I'd go one step further. I'd go to HR and say "Janice is stalking me. She keeps taking pictures of me everywhere. What is the policy on sexual harassment?" Once you say sexual, that's it. That's a lawsuit in the mind of all HR.

That need a witness record & have a lawyer on set if it goes further if the boss not fully looking into it & plus why Janice there everytime OP taking breaks not working that's what got me that's my opinion

Or a HOSTILE working environment. Get it on the record that this employee is trying to get you fired. Incidentally complain that SHE is so obsessed with using her time to document your problems that she is necessarily neglecting her own job.

Last story. I like how NO ONE says anything about how Mike was “surprised” that she has a girlfriend and the fact that if OP did the same thing but with 2 girls we all know that the “gf” would be shrieking and yelling about how “you’re cheating on me!” The fact it was an afterthought and NO ONE else on volleyball is coming only 3 people? Story 1: Okay, Janice had better hope that they all live and work in a single-consent state, or something similar, because if she is taking pictures like that, that could be viewed as illicit surveillance.... which is very illegal. At the very least, this is a very hostile work environment and Janice should not be allowed to get away with this. The OP needs to take this very seriously, as should the boss. It's pretty clear that Janice is just trying to sabotage the OPs job here. OP needs to explore their options here, or just leave. A little less pay can suck, but its better then putting up with someone like Janice. Story 2: No way is the OP a jerk for wanting to go zero contact with this mother. She is beyond a jerk and i know i would want nothing to do with her either. Any woman who falsely accuses a man, especially their spouse, of abuse is a scumbag. I also hate it when they get cocky and arrogant claiming that the courts will immediately believe a woman on things. Its bad enough the police did that to the dad right away, but im glad the courts cleared his name. Its even worse that the mother didn't let those nice people adopt the half-sister. She clearly only thought about the money and not the well being of the half-sister at all. Its unfortunate that the OP believed the rotten mother here, but when you are young like that, the people you always believe, or what to believe, is your parents. Its really sad that it took 2 housefires in order to get the half-sister out of that household... she and the OP should've been taken out of therea long long time ago. When the mom was sent to the psych ward, it should've been permanent.... the whole delusions and all the letter and phone calls just shows she is a danger to everyone, including herself and its even more ridiculous that many charges were dropped since she kept evading the courts.... stuff like that shouldnt be allowed, and she most certainly should not EVER have received any custody of the half-sister for any reason. That's just sickening. Overall, that mother is one of the worst mothers i've heard on this channel and hopefully the OP never deals with her ever again. Story 3: Yeah i can understand the OPs frustrations and suspicions here, and its also a big reason why long distance relationships almost never work out. I think its pretty clear that this Mike guy likes the OPs gf here and was hoping something would happen between them, either at work or at this camping trip. OP has every right to be concerned here, but dont jump to conlusions either. A serious yet calm conversation is needed here.

I'd be careful throwing around the _legal_ term "hostile work environment". That only applies if her behavior toward OP is based off a protected class (e.g. sex, race, religion), which may or may not be the case here. That aside, Janice's behavior _is_ toxic and absolutely does need to be addressed in some way. Her behavior might not create a "hostile work environment" in the legal sense but it may present problems for the company for other reasons; if so, then this is HR territory. If HR is any good and isn't hamstrung by higher management, Janice may find she's not so untouchable after all.

@@MarsJenkar It can also depend on where you are, and what you do as well. I get that legal definition you described there, but in some places "hostile work environment" can also be defined simply by your co-workers or employers just being jerks too. It also depends on if the workplace even has an HR. If there's no HR, then that term can certainly be viewed that way, and especially with those kinds of treatment.

OP can talk to her have put phone in pocket record when confronting why is she following & taking photo in my opinion I think Janice is jealous OP is better than her feel threaten her job can be taken plus have someone with OP there's witness plus OP can set a lawyer in case it can lead into something that unnecessary problem in work place & most of all it will show Janice play stupid games win stupid price lawsuit will come to her if she keep that up

Communication. The guy in the last story can't just go from "oh, I did not say anything about it to not be THAT kind of boyfriend" to "I am thinking of breaking up with her". If her going on this trip is a dealbreaker for him, he should SAY something. Maybe she would have backed off. And the same about the issue with her colleague he is not comfortable with. Yes, maybe in the end they would break up anyway, but not communicating anything makes matters way worse. How is she to know that this is not ok for him if he never communicated this to her? Is she supposed to read his mind?

Am in my house I don’t really know what to do.

Yes I agree plus have lawyer set incase Janice want to lie out of whatever plus have witness with OP if the boss not looking into what Janice is saying because hearing what OP is doing is normal its ok to take a break what caught me is why is Janice taking pictures while OP taking a break that's something need to look into because time OP working Janice not there that's my opinion on it
