Thanks for reviewing this even though I don't need one it looks like it works great. I can see where there would be a learning curve to get it dialed in right. I would think after using it for awhile it will be much easier and quicker to dial in. See you on the next one 👍

best to sort your wire beforehand, but that will take a lot of time. so I cut a 10 inch piece and run it through and dial it in with the short piece, then run the longer pieces,

A idea I had is power it with a small electric motor controlled with a sowing machine foot treadle switch , leaving both hands to feed the wire . 👍🇨🇦

Cool idea the foot peddle switch is around $10.00 on amazon if I remember

seams to be a good stripper, would work great for the new guys, or for them that don't have a lot of wire all the time.

They always find a reason to devalue my copper from bright/#1 to a lower grade. Arguing only makes it worse. Only scrapyard in the area so they don't have competition. Since I've seen them put my clean wire separate from non-cleaned (I'm sure they sell it as #1) I only take uncleaned & take the lower price & save my time.
@Okiescrapper
@Okiescrapper 9 ай бұрын
not a lot you can do, try to save up a bunch and make it worth the drive to take it to another yard. sell your lower grade and build up a large amount of the bb. google scrap yards near you, you never know when a new yard may pop up

if you find a bolt that will fit the hole you may be able to get thumb screws from a hardware store, just need to find out the size bolt and thread pattern

what are some differences between the stripmeister and this one ? i just purchased this one on amazon but also looked at the stripmeister but didn’t get it because this one was half the price and seemed like it works the same. do you like the stripmeister better ?
@Okiescrapper

they are both about the same, I have the strip mister but it is the $500.00 dollar one with the motor. they both will get the job done. and this one is better by price. and should last a long time

I have a VIVER and found out fast you cant strip big wire with it as you will burn out batter operated drills really fast .

yeah, have to put it on torque, or use the hand crank, or a big corded electric drill

the small wire can eat up a lot of time, you can work at it for an hour and only have 1/4 pound. and I don't want to strip it as I watch tv

I use a Stripmeister and find it works very well with the drill. The cost of buying it was very reasonable.

the stripmeister is the top of the line as far as wire strippers go, I love mine, this unit is 1/3 the cost and a good place for the new to scrapping guys to start, and then upgrade when they can afford to

I do the stripping by hand because I don’t have a work station. Can be very tedious 🤪. 🐎✌️

Interesting...I've never seen that brand. As for the bad reviews, I agree with you, you have to have it adjusted just right, and I won't do any stranded wire unless it is THHN. You're losing more in plastic weight than you're gaining in copper weight when you figure in your time. As for sharpening the wheel, none of the models out there have that feature that I am aware. I've had my StripMeister for 5 years now, it came with an extra blade, I have run literally tons of wire through it and have not changed the blade yet! My best guess is I have run 6 or 7 tons of wire!! If the bottom feed wheels are knurled rather than grooved, you're going to have problems with feeding the wire. The knurled wheels (like the Vevo has) don't provide enough grip. Looks like a decent machine for the hobbyist, though. WOW!! Good price point!

I have not striped that much with my stripmister, but I do like it a lot, this is a good low cost for scrappers that are getting started.

Hello again my friend. If I were you here is what I would do to maximize my profits from copper. During the warmer or hot months I would collect all my copper like you had in the barrels before you sold them. Then just stockpile it up for the cooler and cold months. I would then melt all of it and save it for castings. I would cast the heck out of it and let's say you make 10 nice castings at a pound a piece. Sell them for $39.99 each. That would be roughly $400. Now let's say you have a total of 40 hours in everything from collecting to melting to casting. That's $10 hour.Not bad for a hobby considering that 10 pounds of copper at the yard would of brought you about $35. Something to think about. I'd even do it with my Brass. I would only sell to the scrap yard your Shred metal and what not but never Copper and probably not Brass. Brass castings you could ask a premium for too. Do a little looking at other castings on the Web for sale and see what ppl are asking and getting. If you can do it to...go for it. I only say this my friend because 1) you already have the set up to do it and let's face it...copper and brass prices are low compared to what you could be getting for the weight in a casting. Take care my friend.Still praying for your wife and as always I enjoyed stopping by.
