Spreading 18 tons of Pea gravel to make 6 spawning beds for the Bass and Bluegill.
I added more after the recap so the bed sizes actually ended up being: One 30x40, one 12x30, two 12x15s, one 12x10 and one 6x12 section.
These beds should make for some great spawning habitat!
Enjoy!

As an avid film photographer may I give you a tip? To stop your tripod tipping over in windy conditions, get a nice heavy duty bag and put dirt or whatever you have at hand, and hang it from the tripod. You can also buy purposes built sand baga for the legs. Have a play about and see what works for you. All the best from Western Australia 🇦🇺

In a couple of years when that gravel has sunk in the mud, you can build 3 sided "form boards" lay in landscape fabric then put your gravel on top of that.

I'm no fisheries biologist but I've always been told to go with natural pea gravel and to avoid crushed slag. They say natural pea gravel is best due to it's smooth edges and fish are naturally drawn to it especially bluegill and bass. I really can't tell what you used but it looks like some quarry screenings. What did you use and what factors did you use to decide the best to use. My experience has always lain on the hammering end and not the spawning end. Personally I don't even fish spawning bass. If you explained it in the video, I'm sorry I didn't hear it.

@@TonyBaroni I’m no expert either.. I ordered pea gravel and this is what showed up lol. There’s a river rock quarry down the road, may get a few tons from them as well.

Could you not take a couple of buckets full of the pea gravel and tip them into your 'houses' to make a well protected habitat? Or would that not work at all. My knowledge of fish spawning habits is about as detailed as my knowledge of how to build a nuclear reactor, i.e. zero ;)
