Man I used to be homeless and my pawn broker was the only way I could get money when I was down and out. I got a job at a pizza place and worked full time there and put myself through college living in a little 2 room efficiency apartment, and now I am working in IT and I have been with the company over 20 years. I'm glad you are nice to everyone when you are on here. A lot of pawn brokers looked at me like I was scum and took me for a ride until I found one person who was very fair and honest. Keep up the good work, Peter!

There's always a stigma of each the Pawn shop owner and their employees depending as some are more personally owned run by a family then u get the Chain 1s now name wise obviously still can have good owners and employees. But the customer gets the drug addict or thief label the owner a predatorial ripoff Scumbag. AND those do apply too many people but it's not as prevlevant as some think as good Pawn shops that treat its customers well and fair get good word of mouth which is something unpriceable/invaluable and good customers treated well will always return to Pawn or sell something or make purchases and even in some cases because of treatment a person may take a little less or a Pawn broker give a little more because of good relationship. Some folks don't realize that Pawn Stars is so over the top unreal for tv purpose. That's why hardcore Pawn tho a production was way more real. The Pawn option still has alot of value for both parties snd isn't bad deal esp if you got no credit or bad. I've sold a few things and bought some things. Both always happy ending. Pawn shops really are still a backbone of some communities and I'm glad they exist. Your story is a good 1 to prove the stigmas and labels are just that.

Its crazy how just one person treating you with kindness and respect when you are struggling can really change things. I have a friend who picked me up from the airport, got me a job within 24 hours and drove me to work for a few weeks while I got on my feet when I got out of the Army with nothing but a bag of stuff and no where to go. It completely changed the trajectory of my life and made me finally wake up and stay off drugs. I still remember that first morning driving to the job and I got this feeling that a new chapter of my life has begun, it was like God threw me a rope.

To clarify about the VHS prices, when VHS was originally introduced the movie studios tried killing it by forcing the cassettes to be priced around $100 too. Hence rental stores, which would buy the expensive tapes and then charge to loan them out. It wouldn’t be until later when the studios saw that the demand was there, they opted in. Record companies pulled the same crap when musical cassettes were introduced.

My uncle had a laser disc collection similar to the one you acquired. All classic movies and movies from the 80s. About 400 discs in top notch condition! After he passed away in 1989, my parents stored the collection in an overly humid basement for about a decade. Bad news. Mold was NOT the problem, but LASER ROT (oxidation of the discs internally) was. It's not observable by looking at the surface of a disc. You have to play them to test if they will play each side completely and/or if there is more mild degradation. I'd sell in large batches to keep possible return haggles down, or at least to a limited number of buyers. I hope your collection is mostly rot free and is a success for you!

*Whistle won’t work unless you have a seal around it. Make a fist. Curl ur pinky around the whistle and blow in the other end of your fist. That’s also how you can share a joint without swapping spit*

Those presidents were made by Marx Co. I have seen Carter as the most recent pres, also I believe there was a set including a stand and Whitehouse. Love your videos, super cool pets and a super 😎store! Tom

I love your channel and watch while I work. As a mechanic I sell on ebay but what gets me is in all your videos people say "on ebay it sold for this or that." As a 15 year veteran of ebay it doesn't work as easy as people think. I've sat on stuff way below what sold for months and months. Love your vids!

I remember paying $79.99 for Raiders of the Lost Ark in VHS for my father in the late 70s. Crazy how times and formats have changed.

my experience is that the movies are damn hard to sell. However, music videos on laser disc are selling for money.

I like the way this guy treats his customers . U ever watch some of those other pawn shows . The older guy in Michigan with his son and daughter , how they treat black people... They make a joke out of their customers . This guy Peter seems humble .

You are talking about Hard Core Pawn.....and there has been documentaries about how that show was FAKE. I guess it is easy to fool rubes - who think it is real.....
