We lived in Okinawa from 1985 to 1988, my husband was in the military. We lived in Makiminato area for almost 1 yrs an would walk to Naha to that area an it was always busy with people! So many that you could barely walk. I was very interested when I saw your vlogs on looking at what Okinawa looks like now. I don't recognize many places any more...

I'm so glad you happened to meet Hiro in your travels. What a happy coincidence! It was a joy to walk around with the two of you and get the benefit of Hiro's knowledge of local points of interest. I hope you two had a great visit off camera! As always, thanks for taking us with you, Shinichi.

I loved the walk through to pottery Street up to the restaurant that used to be a radio station. So pretty and full of history, just looking at the roof tiles was an amazing sight. Thank you sooooo much. This just makes me want to tour Japan even more, I feel homesick for a place I've never been and quite emotional. Thank you again.

So happy you had a quick walk through Tsuboya, one of my favorite areas to wander through! We actually ate at Nuchicafu, the restaurant you found at the end of your walk - very good! I hope you are able to find your new mug. There's a small shop called Yachi Moon that is maybe a bit more contemporary than the pottery store you stopped outside of (the one President Clinton went to). So envious - we would be there now if it weren't for COVID!

As a lover of octopus takoyaki looks absolutely succulent . What a quaint little spot to sit an enjoy wonderful food. Everything on the menu I would love to try . Such a beautiful place to visit in the near future . So nice to have met such a nice friend to walk with on your trip . He had so much knowledge of his surrounding he really made this video experience interesting. Looking forward to the next video with the pottery shops Shinichi thankyou 😎

I visited Hiroshima in the mid-90s and at that time, it seems the "signature" food there was takoyaki ... but now their "signature" food seems to be a variety of okonomiyaki...? Anyway, I want to make a certain kind of takoyaki where, instead of a chunk of tako in the middle, it's minced tako .... this is because well, I'm old, and I've joined a local sort of old folks' association called Yu-Ai-Kai which has, naturally, a lot of old people most of whom are older than me. And they often bring food to various things... well, takoyaki with a chunk of tako can be kinda hard to chew, and minced it might have better flavor too.

wow, is it really that warm in Japan in November? You guys are still wearing t-shirts. The temperature has gone down here in many parts of Canada and it started snowing a bit on Sunday. Time to put on the layers and snow-shoes.

Takoyaki Pan vs Aebleskiver Pan do they do the same job? could be a cool video
@lmaree200886

Two different pans. Takoyaki pan has rounder spaces and thicker steel or iron. Aebleskiver are flatter spaces to make 3D ovals.

@@lmaree200886 Aebleskiver aren't ovald they are like balls. At least the ones my wife makes. Besides it could be a fun experiment that's all

@@lukasbiktjrn4822 I have had both as I love Japanese food and Danish foods. The pans I have seen for aebleskiver are like a flattened ball not a perfect one like takoyaki. Maybe there’s a rounder pan used in Denmark? I know that some people have used automatic takoyaki machines to make cake pops and aebleskiver so you are right there!
