The very first bowfin I caught smashed a black jointed Jitterbug on a night fishing trip. Sounded like someone threw a cinder block in the lake! It hit so hard that it almost straightened out the hooks on the back on the lure!

I remember as a kid coming up to South Georgia from Jacksonville on weekend fishing trips and fishing the blackwater creeks. My grandfather and I would have a blast just catching whatever we could get. The interesting thing that I found about those creeks was the fact that the fish never seemed to be in the current as much , but I could throw a jitterbug next to the laydowns and the fish would come alive......They also seemed to like the chartreuse colored snagless sally with a u tail grub trailer. I caught one of my biggest largemouth in a blackwater creek that was 5lb. 11 oz. and i thought i caught a whale..LOL

Amen to that, Brother! I was just telling Brother John, as to how I'm in the Book of Jeremiah right now. He sure had a hard time getting anybody to listen to him, that's for sure. Brother John's Memory Verse for today fits the situation that Jeremiah was in, perfectly, when you consider how many times that Almighty God spoke to Jeremiah, Jeremiah would warn the people as to what was coming, and why. The general populace didn't listen to Jeremiah one little bit! However, there were a few who did...but only a few. Does that remind anybody of what we're seeing going on nowadays? Only a scant few will listen... Tragically, most won't...

I'm interested to see how (or if) you switch the baits up soon as it turns colder, it feels like the bite is already slowing down some around here but the new Trout Magnets still work!

try letting them have it for 2-3 sec before you nail them - they usually won't drop it - esp when fishing the really big worms let then have it for 5 sec #snake lure #common watersnake
@shephusted27142 жыл бұрын
that place looked snakey as hell - good fishing - nice bowfin = cypress blackwater trout - do some big farm ponds, use live bluegill or big worms or topwater or crankbaits like hellbender- check the regs - you should have your own rods you sell, start think sw for the fall blitz

What size and type of hook do you use on the yum dinner? I finally found my own little creek after much searching and caught a bunch of rock bass and redbreast. I saw some big largemouth in a deep area but couldn't get them to bite. I used a modified TRD junebug. I watch Intuitive Angling channel. I cut it down an inch and cut it so the tail would split at the bottom. Can I still catch fish on that yum dinger as opposed to the ned rig worm? Or are there times to use one or the other. Can you recommend one or two colors and brands of crankbaits for small to large streams? I tried the Nikko Hellgrammite but no success. Maybe I was doing something wrong. I will keep trying it.

Great video, Brother John, and a good, strong Memory Verse, there at the end. I'm in the Book of Jeremiah now, and you know how the general populace of Israel and Judah were, back in Jeremiah's Day-Rebellious, and very Obstinate! Your Memory Verse fits Jeremiah's situation perfectly. Only a scant few listened to the warnings that Almighty God sent through His Servant, Jeremiah. Is it any wonder, that he was known as "The Weeping Prophet"? He truly cared about them, and loved them very much!

After this past weekend I dont believe the whopper plopper is my go to anymore. I caught over 30 fish in 2 days throwing only the Berkeley Chopo 75. I missed only 2 fish, so hookup ratio was phenomenal. The actual noise of the bait is much louder, and it seemed easier to manage. Sometimes my whopper plopper takes effort, the 75 chopo didn't.
