They sure are taking their time. It was upsetting to hear that they will check more tips before doing DNA. It has been 40 years: do the damn DNA 🙄

How did the killer know Stacys phone number ? How did he know she babysitted? How did he know her full name? Sounds like he was very familiar with the town. I just believe he lived very close by

ok, here's my take on the question of premeditated or crime of opportunity: unless there were tons of cinder blocks lying about the area, it was NOT a crime of opportunity, it was premeditated.

Exactly plus he got another girls phone number off Stacey.Why do that if not premeditated

I have been with you since the beginning of your podcast Nancy, this was episode #5, and I remember only one other episode that hit me as hard as this one did. I hope for Marnie and Marion's sake (I pray Marion's still with us) that this case is resolved, and the preparator is brought to justice. You do you an amazing job Nancy, I recommend your podcast quite often. Your care and compassion, is paralleled only by the thorough job you do in the gathering of information. Keep up the excellent work!

Whoever is harassing not only the cops there, but also the people from the podcast, and even the family.... You need to get yourself some help. If you don't see what's wrong in harassing them, you need to stop what you're doing. You're causing more harm than good. I hope to God no one else ever does that, that family doesn't deserve that.

Another thing I find strange is this guy had the gulls to pick her up a home. You’d expect a parent to greet you and he was probably certain his face would be seen. And by luck that didn’t happen 😢

I was a young girl in southern Alberta at the time Kelly went missing - and it changed life forever. Kids went outside to play alone, we would be gone all day and our parents didn’t care - they knew we were ok. After Kelly went missing I was definitely changed. Years later - when I had a child - he was never allowed to anywhere alone. I have waited for 40 years for Kelly’s killer to be found. Rest In Peace Kelly! ❤️

Hearing Stacey and Kelly's sister talking and getting to know each other was great!! I hope they can make company to each other to overcome this horrible event. I wish that police can work with forensic genealogy and find the evil person who took Kelly away and ruined so many lives

One never completely gets over such a loss. The circumstances of Kelly's death, makes it worst. Not getting closure makes the grief never ending and people are not able to emotionally move on. Closure can be so important. Believe me, I know. Poor Stac(y, ie), I can't imagine feeling that kind of guilt over something that really wasn't her fault. That too is saddening. One person died, but there is far more than one victim. This predator was looking for a girl, any girl, not a specific victim. Yes, he would have gone on to the next, until there were no more, then moved on to a different scheme for kidnapping one. He chose to use a name that was known, in a small trusting community, to use the babysitter scam, so he could get a victim in his car and not have to fight, until they were away from people and potential help for the victim. I'm betting he asked someone local for the first the name for a babysitter and the phone number. He set this up well ahead, to learn first, what he needed to know. I'm sure that after he finished with Kelly, he moved on to another similar town for his next. It is predatory behavior.

It seems really unlikely that two concrete blocks could be washed ashore by anything other than a cataclysmic geologic event.

I think it was somebody from the community his relatives in the community have some knowledge of what happened but won’t admit due to shame and not wanting to be related to a killer.

He used a public phone to make the call so maybe he didn’t live there or wise enough to know about evidence. Hate to say it but maybe he was in law enforcement in a neighbouring town? People were possibly asked by him to have provided “Stacey’s” name! Maybe someone remembered being asked & they have already contacted the police? And how do concrete blocks come to shore? Did the killer drag them to shore a few months later so she can be found? I have a feeling the killer may already have been caught for other crimes. Too bad there was no DNA :( I hope the family gets some answers & justice soon!!🙏

Kelly was not even the intended victim, it was the other babysitter or perhaps any babysitter. This was a premeditated crime but I don't think Kelly was targetted directly. And yes praying for some answers for her family left with this unending grief

He was familiar enough with the community to zero in on two local teen age girls and lure one of them into his trap. In a small town community like this one only someone who had been a resident at one time would have that sort of familiarity. Only someone with that sort of familiarity would know to use the name of a prominent family in the community.
@williamadebonojo3061
@williamadebonojo3061 3 жыл бұрын
The fact that no one has been able to put a name to his face indicates that his family probably did not have strong roots in the community despite his having lived there at one time. I imagine that he left high school early, attained Canada's equivalent of a GED and immediately enlisted in the Canadian Armed Forces or went to go live in the United States. The reason I think this is because he seems to have left no lasting impression on the community during the time that he lived there as a younger person. I also imagine that this person is someone who has probably supplemented his legitimate income by running scams and con jobs over the years.

@alelux4959

There are two possibilities. A- Stacy was the first target and the backup babysitter became the backup victim. B- Kelly had always been the target. The killer called Stacy because he wanted the telephone number and probably already knew that Stacy wouldn't be available on that date. Either way, the killer knew both girls. Maybe he knew Kelly through Stacy from somewhere else, he knew there was a chance of kidnapping her that night. C- he knew that there was a chance of kidnapping a girl and that he simply had to ask Stacy if there was another young babysitter.
