Dear, what is the best channel to learn arnold to c4d? I think you are the best arnold channel out there, but I wont use maya.
@arvidurs4 жыл бұрын
Fabiano Frank most of it directly translates to other softwares as I’m mostly doing just shading and lighting. Is that no the case?

love this new Houdini stuff man! I really feel it has so much potential for custom and complex procedural shaders based on custom attributes!

Glad you like it! The custom attributes in shaders is super powerful :)

it's amazing. and it would be great to share the original file because it would be easier for all to follow and understand how and why each step works. thanks again.

How good Arnold caustics work, and what method they use for it?
@shouptikdey20894 жыл бұрын
i am really new to Houdini. started learning from your vids. I have one question how you are seeing the curvature on the mesh
@arvidurs4 жыл бұрын
Arnold has built in curvature shaders. Or you can use the measure sop

By the way do you use inverted normals for bubbles?

Hey please can you link image textures and vdb settings?
@MrJemabarisАй бұрын
Would be easier to follow along if you'd not just set the view flag on each note when talking through the setup but actually clicking them to open their parameters :)

Any advice on how to bake that into a map to be used in other render Engines?
@arvidurs3 жыл бұрын
That will be super tricky as this is ray tracing transmission. Hard to bake that effect in to a texture

Is arnold for houdini have education version?

Arnold has a free watermarked version

Why you disable specular reflection? like this roughness texture is useless unless you have specular on right?
@arvidurs2 жыл бұрын
I'm explaining why in the video. but in short, i'm using the coat lobe for the specular reflection.

hi, before there was a node called aiSkinsss what happened to it? it was deleted? or can it be added .. or should we only use the aistandarsurface now? I was watching a very old tutorial of texturing skin and they used that .. I would be very grateful if you could help me and thanks for the usual tutorials .. I did this with Google translator I hope you understand

Yeah I am not sure how worth it is to do Houdini tutorials like this. Saying I cracked it open and merged them without actually walking us through what that means, is a bit hard. I would suggest spending one 13 minute episode on getting the model, then the following week doing the next part and so on and so on until you hit the render phase. Packing it all in a 20 or so minute video is too rushed, covers too much ground if you're just starting with Houdini it is pretty easy to get lost.
@arvidurs4 жыл бұрын
Hi Miles - sorry to hear that you don't like these kind of videos. These are all super basic things I did in this video, and you can very easy check out rbdfracture or the other nodes in the official documentation. It's not rocket science, that's why I'm not going in to crazy detail. I hate tutorial which are you have to click here, and here, and enter this and that number. Anyways, I do have other more in depth videos, thanks for your feedback though. Arvid
