Your podcasts always make me happy but for some reason this one was extra extra! I recently frogged several projects too (back during spring cleaning) it’s amazing how much extra mind space you gain once you shake things up like that!

Kay, thank you for sharing this. I assume you could do this when working on a project and need to add the next skein as well. No more ends to weave in!!!!

Hey Leslie! I’ve only ever used this in my scrappy knitting so I can’t speak to how it would work in any other projects other than blankets. But, I think you certainly could!

Is this knot strong enough for socks?
@carlenlanser22764 жыл бұрын
I’m following the directions as you described. If you pull on the separate yarns/knots do they still pull away from the combined knot? If so, is that ok to continue to make the magic knot ball & it won’t come loose when knitting?
@CrazySockLady4 жыл бұрын
Once tightened up and the ends snipped I’ve never had any pull away in the way you are describing.

Great video! Seems the Russian join just doesn’t work well for finger weight join in socks. Just too thin. I’m hoping the tiny knot 🪢 ends up on top of my sock, but I doubt I’d even feel it on the bottom. ☺️
@caswucher3271 Жыл бұрын
Can we use yarn this to make socks or is the “knot” not strong enough?
@shellbell7210 ай бұрын
I’m such a perfectionist and hate any knot in my projects. Have you ever tried the Russian join method to connect two pieces of yarn?
@CrazySockLady10 ай бұрын
Nope I haven’t. Magic knot works just fine when I’ve used it.
@lorindasilveira915510 ай бұрын
Hi Kay. Thanks for this tutorial. I have a question for you. Do you find any scrap too tiny to include in the ball? Obviously if it isnt big enough to wind around…what if the scrap is only a couple of meters/yards long?
@CrazySockLady10 ай бұрын
If I can tie it in, I add it!

Does this work well for worsted weight acrylics you think? I inherited husbands grandmas stash that is mostly acrylic worsted weight in many many different colors which I think could be chopped up to do a scrape Afghan with
