Thanks, dude. I thoroughly enjoyed those stories as well as revisiting the qualifications for the various ESL exchange programs. Sometimes I wonder what my life would be like if I followed through when I first looked into it over 10 years ago! Take care.

I love your stories Scott ! Your storytelling is also entertaining , please more of that ! ( and yes you pronounce my nickname perfectly actually ; sorry I know it is an awkward one , I created it ages ago when I just enrolled on the Latin course at uni which was part of the curriculum , since then I just rolled with it and never bothered changing it : D )

One of mine that sticks out isn't so much a crazy student more just "I think logic has gone out the window." Was walking home and saw three of my students hanging out a classroom window. Did a double take because I thought I was hallucinating, but nope they did indeed have a broom. Look back and saw not just them but another two in the playground (schoolyard?) one on top of the others shoulders with another broom. Look back again because my curiosity was peaked. Realise there is a broom in a tree and both sets of them are trying to get it out by hitting it with their own brooms. I asked them what was going on and they said someone had thrown the broom out the window and got it stuck in the tree. So logically the only sane solution was to hit it from either side to get it out. It was like some weird broom based Monty Python sketch.

@@unrested haha, true. I am from the Netherlands, we are known for being direct and not to beat around the bush. Yes I would agree this wouldn't be acceptable in every situation, however I do think it can be very good to have in many others. Being very direct leaves the other with the reality whether they wish to accept that or not is up to that person. I do have to say, specially with Japanese people I try to calm down and try to react in a more similar way that they are used to. At least to the level that is acceptable in my mind that would not go against who I am. If I would beat around the bush too much I feel like I'm dishonest and unfair to the other person, my father told me to be honest and direct. I have respect for him even without him being in this world anymore.
