You know what's better at rock crawling than these tires? Drag slicks.

I think the foams that were hot-glued to plastic wheels crawled better than these.

I forgot how much I love the look of your Laser-she-turned-me-into-a-newt. I recently picked up a hw 8BL150 and their companion 4274 for my 6S Kraton exb and am just waiting for a day dry enough to take it out. There is actually some low speed control compared to the spektrum, which is wild because I think the new 8BL is just a gen 1 max8 and the spektrum is just a hobbywing, but it sure doesn't feel like a hobbywing 😂. I appreciate the joy you bring us on otherwise stressful days

The tires I have are the same ones that came factory on the Redcat ascent and I soaked them in Simple green 1 set for 1 hr and the other set for 2 hours and the 2hr set is definitely softer than the 1 hour set but I haven’t tried them yet

I feel combative replying to Your videos but I’m not. So while I don’t measure like you to I disassembled all my marksman tire foams and wheels after wheeling the salt river here in Az to squeeze out the water and see what’s inside. I was rather pleased how the fitment of the tires are to the OE wheels and ease. While I enjoy the looks of the vehicle and the cleanliness I have to be honest and say they failed math class like myself only to squeak by to graduate with enough credits. But the front end is embarrassing. Mine wheeled actually really nice with water in the mix sand etc. wheels speed was required at times. Changes made SE1200 gear reduction solved the annoying gear mesh is fixed by tightening the pinion and spur mesh. And I have a video of mine holding perfect drag brake on a piece of plywood. Maybe I’ll post something of it on my little channel i never post on 😂. Piece and blessings my friend love your education. Ps I can add and subtract now at 42 😅 jokes

The tires do drop right onto the stock beadlocks-- my guess is because if the tires were any harder, they'd be harder than the wheels.

Now that I’ve reached the end. I still haven’t gotten any beads free enough to see the insert. What do you do to bake off or otherwise remove glued on tires? I’ve been boiling tires for over an hour now.

Bob Smith Industries Un-Cure debonder (BSI161,) a heat gun, and a pair of thick gloves (I use welding gloves now.). I can get most factory-glued tires off in 3-5 minutes.
@michaellanghirt19909 ай бұрын
I use a steam cooker (Braun). The temperature to destroy the addhessive connection without destroying the tire is at 120°C to 140°C. With boiling water you only reach 100°C. 15 min in Steam atmosphere. Force them by trying to move them out of the ring-fit every five minutes. Once you get a loose Spot, you can use an Angle with more sheering. Stay calm and let physics slowly Break the chemics.
@CrawlerCanyon9 ай бұрын
@@michaellanghirt1990 That's not a bad method at all, but I lack the patience. Heat gun + Un-Cure takes a few minutes.

Are you testing tires, or rounded bricks? Imagine adding the full brass wheels... That Lasernut looks cool, I have to build something with parts I have laying around at some point that goes fast, I had the green 1/12 WlToys a couple years ago and it wasnt even good, but left me wanting a good fast rig. I have to choose between building a 6x6 or a go fast with those crap parts I have who knows where I nearly forgot. This tire gets 5th place (out of 12, not much to compare it with), and they dont come with foams (at least from the Redcat website)

You should try the tires that come stock on the Gen8 ( I think they are swampers ) They go everywhere the Canyon trails do and actually do better in the snow..lol

Featured in the close of this are both the M16 and a set of 2.2 CTs on the Lasernøøt, who is usually fitted with 2.2/3.0 Hyrax. Those tires were Quickviewed in February of 2023. They are completely riddled with cracks on the inner and outer sidewalls. Typical. Meanwhile, the Redcat M16s will outlast every other tire in the workshop. If they were DOT stamped, they'd be like Traction D, Treadwear 9,000+
@Doug_Morgan9 ай бұрын
@@CrawlerCanyon My 2.2 CT tires cease to amaze me with their performance even with the stock 2 stage foams. The downfall is I don't like the look of a 5.3" tall tire on my rigs, but credit due to what they are capable of.

seeing as these tires are ribbed and belted, it would seem you aren't using enough speed. Marksman Maverick run!!!!!! Just thought I'd throw this in, I have (4) 1/8th scale rigs, and STOCK the lightest comes in at just over 9.5lb. Heaviest stock is 13lb. 1 of them is built as a pre-runner on a 2 speed with a castle 1512 2650kv. So the fact that this tire is on a rig that weights what the Maverick weighs is just so absurd. Also, why would you put these turds on the Marksman?
@SoteroMurguia9 ай бұрын
No inserts and siping may be needed to make these useable on rocks. I’ve used these on the trail and they were fine. Nothing to write home about.
@CrawlerCanyon9 ай бұрын
Yeah, but we could drive trails on the wheels taken off of old Razor scooters. It takes time and effort to produce a tire this bad.

@CrawlerCanyon9 ай бұрын
Element Grabbers, Traxxas Canyon Trails, Vanquish Falken Wildpeaks, Gmade 1904s, Vanquish VXT2s, Traxxas Canyon RT, etc, etc are all RTR tires than have scored anywhere from decent to excellent. There's no reason for RTRs to come with trash tires, but even taking the "off-brands" (in the US) of Cross, Carisma, MST, etc into account, Redcat continues to supply the hands-down worst tires on the market. The 1.9/2.2 Canyon Trail is better at EVERYTHING than any Redcat tire out there.
