Creating a quick Unreal Engine 4 Valley Scene

Quick scene I put together in Unreal Engine 4. Scene took me a little less than 5 hours from start to finish. This one took me a bit longer as I wanted to get the composition and lighting just right!
About 90% of the art assets used in this video were created by other people and can be found mostly on the Unreal Marketplace, a few of them can be found on TurboSquid
All music in the video is from Unreal Tournament 2004.

Would you be open to doing tutorials on the scenes you've already created, especially the forest scene. Kinda explain your thought process behind each move, workflow, and explanations of the ue4 tools. I'd really appreciate a forest scene tutorial!

A new kind of hobby is arising. Game development of big games have been a thing only highly experienced and rich companies could do. Making Unreal, Cryengine etc. dirt cheap/free, flexible, easier to use and building huge communities around them with tons of assets is the best thing since the birth of the internet. I remember having a ton of fun in WC3's world editor many years ago, this is kinda the same but on a whole new level

Yeah and computer games compose together all these different concepts beautifully; music, art, modelling, storytelling, photography, landscaping, programming, society-building etc. Love the thought of groups of people or friends getting together to create their own game. It will be like the 90s trend where everyone created their own band in the garage and dreamed about becoming world known rock stars. UE4 and other engines is a huge step in making game development even more accepted as an art-style and gaming as the king of media as it should be

I was wondering,is there any chance you 'd make tutorials about several topics?Like,materials,blueprints,lightning etc.I understand that you probably have other things to do,and that you don;t have time for such a request.So what i'm asking for is for tutorials that i could purchase online(not free tuts,i'm aware that you probably don't have time for that). Is that something you would be interested in doing?

@evilmrfrank
@evilmrfrank 9 жыл бұрын
ofavlley The meshes I used for the houses just had their pivots a little off. I'd look into some tutorials for creating modular meshes as any tutorial covering this should give you the information you need for making your meshes align properly. Basically though I'd look into your pivot placement and make sure you are making your meshes the correct width/height so that the edges are aligned to the grid

Albert Walkman Your not acting very professional. For the record, I have never heard a professional refer to somebody starting out as "suckers" Most tutorials are written by professionals, there is nobody better to teach than the professionals! Almost everyone i know in the gaming industry is more than willing to help new people out and answer any questions people have. Yes many are too busy to write tutorials, and many prefer to simply stay out of the public eye but if you want to be called a professional acting the part goes a long ways too :) That being said there are more individuals now in the UE4 community who feel they can't teach themselves anything and don't seem to want to put in the hard work to better themselves but that doesn't include everyone!
