She disappeared the year after she married, so I assumed she just wanted a private life to start a family. While I miss channels like Texan in Tokyo, who disappeared when they started a family too, I also couldn't fault them for wanting privacy when they became parents either.

Too niche I’m sure but some of the people affected by the downfall of NOVA were pretty interesting to watch. I remember watching Trevor in Japan who got fucked by Nova and then went to work the ski lifts in Hokkaido. Crazy times.

Hah. I knew it was gonna be HannahMinx. I actually did some private websleuthing with other people a few years after she disappeared and at first we found some stuff that made her disappearance seem _very_ suspicious (i.e. that it might be an IRL missing persons case, not just absent from content making), but in the end we found some evidence of her new life and decided just to keep our findings to ourselves and leave her alone. As an aside, yeah, Victor has said the same thing on his channel, that she got married and that was all.

If you ever wanted to make a video about strawberry mochi or Kelly Marita or whatever her name is now ( I haven’t watched her videos in years) I know her personally and have perspectives to share. TLDR we were on JET together, I only hung out with her sparsely because we were into our own shit and basically had our own separate cliques but she was super nice from what I remembered. But only stayed on JET for like 6 months because she got into a dispute with her JET neighbors (who I also didn’t like) and had issues related to work. Oneday I randomly saw her on Gimmieaflake man and kenmushi channel. Now from what I see on social media on my timeline she seems to be married to a Japanese guy and has a beautiful family. I don’t message her much because I assume the time I knew her was one of her dark days in Japan and I don’t want to be a reminder of that.

I talked to Kelly a few times and she was very nice. I think it was mostly during the time that weird website went up defaming a few jvloggers and we were both shocked by it. That sucks she dealt with problems during JET.

I briefly watched this dude Akita Tom, his stuff's gone too. I used to watch a lot of exchange student vloggers back then, but never kept track on all of them. I wonder what those dudes are doing now. lol

Hannah Minx was big back in the day. She was obviously attractive but she wasn’t my type so I was never distracted. I like her quirky dorky personality. I didn’t really watch her videos to learn Japanese because learning just one word at a time out of context from other Japanese words is not effective. I’m fine with her being just a memory of the good old days and I hope she is living a wonderful life.

If you are going to Osaka or Tokyo you should be fine. If not make sure to DL the google translator app that has access to a camera and text translator also make sure you have a roaming plan that allows you access to the internet based translation. Otherwise you should be fine

I remember her and Onison being very obsessed with her. I didn't really watch her that much, but it was abrupt when she left. No goodbye or anything. Like you said, from what givemeabreakman passed onto to you. She got married and settled down. Nothing bad or anything. I think she might have been a little embarrassed about those videos and probably that's why she deleted them. She isn't that person anymore, and she doesn't want to be reminded of that phase of her life. People change, and we just move on. I can completely understand that. We are not the same person we were years ago.

I miss Texan in Tokyo a lot. They decided to have children and move back to America together so they didn't want to stay in the KZbin spotlight. They live in my city now which is awesome. I saw their recent update video and it's crazy how much they've changed.

There was a JVlogger from Philadelphia that I remember being on here, but I forget his name. He spent some time in Japan and then had to go back to Philadelphia, and wanted to return to Japan. He even set up a fundraiser to go back to Japan, but for some reason ended up not going, which led to some controversy over what happened with the money. I really wish I could remember his name. I think he was in his early to mid 20s at the time.

@@unrested I can't 100% confirm it's Ken Cannon, but the style of Ken's videos are similar to what I remember from this guy. For example, the Ken Cannon channel discusses small things like Japanese vending machines and Japanese style toilets. I think you and whoever I am thinking of did have some beef because one of the last videos I remember from him was him saying how stressed he was from drama with Unrested.

I remember Minx when she was still posting, I'm sure lots of guys like me, who were teenage boys at the time remember Minx and her low cut tops. Plus learning about Japan was always cool... 😂 I always assumed that she was getting negative attention from her KZbin videos, so she stepped away from it or she just left Japan.

onion boy is a creep and with all that he did (allegedly at least) he might be in for jail time sooner or later. The story with Her was kinda obvious that she probably got married. People just wanted to have weird stories trying to get some fame over the back of other people. This is why I never poked my nose into this one. 0:04 - missed the opportunity to say "unrested here, finally a bit more rested" :) i also notice you (perhaps intentionally) missed the opportunity to clickbait hannah minx in both name and her biggest asset(s) or even mention that this had anything to do with her success 🤣 she was kind of a more innocent belle delphine of the early internet, the queen of baiting weebs before there were so many ways to monetize it. another interesting tidbit about her - she first started off making smoking videos, where she would sit and smoke clove cigarettes with minimal, but very pleasant feeling commentary. i assume this was fetish content and i was definitely not the target audience but i still really enjoyed these videos because they embodied everything i adored about early youtube. i asked ericsurf6 in a comment about her one time and he said the same thing - he'd heard that she got married and quit the internet. i still kinda hope she'll make an update at some point, probably not because i care about her as a person but because her face would instantly take me back to a time when the internet still offered me joy
