My husband was an abuser; ALL my family members and friends thought he was absolutely WONDERFUL, he was so cunning.

The most dangerous time is when the victim tells the abuser she is leaving him. Have an escape plan, don't tell him, be safe and never look back!

I really want to know what she loved on him? I could see on their wedding day, that he didn't love her. She was all smiles, full of happiness, and he barely cracked a smile. His patients knew him as a doctor, not as man and or husband, he wasn't their friend. Having an excellent job doesn't mean you are a good person. I hope he rots in jail, what a monster .

I feel so bad for Elana’s children. Their father can seek parole in 14 years. That is not justice. He deserves life without the possibility of parole. RIP Dr. Elana Fric 🥺😢

I did my undergrad with Elana, hung out with her all the time, we had a small circle of friends, she was amazing. Everything she did appeared effortless. I hadn't spoken to her in years before I heard the news. Life just gets too busy. This was a huge loss for our society I don't understand people like him.

It is amazing how much a narcissist can fool outsiders into believing they are caring, gentle, and kind....when in fact that is a complete act to gain influence.

I can understand his patients feeling surprised, but none of them should have spoken up on his behalf without having the whole story. Abusers are often very charismatic with those outside the family. Having a stellar reputation is part of what they do to hide their crimes against women. He's where he belongs, but14 years seems like a really light sentence. P.S. Of course, it's not Elena's fault, but MY GOD. He threatened to throw his own infant daughter into the river & blame Elena. And she took him back, and even had two more children with that monster. WOMEN, PLEASE LEAVE. LEAVE AFTER THE FIRST INCIDENT. AND NEVER LOOK BACK.

You gotta wonder how proud his parents are now. They played a role in having such high expectations of their children. This is what happens when you breed a malignant narcissist who cares for no one above himself. He doesn't even care about his own children, whom he clearly resented.

You can see at the wedding his body language wasn’t the same as hers the love was not mutual. Once again it’s the children who suffer. I’m just relieved they have excellent grandparents to look after them, the children are probably a blessing to them in the excruciatingly painful loss of their daughter.. 🙏 to you all for the future

I have a feeling he was so arrogant that he believed he was better than everyone and was doing her a favor by marrying her, I think he only fought to save the marriage because he saw divorce as a failure, so when she dared to reject and divorce him, he flew into a rage. Just a thought.

RIP Dr. Fric. Our society puts an immense amount of pressure on women to be perfect. The perfect wife. The perfect mother. The perfect career woman. A hard lesson to learn is that your happiness and peace is more important than the image you struggle to produce. For anyone out there struggling with self-worth/self-image I have one thing to say to you. YOU ARE ENOUGH. Life is too short and too precious not to live genuinely. I speak from personal experience and have never been happier.

The people with the most amounts of "proof of the perfect love story" on social media are usually the ones suffering in silence. Nobody has a perfect marriage. My parents had pretty close for almost 60 years. They NEVER had flowery words or staged photos. They loved each other til the moment they died. My mum still got butterflies of excitement every time he walked in the room. They were 100% committed to each other and their children. They did not need to convince the rest of the world. The 5 of us knew in our souls that we were loved and if we needed anything, we are the 1st person in each other's lives to call. Facebook, no thank you. It's for liars and cheats. I don't need to tell the world who I love, that person knows it and that's all that matters. Ladies, get away from these monsters. They don't change EVER and your life is not the price you should pay for love. There's help out there, get it and get away.

The neighbour with the long blond hair seems really sweet. It must feel awful to be providing emotional support to a friend whom you know is being abused and then to have that friend be murdered by their abuser. She's pretty clearly wracked with guilt over it.
