What a return trip to Kentucky, and the first ever fishing trip in the town I was born. The day started out before the sun came up to get on a 8 mile stretch of a creek that was shallow and beautiful. There is no way we thought the trip would be as good and have an ending like it did.

absolutely addicted to your videos especially when i cant go fishing. yet it makes me wanna fish even more also from my point of view, a fish dying from fishing is the cycle of life. we are like any predator but sometimes catch and release doesnt always go to plan but atleast we have a choice to let them go. it happens and will happen.

My wife is from Alabama and was an avid fisher until disabled. You are just about the only one she enjoys watching fish, and you have the added bonus of sounding like home to her. She was like you with luck and she outfished everyone we know. She loved it so much that she dreams at night about fishing still, even though she can't do it anymore.

Happened to my friend and I on The Lake O' the Pines in East Texas. On his 19' john boat out in the middle of the lake (big lake), we sat there with water just rushing off the bills of our hats. Then we looked at each other and just busted out laughing! Good times.

I know sometimes it happens when we catch fish that they swallow the hook & we have no control over it, I have cut my line to try to save them but sometimes it's their time to go, one time I felt so bad that I killed one & it was floating & a bald eagle came and got it, made me much happier that it was the circle of life, but what an awesome float with so many great catches, your do lucky to get to do what your doing & I know you don't take it for granted! God bless you!🎣👍

I'm gonna give this video a perfect 10 out of 10 score! Y'all had a great day fishing, and I don't personally remember when you've caught more Big Smallies than you can shake a stick at, for quite a while! As for that one Smallmouth Bass that apparently didn't make it...I really am sorry, but, as the old saying goes:"Them's the breaks". Also: When y'all got caught in that Thunderstorm, I was watching the lightning flashin' an' all, and I was thinking:"John, git out of the water, ya crazy galoot! Yer gonna get struck by lightning, if you ain't careful"! Just having a little fun with you there. Try not to backslide, now!🤪😜🤪! Finally, to top it all off, you used Psalm 55:8 as the Scripture Verse for today. God is so good to us, especially to those of us, who have received Jesus Christ as our Savior and Lord. His Precious Word is what keeps me going. Stay true and strong in the Lord, Brother John, and please pray for me, that I'll do the same. God bless! P. S.-This video, and the video you did a couple of years ago, when you caught some of the biggest Bass, and won a Fishing Tournament, right when a Vicious Thunderstorm tore through your area with Heavy Rain and Hail, are now easily in my top 3of the fishing videos that you've ever put out! Just thought you should know... Catch ya later!

Hey I heard there is a big recall on Dodge Ram trucks, you might want to check on that. What a great trip. Great fishing, rain was okay, but the lightning could have been skipped. My friend deep hooked a big smallmouth once on a canoe/camp trip. We cleaned and scaled it, and covered it inside and out with old bay and butter and roasted it over the campfire. One of the tastiest fish ever. Just saying. I hated that it died but at least it provided a good meal for us.

I know you like the raised seat open style fishing kayaks but on a river like this it seems like the Old Town Loon fishing Kayak would be safer and drier. It is a sit in kayak and you should have been able to go down most of those rapids. Right now I am fishing out of an old Dagger Crossover which is a cross between a whitewater kayak and a river kayak. I am going to put rod holders on it and add an anchor.

Why in the world didn't you keep the fish to eat? That makes no sense unless for some reason you are prevented from taking the fish because of regulations. They have to be good eating coming from a pretty creek like that. I know you mentioned in other videos that you don't like to eat fish, which I always thought was strange. I love your creek adventures. I follow you and Richard Gene. He releases a ton of fish but every once in a while he will keep a mess to eat.
