnant? And they're too young, she's not ready, or she's worried that something in the future may affect the marriage (like say a miscarriage or a war like Valentine) But some of my theories are, is she worried that the reason why (which is not true, but it's a theory) he wants to marry her is because that one day he will die because Shadowhunters die young, she's scared that one day (that will never happen, it's just a theory) Jace and Clary would end up like Maryse and Robert And possibly, she's dreading, maybe that one day they have a child there could be a possibility that her child will be a boy, with blonde hair green eyes and would look exactly what Jonathan would have been if he was not Sebastian, or Clary cant get pregnant and she knows that Jace wants to marry her (obviously) and want to start a family with her but she can't and she's d r e a d i n g her answer because she might not get pregnant (There could be a plot twist there though, because she could get pregnant but she thinks she can't do she doesn't a birth control rune, and she ends up pregnant......I kinda want that, element of surprise) There's a lot of theories, what do you guys think? Because I'm going crazy here, my precious baby's they deserve happiness it's not fair

My theory for the spilled Blackthorn blood is Dun Dun Dun Emma. She got cut at least once it the whole spuffle fight scene, and since shes parabatai with Julian I think she shares blood metaphorically with him and therefore Blackthorn blood.
