Thank you, Ahmet Ergin, MD. For lunch today I had steamed cabbage, onions, and garlic and a half cup of Edamame. Once on my plate, I added non-salt spices and herbs and a half teaspoon of hot Keene mustard and a little fresh lemon and a little apple cider and a teaspoon of olive oil. It was delicious and filling. It will keep me filled until dinner.
Love ❤️ all the helpful tips, I now have a better idea 💡 how to manage my daily routine. Thank you Doctor 🙏

I just read research on net carbs....a food industry term. The American Diabetes Association recommends counting full carbs unless the product has more than 5 grams of fiber, then you can take 1/2 the fiber “number” and deduct that number from the total carb count.

I was recently diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes at the age of 80. Unfortunately, I am anaphylactic to tree nuts and sesame (which rules out the hummus as it's usually made with tahini). The other snacks are good, though. I have a few other, milder, food allergies so this is going to be tough for me to navigate.

Why air popped popcorn? I can understand not using microwave popcorn with all of the added chemicals, but what about old-fashioned popcorn made on the stove using a little oil? Plenty of the other snacks listed contain oils. If I make my popcorn with a tablespoon of olive oil, how does it suddenly become terrible for me? In fact, wouldn't that tiny bit of oil help slow down the absorption of the carbs? If you don't like olive oil, then recommend another one, but I see no reason to rule out "regular" popcorn.

Hi, I am new to your videos. I just had my labs done. I am 69 years old, and prediabetic. I feel my Dr. is making light of my numbers. I have been on a very low carb, practically Keto diet for 8 weeks now, and have only lost 1 1/2 pounds. I don't think I am consuming even 50 grams of carbs a day. I am about 30 lbs overweight (Covid weight). I want to get my cholesterol down, but my glucose was 99,4 months ago, and on this diet, it is still 99. My A1C is 5.8 which is high according to the numbers I see that are normal. I don't know why my numbers have not improved since I am not eating any sugar. No rice, pasta, bread, cake, candy, white flour, cereals, potatoes, fruit (I only berries and not a lot). I don't know why my glucose is not coming down or my A1C. I eat eggs, tuna, meat, chicken, veges (non-starchy, salads with olive oil and a handful of nuts, and sometimes cottage cheese. My Dr. told me not t0worry. Well at almost 70 years old, I am worried, and I feel rightfully so. I think now I am eating too many fats. My cholesterol was 213, 4 months ago and it is still 213. Do you feel I need to look into this further and do you have any suggestions as to how I can lower my numbers back down to to normal the way they were 2 years ago? Again, I am not diabetic, at this time. Thank you so much! I enjoyed your video and will be watching all of them.

Hi Doc. I've watched quite a number of your videos but haven't heard you mention lentils. I love them, actually prefer them to beans. 1.Are lentils bad for diabetes? 2. I would like to try the roasted chickpeas; they are quite hard. Do they have to be soaked before roasting? I usually soak them overnight, cook them for a few minutes in a pressure cooker and add to stew. Hope I've not been destroying all the nutrients. 🙂🤨
