This 6½" x 24½" ruler from Creative Grids is a wonderful tool for fussy cutting, cutting half-square triangles, as well as squaring up flying geese units! This ruler also features the Turn-A-Round feature - designated by the easy to read numbers, and the 1/2 inch grip sides. This ruler has gripper dots and gripper edges to help hold the ruler in place while cutting.

Creative Grid are my favorite rulers! They grip, but are not hard to move around on your fabric. Love them!

So glad you love them as much as we do! It's so nice that they don't grip the fabric until you want them to. Thank you so much for watching! - Morgan

I LOVE this ruler! I have 4 different CG rulers of different sizes and I couldn’t....wouldn’t....quilt without them. Again, thanks to Tammy for turning me on to them!📏💜

Your explanation of applying and not applying pressure to the ruler has made me want to give a Creative Grids ruler a try again. I didn't like it the first time using one as it was sticking to the fabric when aligning the ruler to the fabric and I think now, after seeing your tutorial, I must've been applying too much pressure when attempting to move the ruler to the spot I wanted it before cutting. A thimble size full of knowledge makes all the difference - thank you!

It was time for me to replace my worn out 6x24 Creative Grids ruler. I noticed the major improvements! And I truly believe these are the best. But my ruler still moves. It must be the way I’m applying pressure. So I bought the Cutrite Handigrabber that you featured recently. I’m hooked!! Strips on all my rulers. Huge improvement!! Thank you!!!

I use smaller weights 1lb, or 3 lbs. That helps. I have also seen some people use shower grippers that are used when getting in and of tube. Dont know price difference

I just bought my first Creative Grid ruler, the 6 1/2 square ruler and its amazing! I didn't actually think the fabric would stay put under this ruler! I'm so glad that the 1/2 lines are on there too, because I would have to go find it on a regular ruler. Now all I have to do its flip the ruler around. Yea, I'm like Tammy's friend, I found some stash and cut 5 inch and 2 1/2 squares from it. I don't know what I'll do with them, but one day I'll use them! ;) Also, when I get a longer ruler, I'll use it sideways also!

So glad you're enjoying the Creative Grids! And SUCH a good idea to cut out Charm Squares and Mini Charm Squares with your stash fabrics! We love all of these helpful suggestions. Also, using the ruler sideways really is so helpful, and something I hadn't thought to do until Tammy taught us! Thank you so much for watching. - Morgan

Sheila Waterfield of Leicester, England essentially started Creative Grids® in 1989. The family-owned business at the time involved plastics. She realized that the scraps from the plastics company could be turned into templates for her quilting friends. Soon the Waterfield's had developed a variety of quilting templates.

I have a bunch of creative grids rules that I never use because the markings really confuse me. I wish I could make them make sense in my head. I only use them if they are the exact size I need for squaring up. This is sad because they weren't cheap and seemed so popular...but I just find myself flipping them around and around trying to find the right markings. Maybe, as suggested, more videos about them to help them work in the brains of those of us who just don't get it. :)
