The clearest most concise pesson on the ENTIRE crazy train song I've ever seen. And it was short! Kept moving forward, so not to lose focus... This was the first solo I learned to play on my guitar, makes me wanna do this today. Thank You Anthony!🤘🔥🤘

Excellent tone and explanation on getting it as close to the isolated track as possible. I've also noticed that around the 1:54 mark on the isolated track that there are two very subtle, what sounds like, harmonics being played then onto the main riff.

Absolutely correct. A major triad, based on the barred E shape at the fifth fret.
@goneflying1409 ай бұрын
This is a great lesson, but you are incorrect on the opening part of the song. Randy didn't do a string rake. He pushed down on the strings with his pick, basically fretting them with his pick, moved the pick up and down, and then he slid the pick down the fretboard. It's like a pick slide where you push the strings down onto the fretboard with the pick while also moving the pick up and down. Try it.

Okay I'll help you out. Normally you'd get a thumbs down from me, but I'll skip it this time. Dude, randy was reacting to the complex sound he made for himself. That opening melody that's randy bouncing of the notes. The amp made him do that. He calls it driving the car. Its like taking the unique car for a drive. He plucks a note and the amp hits him with the monster sound. It makes him hit more notes. You can't get that shove from a small high gain amp. That's all fingers playing from small high gain ampa. To you that riff is all notes but to those who play RR equipment, that's note bounce around. He's mentally bouncing from note to note in his head. He's in a trance. A similar style trance to a race car driver after they're in tune with the race. Your equipment won't ever give you the ride. The MXR EQ pedal adds 10 notes to each of RR's notes. He's listening to 10 extra notes and reacting to them. Your equipment is giving you another life totally different to the song.
