Glad you are doing more songs from CCR. They have always been one of my favorite bands from the 60's-70's. John Fogerty has one of the most unique & recognizable voices around. They don't have a bad song! Huge list of hits! "I Heard It Through The Grapevine", "Down On The Corner", "I Put A Spell On You", "Proud Mary", "Green River", "Cotton Fields", "Born On The Bayou", "Fortunate Son", "Travelin' Band", "Who'll Stop The Rain", "Run Through The Jungle", "Lookin' Out My Back Door", "Long As I Can See The Light" etc.

Many of the CCR songs were adopted by us Nam Vets as 'Our Anthems'. This one, "Who'll Stop the Rain", "Run through the Jungle", 'Fortunate Son", and others. "The sun is cold and the rain is hot, I KNOW! ...been that way for all my time." Welcome Home to all my Brothers who've seen the rain comin' down on a sunny day. 589th Combat Engineers Song Pha, Republic of Viet Nam 1970

"The rain" being a reference to bullets in Vietnam. When I stayed in California, I went to the city of Lodi to visit this place that CCR immortalized in their song titled "Lodi." My friends, who weren't aware of this song, could NOT imagine why anyone would want to go down to Lodi. I still have a photo of myself under the "Lodi" city sign. Another great reaction, Sal.

Fortunate Son is probably one of their most famous (about the draft & Viet Nam war), Heard It Through the Grapevine, Suzie Q, Lodi, Proud Mary ( Tina Turner later covered this & made it Uber famous), Lookin Out My Back Door, Down on the Corner…there are so many CCR songs. Cosmos Factory is probably their most popular album & is definitely worth a listen! Great reaction! Once you hear a CCR song it gets stuck in your head for days! Loved them the first time around & glad to see them getting love now!

Great Reaction! I was in Jr. High when CCR was at their height of popularity. There are NO "bad" songs by them --and they had a wide variety of types of songs! Some were definitely about the times we were in and had social commentary, but some were just fun! One of my personal favorites was "Travelin' Band". You couldn't just sit and listen to it, you had to get up and dance! I thoroughly enjoy your music reactions, especially to the music I grew up listening to. I look forward to seeing more of your reaction videos.

Nam protest song. The rain on a sunny day was silvery tubes dropped by the hundreds , full of napalm to burn away the foliage and trees between North and South Vietnam. The silver tubes dropped in large groups shined in the sunlight like rain water. A way to ask if the person you are talking to is a vet without letting on to everybody what you are talking about after coming home from nam.

Raining while the sun is shining bright is a normal occurrence in Florida. Also, it's not unusual to see it raining on one side of the road but, not on the other. I once walked almost a mile to the store with it sunny and dry on my side of the street watching it raining across the street. Being able to walk that far and the demarcation of the edge of the rain staying that constant is odd.

This is one of those songs that fits my short song theory. I always use Springsteen's "I'm on fire" as the perfect example of the short song theory, which is that certain songs are rightly short. If that song went for four minutes it would be average but at 2:37 long, it is perfect and it always leaves you wanting more. I say all this as a heavy metal/Zeppelin fan who much prefers long songs. Sometimes a nuance in length of song is all that is required to make that song better.

It's funny, you having that black and white picture of the band there. You'd never guess that the driving force, songwriter, visionary, and instantly recognizable singer is the kid at the far right in the picture, John Fogerty. It may sound unfair, but the rest of the band could have been anyone. John Fogerty is CCR, and always has been.

This was an incredible band and live they were even better. John Fogarty is a genius and we would have had a lot more from him I am sure if there had not been a dispute between the band and the record label. John was prohibited from even performing his own songs for many years because the record label said they owned the rights to his music and if he did record anything, the record label contended that it would be theirs as well. Finally in 2004. many, many years later he did buy back the rights to what he had written and regained the freedom to write outside his previous contract, but way too far down the road for his fame or the band to continue. So there is a little bit of the dark side of the music business. Concord Records deprived all of us of more music from John Fogarty.
