I just bought a Craftsman pressure washer with the same engine at an auction $50. It has a full tank of gas and the oil looks very dark, not sure if that’s okay or not, only seen vehicle oil, but I wanted to try to give it a tuneup before trying to start it. I don’t know where that hare-brain idea came from, but I am woman, let’s see if I can meow my way through this. Terrified but looks like a wonderfully detailed and thorough video! Wish me luck, please!

Mine is running a little rough after sitting for a few years. I didn't take the carburetor completely loose but I took off the bowl, cleaned it, replaced the fuel tank which was cracked, cleaned spark plug, installed new filter. But it still running a little rough. I sprayed what I could but I'm wondering if the carburetor still has some residue left inside it keeping it from running smoothly. And yes, the gas smelled of turpentine and was yellow. What are your suggestions?

Where do you change the oil for the water pump?
@dwwd1566 жыл бұрын
It's actually not a "air vane governor". The actual governor is mechanical, the linkage goes toward the other end of the engine. All that air vane does is control the choke through a thermostat attached to the muffler. Great vid.

I just bought the exact pressure washer. What would make gas pour out of the hose that connects to the back of the air filter housing? The gas line hooks to the carb. This other hose comes from who knows where, but pours gas out of it when I pour gas Into the tank.

I would add a fuel filter and a shut-off valve. Always remember that some carburetors have a special metal coating that prevents rusting. I would think twice about using harsh chemicals.

Good day I just came across this video. You know canadian tire sells a funnel or did, that will separate water from gas, it's tricky but it will keep fine dirt out. Thanks
@EliminatorPerformance5 жыл бұрын
Yes, water settles to the bottom so it's possible to suck the fuel out from the top. For the price of fuel, and labour if I had to redo my work, we just replace the fuel.

I have the same model and it's leaking a little water from the pump on the left side if your facing it.
@EliminatorPerformance6 жыл бұрын
If you live in an area where it gets cold in the winter, and didn't store it in a warm area, you may have a crack in the pump. Water inside will freeze and expand, and crack the aluminum or plastic housing.

I take it there's no fuel pump for this>? I picked the same washer up from a guy down the road said it needed a pump cause it didn't run did NOT specify.. Sooo I assumed it was a fuel pump maybe did some research and amazon said it needed this 808656 Mechanical Fuel Pump by Briggs & Stratton BUT now I'm thinking it needed a pressure washer pump and that cost way more. Stupid me for not realizing sooner... I am not mechanic savvy lol

getting water thru the SYSTEM but looks like the gun won't allow water thru it, how difficult is it to find one, and what do they run, as in cost? I own a Briggs and Stratton I own a troy bit 175cc 7.75hp 2700PSI engine year is built in 2013. thank you. looks like the GUN has about five philips screw heads in it, is it rebuildable?

Take the line apart and run some compressor air through it to make sure there's no clogs..Also, take off the end fitting if possible, if not, let the tip sit in some CLR over night to remove any calcium deposits! Hope this helps
@lecyalphamaids91346 жыл бұрын
[EDITED-I will take that tip off, and I have a air compressor so i will be using that for what you suggested, need to buy some CLR though, don't think i have any of that, i know what it though, also, the AIRFILTER is dirty, it is the spongy thing attached to the CARB, right? ALSO, i bought a new CARB for it, and this new one has an inline gas filter that the old one didn't have, so i will be adding that, thank you for all of your help, you are awesome.]

Got it, running and all, could not do it without you brother, hope ya don't mind me saying that. BRAND NEW CARB, after turning the water on, and trying to start it, it started and the GUN and tip all work fine, it is awesome feeling when that thing cranks, aint it? i think it is. got a new air filter also, and also an inline GAS FILTER, [that came with the new CARB. HEYA EVERYONE, i strongly say to you all, get a new CARB instead of trying to clean the old one, leave it be until you get it all going, it will be much easier, on your stress level and all, please believe me. Then after you get it all going then go after the old CARB if anything you'll have it when you need to deal with this issue again, just swap it all out then again clean the CARB. and don't forget the SPARK PLUG, if dirty, just get a clean new one, cost aint all that bad. good luck everyone, and please join this youtube VIDEO, i think he deserves your support, and an awesome big thank you to, Eliminator Performance for making that video and for helping me and all of us out here!
