This lady honestly makes me angry. I'm a professional restaurant cook, and there are legitimate reasons to buy live fish and seafood for consumption - many crustaceans actually produce toxins in their flesh if they aren't cooked immediately after they die (which is why you should never buy a dead lobster from a lobster tank, for example) as a way to ward off predators in the wild. I understand why people are upset by the thought of killing animals as part of the cooking process, but when it does happen, it's fast and efficient. At work, we handle the animals only as much as is absolutely necessary - we don't DRAG THEM AROUND ON THE FLOOR, SPRINKLE SALT ON THEM WHILE THEY'RE STILL ALIVE, or handle them in any manner that makes their deaths needlessly traumatic. I can remember how upset I was the first time I killed a crab at culinary school - not because it was "icky" or "scary" - but because I had just TAKEN A LIFE. It's a harrowing experience, to be honest - and it gave me a new respect for the meat that we eat. What this woman is doing is needless TORTURE, plain and simple. The animals she is handling just DIED to produce the food she is eating, and she demonstrates no respect for their lives or their pain. Regardless of whether the animal you are eating is "cute" or appealing, it is able to feel pain. This is the seafood equivalent of beating up a cow, removing its internal organs while it's still alive, sprinkling hot sauce inside the open wounds, then posting the video on a porn site. If she did this to any kind of land animal, she would be in jail. I honestly think this lady should be banned from KZbin for animal cruelty - what she's doing is DISGUSTING. I'm furious that she's allowed to continue with this sort of absolutely reprehensible behaviour when people are being banned for showing nipples on this site. How does someone like this wake up in the morning & look at herself in the mirror? ...How does KZbin administration look itself in the mirror when it allows this kind of content on the site? ... Excuse me, I need to go hit something that isn't a helpless animal & possibly cuddle my cat for a few hours. F*** this lady. Just... F*** her.

Culture or not, its not that difficult to kill an animal right before eating it. Its more Humane to boil a lobster after killing rather than just dropping it in, (using lobster as an example) she should have done that with the turtle. I don't care if they "don't feel pain" just show respect for the creatures, they are dying for your nutrition at least give them a quick death.

You're so right about killing lobsters before boiling! I don't know if you know, but electrocuting lobsters is the most humane method to kill them (as cutting their head off doesn't work because of their neurological system). There are even machines dedicated to that (so it's a part of fancy restaurant's kitchen equipment just like an oven). It's really interesting and a good idea overall. Technology! Toying with a dying animals is sick. Just kill them and prep a meal, why torture them slowly with soy sauce... Eh, I tried kalamari rings for the first time not long ago and I think I won't be able to eat any seafood without thinking about this strange trend to eat them alive. Ugh. Octopuses are very inteligent animals... About it being a culture thing: Chinese people protested aganist shark fin soup (2018) and demand dropped. Everything can be changed. Granted, Xi Jinping's campaign happened to fight species extinction, not to stop animal abuse (idk how else to call cutting off shark's fins and then throwing it back into the ocean to suffocate). So... I don't have any hope as long as people believe that torturing dogs before killing them makes them taste better (even tho the exact opposite is true)...

@Southheart though proving that fish feel pain doesn't really say as much as you might think it does. It just means that the signaling mechanisms are the same. It says nothing about whether fish torment is anything like what human (or fish) torment is like to a human. Even within human beings, the signaling mechanisms for pain are used for various different things that don't feel anything at all like pain/torture. its moot though really. the decision not to torture animals is a moral decision, not a scientific one. For instance, even if babies could feel no pain, we would still have a problem with slowly pulling their arms off and sprinkling their wounds with salt.

@nerf man pepsi man is better saying 'squid feel pain' does not mean the same thing biologically/scientifically as it does in common language. What it 'feels like' to be a squid, which cannot be derived observationally unless you are a squid. Which is why this is a moral, rather than scientific, argument. We don't actually care about the inability of science to answer this question. Science is not the only tool we have.

It just doesn’t mean anything, it doesn’t give you an idea on what the creature may or may not feel. A lot of aquatic life genuinely has no pain receptors, cows do. But I’d say in doubt, because it’s hard to know what can and can’t feel pain, it’s better to kill something humanely. Better safe than sorry. I'm not vegan, but this is just cruel. She's torturing the animals before their death. Like, if you want to get them alive for the freshness, just kill them first, then cook it. Instead, she let's them wriggle around, pretending to be scared for views. The worst part was the turtle. Did she have to boil it alive? Show some respect please. And the entire time, she tries to act cute or some shit, like this is normal, or quirky. It's just disgusting, and disrespectful. The least you can do for the animal you're about to eat whole, while making disgusting crunch and slurping noises the whole time, is to let it die quickly, instead of prolonging it's suffering and boiling it alive. Now that we've got the cruelness out of the way, the video is just disgusting to watch. I'll never get ASMR in general. Who enjoys that lip-smacking and food sloshing? Yes, everyone does it, and it's natural, but who wants to watch that? However, this lady takes it to the next level, by just cooking an entire creature, who you just saw alive, and terrified to death moments ago. Then, she doesn't even cut up the meat, or gut the creature. She just plops the entire fried body on the table, and starts chowing down, tearing apart it's body and ripping out the meat, like a caveman. Even if this is just how you eat, why would you want to watch this? Also, with the turtle and the shark, aren't those endangered? Lastly, I think the woman's korean lol.
@ogthanos69643 жыл бұрын
I agree with almost all of that but I eat shark too their are many types some endangered some not infact if you go to most fish n chip shops there probs will be shark but I only eat the common one non endangered (oh yea and the turtle I think it could be illegal)
@leraw994 жыл бұрын
Three things that make me feel uncomfortable: Mukbang videos, ASMR and eating live animals. Great. Does the 3 strike rule apply to KZbin accounts? But yeah, this isn't a question about being respectful of other cultures, it's morality. She's toying with animals before she kills them, in sometimes pretty twisted and painful ways, and finally eats them, all as a form of "entertainment" so she can earn money. Don't know if it was your or her doing, but the hard cuts from her screaming and wrestling an animal to a finely presented dinner with garnish and side dishes is pretty funny.

Eating fish while it's still alive is a thing in many countries, but I'd still worry about the type of infections you can get from doing so... The best way to consume raw food is by having it frozen at a certain temperature. I don't know if that affects the taste or anything, but at least you're not risking salmonella or anisakidosis (a parasitic infection caused by worms in the fish).

@johntremblay22013 жыл бұрын
Even in the US, people cook and steam live animals. Such as Lobster, clams, turtle, ect. . Humans are just terrible. Humans are the most cruel of all all living things. In today's world, Men can't defend themselves against a woman that's attacking him but many people believe it's ok to torture animals like this because they are not human. Humans are actually animals too. I don't fight, but I would rather punch a woman in the face that's coming after me to protect myself, rather than torture these creatures. Self defense is ok, but torturing innocent creatures isn't.

Dragging an octopus around isn't a normal thing in Japan. If you were to buy an octopus that big they'd ask if you wanted it alive or not, and remove it from the tank with a square shaped net. I've seen a lot of people angry at her not just for her cruelty, but for the fact that she makes Asians look cruel. Lots of people defend her by saying it's "part of her culture", when it's NOT. Are there certain countries that eat live animals? Yes. That has nothing to do with being Asian. In Korea, "live octopus" isn't even ALIVE. It's the muscles and nerves reacting to just being removed from the head/rest of the body. The people defending her like that are making Asians seem like they have no respect for animals or life in general, which is just fucked up. I am no where near vegan, and could definitely not handle killing a living creature, but I at LEAST honor the life given to sustain mine. That's the LEAST you could do. You don't have to drag it around and have it chase you. Holy hell. She has issues.
