Dumbo Octopus or one that has alot of durable metal, it doesnt need to be all that well built to beat last rites when you have an inch wall of high quality steel

I would say that's more due to the angle of the armor rather than the quality. You can tell they're highly armored because they can keep dishing out hits to the point that Last Rites breaks down.

Hi Mr. Velocity, hope you don't mind another question. I'm going to build an aluminum frame for my 12 pound horizontal spinner, and wondered if you had advice on how thick to make the aluminum?

Because they competition is defined by weight class, a smaller robot can have much denser armor, allowing them to tank more hits. They also become harder to hit the smaller they are, and faster and more maneuverable.

Kevin Hjelden wat, this is tombstone, it's just that battlebots has the rights for the name tombstone and the bot goes under the name last rites in robo games

Actually, the modern Tombstone is based mostly on Last Rites. They're built by the same person but Tombstone is contractually tied to BattleBots. Last Rites is also a little lighter.
