@@Em_Ligman yeah pretty much, every modification needs a certification from the manufacturer that it’s safe with the car, you could image what they would say about a completely different turbo :/ Hell, I can’t even install a blow off valve because of “air pollution”

my man why didnt u choose the rs290 turbo of rtmg ? i know is20 is better but that's too hard to fit... what should i do for my golf 7 1.4 tsi.. please help me.. i just want to get 100-200 (11-13 sec)

I haven't seen any performance numbers from the RTMG 290RS turbo. no 100-200kph times, no 0-60mph... I think maybe i've seen one dyno'd at like 240bhp I believe the TTE290 could actually make decent power as a bolt-on turbo as it is noticeably bigger than the RTMG 290RS.

We used the IS20 wastegate actuator that came with the IS20.

If I am correct your engine is the EA111 isn't it? That would mean you have the DQ200 transmission. I have the same components in my VW CC. How will your car handle the hp and nm? The DQ200 is limitted to 240nm

Yes, this is the 1.4 TSI EA211 CZCA engine with a 6-speed manual transmission. I do have another 1.4 TSI (122ps) EA111 Scirocco also with a 6-speed manual... I might make videos about it too in the future, but nothing planned for it right now. You can push those EA111 engines so far in terms of performance!

Stock intercooler for now to see how it gets on. Then we’ll put an intercooler on there and dyno it again to see if we’ve made any more power.

Hi I saw the modification you made on your 1.4 I wanted to ask you one thing, how many horsepower did you put out with the turbo? is it a hybrid? ?And did you change parts such as the clutch, strengthen the gearbox or engine? I have an audi a3 8v 1.4tfsi 150hp in stage 1+ with a few modifications such as the exhaust line, the air box, the coils and a sports catalyst. would like to put a hybrid turbo to get more horsepower but I'm afraid the engine won't hold up

We haven't finished this build just yet, I am expecting at least 270bhp on low-boost using this bigger turbo. The gearbox and engine internals should be okay (on low-boost) according to my tuner who has tested this IS20 turbo setup for years on a stock engine. However, the clutch I will most likely have to upgrade if it begins to slip when we go on a proper test-drive. This IS20 turbo should be safer to run than a hybrid setup from what I've heard as well. You don't need to run this turbo at silly PSI to make good power unlike the hybrid turbos.

ah, you read the original turbo from a golf gti, I had seen a similar installation at a tuner on a golf 7 1.4tsi, but there is nothing to adapt like the exhaust and nothing else, no? like the dimensions are not the same

Nice, is yours the twincharged 160bhp or the single turbo 122bhp 1.4? I could've gone for an RTMG 290RS hybrid turbo but I still haven't seen anybody dyno that setup or show any numbers of what it's capable of... whereas this IS20 swap for this engine has proven to make at least 270whp with correct tuning and the turbo used only set me back about £100

@@Em_Ligman mine is the pré face-lift, face-lifts are rare here, mine is the turbocharged 160hp manual 2010,right now has stage 1 with pops, supersprint resonator delete and back box and a kn filter, never dyno but it should be making around 215hp right now

I can 100x guarantee you that the engine will rather blow up, or the turbo will after a month, should have forged it first, and the guy has just frankenstined it together, doesnt sound like its running very healthy either, plus you need to get it mapped mate

Possible but unlikely. We aren’t the first people in the world to do this IS20 build, the guy tuning this car to stage 3 has tested this turbo setup for years with stock internals and he’s been fine. We need the downpipe doing, stage 3 tune and we’re good to go! Because of the stock engine internals, we will be on low-boost, probably just shy of 300bhp but I’ll find out soon when we get it on the dyno

@@Em_Ligman The only thing I have installed is a Cut Out Valve with a sport muffler and a KN filter. I plan to go stage 1 soon after I assure the motor is healthy and ready for a remap. I bought one of the cheapest Sciroccos in Greece and now I'm fixing the minor issues it has. The state that your Rocco is in right now, I think is the target I set for mine. 🔥

Insurance is dirt cheap, great mpg, we done all this work without having to take the engine out of the car. The IS20 turbo only cost around £100 to buy and we should hopefully make at least 270whp out of this setup.
