I did a study on creatine in my sports nutrition class and creatine helps with energy storage. It turns ATP into ADP because ATP doesn’t have a long life span. Creatine will remove one phosphate tail so ADP (which has a longer life span) can be stored in the muscle until the muscle needs an energy source, that is when creatine placed the third phosphate tail to ADP making it ATP again. So my question is when you say creatine builds muscle is it because of the energy the muscle has or is there another way creatine actually improves muscle growth? Thank you man hope you see this comment n keep up the videos!
@saftschubse95755 ай бұрын

I take creatine daily for over a year. You can definitely put on more muscle size than just 1-3 pounds. I put in my daily cup of hot coffee as it disolves completely which makes it easy on my stomach. When i used to put in my cold protein shake it wouldnt disolve fully and sometimes be gritty when drinking and would cause issuea with my stomach. So if you are having stomach issues with creatine try it in a hot beverage to disolve it completely
@asiamies91535 ай бұрын
In hot coffee, the elevated temperature can accelerate the degradation of creatine into creatinine, which is a byproduct that the body does not use in the same way as creatine. For optimal preservation, it is better to mix creatine with cooler liquids. I mean, the relationship between creatine and hair loss is NOT supported by scientific evidence, it's considered a myth... What 1, and just 1 study showed (because other studies seem to not be able to replicate the finding) is that creatine elevated DHT among participants, and DHT is associated with hair loss; but even the author of this study says, that although they observed an increase of DHT in the participants, but none of them experienced any hair loss. Meaning, again, that there's no scientific evidence showing a relationship between hair loss and creatine consumption.

It most likely had this effect on me. I say most likely and not certainly, because I was also taking fadogia agrestis and tongkat ali for the first time as well. But a few weeks to a month into also lifting for the first time with the above, I started to lose hair quite rapidly and noticeably. It freaked me out and I quit all of it cold turkey. There are some indications that creatine does help with converting testosterone into DHT, which is what is primarily responsible for male pattern baldness. Meanwhile, fadogia and tongkat can help to boost testosterone levels allegedly. Whatever the case, something made me start losing hair like crazy, and these were the only things different in my life then. I don't give a flying f what arm chair theorists or the like say, my own experience showed me quite clearly what happens for my body at least. In a way, I guess this is a good thing in a sense, because it seems to indicate that I'm a hyper responder to creatine. But I'm vain about my hair and going bald. If I ever take creatine again, I will take saw palmettto and the like to counter balance the DHT conversion effect (and rub DHT blockers into my bald areas). Also, I will probably try the HCL version, because the monohydrate version had a pretty noticeable mucous forming effect on my body as well.

Overall, it concludes that “the evidence suggests that creatine is unlikely to cause hair loss in most individuals.”

There are enough anecdotes that risking hair loss is not worth it for a few extra kgs of muscle. Besides even Bard said, "if you're not predisposed to it". It is, admittedly, very difficult to prove a negative, but until there's more clear evidence, I'll skip on creatine.

The vast majority of speculation around this stems from a single study by van der Merwe et al in 2009 that showed an increase in DHT in a group of athletes doing creative supplementation. However, no other study has been able to replicate this finding. To date, 12 other studies have investigated the effects of creatine supplementation on testosterone. Two studies reported small, physiologically insignificant increases in total testosterone after six and seven days of supplementation while the remaining ten studies reported no change in testosterone concentrations. In five of these studies free testosterone, which the body uses to produce DHT, was also measured and no increases were found.

A couple years ago, I started taking creatine monohydrate, with an herbal supplement with fadogia agrestist and tongkat ali. Also started to do weight resistant training. For the first and only time ever in my life, I started to lose A LOT of hair very quickly after about a month into it. I had long hair at the time and it was very noticeable/obvious. And yes, there is a mechanism--creatine seems to help with the conversion of testosterone into DHT. Meanwhile, there are other substances that block testosterone conversion into DHT like Saw Palmetto (if I ever do creatine again, I will take something like that to counter balance that effect). I gather that the combo of the herbs and lifting for the first time started to up my testosterone levels while the creatine started to up DHT conversion--hence the rapid hair loss. I also noticed that creatine had a mucous forming effect on me--meaning my body would create more mucous than usual after ingesting it.

Interested in this. It's the reason why I still don't take creatine - my hair is already thin since childhood. The possibility of 1 - 1.5 kg lean mass doesn't justify the risk

I’ve used creatine for over 20 years and only heard about the hair loss concern on social media about a couple years ago. I still have a full head of hair and male pattern baldness is in my family as my dad was bald. I guess people should try it out and if their hair falls out from it then stop taking it. I assume the hair will grow back when the creatine is discontinued if that was the cause?

Creatine doesn't cause hair loss. Because at the end of day no one can predict hair loss outside from observation of receding hairline so how can they prove that the créatine was the cause of your hair loss

Eh, it doesnt CAUSE hair loss it just that for some people it may accelerate what they are going to go throught at some point of theie life (going bald)

I lost the hair at the sides of my forehead when I took it. After I quit, my hair grew back.

And what about the hair loss? :

If you have bad hair genetics, you’ll lose it fast anyway. If your hair loss genetics are good, you won’t lose it. Being more jacked is better than having hair anyway.

@@mootsymno it didn't because the creatine didn't cause his balding. It's mpb and he's losing his hair anyway

Me as well. It was quite noticeable. I have never experienced anything like it before or since. I had long hair at the time, and I was like, why the f is my hair coming out like this?! Creatine may boost conversion of testosterone into DHT. DHT is one of the drivers of MPB--not the only one, but definitely one of the biggest variables/factors. Another effect of creatine monohydrate that I noticed was an increase in mucous production. I'm tuned into this because I have some food intolerances/sensitivity and certain foods like regular cow milk and egg whites do this to be big time. I didn't see it as a good sign/indication.

@@Shvabicu This is just a very dismissive response. Hair loss isn't just a yes/no dichotomy. Having mpb to start with doesn't mean taking creatine has no effect on the rate and intensity of hair loss.

👋🏻 Question regarding Creatine? I’m 40 years old and have been working out for many years (CrossFit, some powerlifting but mostly regular brosplits ) I haven’t been trying Creatine until last month when I decided to try it out. My problem though is that I feel a weird feeling around the Chest/heart. Feels like my heart is pounding weird? I had some trouble with sleep and worst was when I was just laying down to rest It felt like my heart was beating a bit weird? I have read a lot online and found some forums were people have experienced the same feelings but most people say it BS. What’s your thoughts on this? Should I go back and try again ? Maybe another form of Creatine? (Used monohydrate) Looking forward to hear your opinion //JP
