Great video guys- You really hit on all the important points. Worth noting on the rally all your navigation is on the frame of the bike and off the handlebars also with the wind protection of the rally it keeps the water off you doing big water crossings. Happy Riding mates! Allan So Cal USA

For the 250L I'd just add a larger tank and you're waxed. The thing I like about the L is that there are less parts to break when you put it down eventually. The rally has a lot more parts to replace and its parts are more scarce which translates into money

Good reviews. The fuel tanks the only thing I’d maybe upgrade on my CRF250L and thats only if I planned on doing some distances. I like the openess of no screen. Yes it does leave you open to some wind buffetting on A roads but as mines just a bike for fun rides out I’m more than happy to put up with it whilst I discover the Cornish back roads

Thanks for the comparison vid. I know they are discontinued for the 300 so I won't knock you for that. I have a 300 rally on its way this month. I have watched and learned a lot from KZbin. The Covid really has made a mess of things. The after market is slow to catch up to the new model changes across the board. When funds allow,and time on the seat to know what I want,the parts should be available to truly make it mine. I really like the looks of those bash plates on your bikes. The coverage looks exceptional.

L owner here. I found one in my area that a little over 9,000 kms and virtually no signs of wear. It came with a bash plate and Acerbis handguards. IMHO you cant go wrong with either one. Stellar bikes. Sure, a 300L would be nice, or a rally version of either one, but the 250L was so cheap i just had to :). Zero regrets.

I owned both for 6 months (at the same time…) Kept the Rally (but secretly regret it) … Surprisingly how similar, yet different they are.. Yes the L turns in faster and is a better trail bike especially in knarly stuff, but the rally is good on long flowing gravel roads we get in QLD.. and is planted on the road, so can be a goo dish road bike, for riding with street riding buddies… Agree with everything you said.. The Rally I kept only because it had the CBR300R engine in it.. But when I had both bikes -I’d take the 250L 7 times out of 10. But then I am 168cm and 70KG with gear - so the L would naturally fit me better…

is 250Rally headlamp can be fitted to 250L, or can 250L be converted to 250rally?
@lightweightadv2 жыл бұрын
Hey Mac, it's a good question as they are both in essence the same bike. If you are a good engineer this could probably be done in theory but would take a lot of effort and is probably easier to just swap out the bike in all honesty. What you can do is modify the 250l pretty well with mini fairings/screens/towers to achieve a similar result which works well 👍

Crf250, 300 is more maneuverable fit smaller riders ,but suspension is poor,pavement road use will get blown around Crf 250 ,300 rally is less maneuverable off road but takes bumps better, and it won't get pushed around on pavement. The rally Also holds up better when dropped or hit rocks off road . All the crf 25,0, 300 will be obsolete when yamaha releases a 300cc dual purpose.

Its been a tough decision and I was thinking the rally for a long time because of the LED headlight and the idea of being caught out in low light, they do an LED headlight version of the L in asia so a total loss as to why they didnt spec that on the one we get, but in the end its the L I have decided on and going to see one this weekend if they still have it in stock (only 1 left when I called earlier in the week), the tank was a concern but since learned you can get larger aftermarket ones if I find it to be a problem
@lightweightadv Жыл бұрын
Yeah, weighing up each small aspect is important. My biggest advice is sit on both. They feel different, aside from the little bits here and there, they just ride fractionally different too.

The first couple of minutes with added background music sucked. I can turn on my radio if I want music, I just want to hear what you're saying without distraction. At 7:00 it was bearable, but totally unnecessary. Around the 12:00 mark I almost dove out the window! My 2020 CRF250L is pretty good for what it's made for, I just wish it had more grunt from 2000 to 5000 RPM.

You guys are making 250L content when everyone is clammering for 300L's and 300L content. I don't know what your goals are for the channel, but you'll have much more growth doing 300L content than 250L. I subscribe to a lot of motorcycle and adventuring channels ... Some huge, some big, some tiny. The bigger channels tend to have something in common ... They seem to catch their 'big break', in other words a huge spurt in channel growth, for having covered a particular bike that people were very interested in at the time and churned out all their content surrounding that model ... Like what you're doing for the 250L. You can see these 'successful' channels try to repeat the same trick when another hot new bike (within the channel's remit) comes on the market. I realise you most likely think your channel is 'bike agnostic', given the name of the channel, but what people are really here for is to learn about the bikes since there's not much adventuring taking place. If the goal of the channel really is 'bike agnostic', and all about adventuring ... Well, it's a similar situation ... You're not doing any adventuring. Just some green Laning in and around your locality ... The way I see it, in terms of channel development ... You should either replace your bikes with 300L's or stick with the bikes you've got but go on some actual adventures. On the other hand, you might not be interested in channel development at all ... In which case, please ignore my thoughts on this and carry on. I suspect you do want to develop the channel though ... In which case I think you've got what it takes to curate a successful channel and create regular content, but you've got to make your content more relevant (300L) or more substantive (proper adventures). I realise, of course, that in the context of Covid-19 it isn't as easy as it once was to just go trekking around, say, Europe (since it's in your back yard) ... Nevertheless, what I would consider the 'bona fide' adventure channels are pulling it off one way or the other. Anyway, I'd like to see you chaps succeed. I think you've got the right sensibilities for it.
