I've just watched your video, I thought the questions you asked were just right, and the answers you got from the four ladies were excellent. I'm an 80 yr old man who has camped all my life, but never as a full timer. I have a 1978 Chevy van that was sold new as a built out camper, which I have remodeled so that it now fits my requirements. It has been totally rebuilt mechanically. New engine, and completely new everything under the vehicle, from exhaust, to tie rod ends. As soon as the weather warms up here in NM, I'll be hitting the road. Not as a full timer, but with the blessings of my wife of 52 years. mike

Robin, this week's video really resonated with me because my partner and I sold our home 2 years ago and took off in a 10-year-old class C for full-time adventuring as I began my retirement. It's a life that is a dream fulfillment for both of us. We're beginning our 3rd year and still loving it. Anyway, these ladies' experiences mirrored ours. This was a good one! Thank you!

@jamelcampbell49849 ай бұрын
I just started out Saturday 3-23-24 and there is no overnight parking in my rural area, no water, and the rest areas are far apart. First day my trailer was way overloaded and swayed at 30 mph, then I off loaded alot, it then swayed at 42mph, I just off loaded more so hoping it's better, also I changed hitch recievers and instead of a straight which made the back too low, I switched back to the original, even though the back sits higher off the ground than the front it seems ok at 30mph, I won't know until tonight when I go back to the rest area I'm close too. I may have to buy a shallow drop reciever. Monday I get a free gym membership with my medical advantage plan. I found my first 24 hr laundry and an open day use area I'm hanging at. But I want to go fishing at different places throughout washington state over years. But I wanted to cry 20 minutes after I left.

Great to hear that you got a free gym membership. That sounds fun I need to do that myself. How long is your trailer? Congratulations on your new adventure.

@@tennesseeterri I bought 5-1 gallon jugs of water over 1 week time, I keep refilling 2 T a time when I go to the gym for my shower and workout. My best friend’s mother did that, when her husband died she started traveling. My mother’s idea of a summer vacation was sitting on a beach & a cabin. She married my dad who liked to travel, & she went tent camping with him & us girls (5) until we stopped going as teens then they bought a Bolar trailer & continued until they were in their 70s then did hotels. Because she went, she got to see most of North America, New Zealand & a highlight for her was watching a Formula 1 race in Monaco. But more spouses are like your’s & my friend’s father.

I really enjoyed this video. Great info from varying perspectives is good to hear. We’re onto the 8th right now for us. Different rigs have different pro/cons. We’ve had off-grid property, tent camped, truck camped, hotel/motel traveled! We’ve converted a cargo trailer and traveled cross country with 3 dogs… not small dogs! Too cramped… I’ve had a converted ambulance with 7.3l diesel, hubs couldn’t handle diesel smell when he was along and complained about space. Had a 28 ft tow behind which was good, but hubs wasn’t good towing something so large. We’ve converted Uhaul v10 truck into a basic camper, I want bathroom/toilet and shower option… plus need to use premium gas, costly. But I LOVE that truck! Have a 33ft class A, I do the driving, size isn’t an issue for me. Miss having vehicle to drive. I decided I want a small tow behind with bath facilities to tow behind my daily driver van. Just closing on a rig and I’m anxious to hit the road again!!!

A person that has limitations, needs moderate assistance to bend & stoop , but can use a scooter or cane? (physical abilities have some limitations in doing Hook-up chores or fix & repair issues ). Are there groups of travelers that travel together? Hubby is a cancer survivor who can walk with his cane, but no longer able to lift heavy things, crawl under a vehicle or other physical challenges. But definitely has the heart to travel in a safe and manageable environment. Thought’s & references appreciated! Happy travels everyone!

Love this video! Thank you so much for putting it together. I’d like to recommend a vol 2 for other questions that your viewers want to know the answers to. I’m curious about the physical demands and how they deal with them on their own. How do you maintain your health, for example medication refills, doctor’s appointments, etc. I’m a nurse so healthcare is at the top of my list. I’ve been doing a lot of research over the past 5 years and plan to move back to the states and into a RV. I’m wondering if there are any single female travelers that might let me tag along with them on a trip. I can cook, clean, navigate, sing, fill up a gas tank, and I’m pretty savvy when it comes to troubleshooting issues. I’m willing to do anything, including learning to drive. My thought is that someone might appreciate the company and assistance while I get the opportunity to learn about life on the road, specifically experiencing travel in different rigs.😊

Just a safety measure for me. I have had truck campers you had to get out of cab. Vans work best for me, you can also drive away which I have done. Love the life. Total freedom. The road used to not be so crowded. Since you tube way more crowded. I used to could hide very easily to sleep, not so much anymore. Have fun out there.
