This is why Superman has the most believable superhuman strength ability, rather then just pushing really hard at one point of something and it somehow makes the entire thing lift without bending or breaking.

Interestingly Hawkman's son Hector DID become Doctor Fate in the comics for awhile and honestly he was just about the only other tolerable incarnation of the character outside of Kent and his wife Inza because the writers usually have NO idea what to do with Dr.Fate at all and usually retcon how it even works, to the point that the person wearing the Helm is just a warm body for the spirit of the Helm to possess ( and no, new 52 and Young Justice fanboys, that's not how it always worked)

Here's what I'll say in defense of Atom Smasher and Cyclone in particular: they both were incredible *unoffensive* . I've gotten so used to seeing youth characters be insufferably woke I was just expecting it. But while Smasher is a dork he does clearly have a deep drive to save people, prioritizing damage control when he could have been just smashing stuff, and Cyclone is *really nice* , doesn't backbite or condescend, and despite clearly being a very intelligent person, she doesn't lord it over anyone.. she's even *humble* about it and pointing out the mad scientist's nanobots are doing a lot of the heavy lifting. I'll take that over loud, soul-sappingly woke toddler teens any day of the week, just have to punch up their story impact and include some character development and you've got some winners. Maybe next time around!
@protorhinocerator1422 жыл бұрын
Agreed. Clearly Hawkman and Doctor Fate were the two experienced powerhouses. The other two kept their eyes open and their mouths shut when the two veterans were making the real decisions about the fate of the world. This was actually rather realistic. If I just got superpowers I wouldn't mouth off to those two.
@thant0s2 жыл бұрын
@@protorhinocerator142 I can't help but think they could have very easily given the new recruits a bit more shine if they squeezed in moments where Hawkman directs them to focus on protecting the citizens from Intergang at first, then the minions of Hell, and Dr. Fate could have remotely given them insight as he and Hawkman were focused on removing Adam from the city, or taking Sabbac head on. The story really wanted to throw shade at the Justice Society for not giving a crap about Khandaq, but these guys really are heroes and would be gladly putting themselves at risk to keep them safe while the heavy hitters are smashing things around. Bit of a lost opportunity.

Nothing has to be a masterpiece or a dumpster fire. There's a lot of middle ground that needs to be embraced, regardless of what the hyper polarized internet dialog would have us believe. This movie is the first movie I can remember having felt like having a cinema audience around me while watching it actually improved the experience. The people around me where reacting to jokes or "cool" moments in a very positive way which made thos somewhat... "okay" scene feel way better than they really where. I liked it, it wasn't bad, but it had a couple of very forced and cringy expositions, one of the most awful "kid sidekick" (that comes bundled with him mom) we've seen in a while, but the couple of Mortal Kombat fatalities in there made up for it. One part that was very... "unconfortable" wa the very obvious anti-american set up they had originally, with not-iraq occupied by evil not-USA, but its pretty clear they scrubbed a LOT of it in the later edits. Still, you can feel its shadow looming over the movie, and the way thos not-USA guy just... vanish from the country right when (minor spoiler) the evil big bad show up, was pretty jarring. Especially since it would have been an easy way to have them help a bit the country and don't look as bad.

He is always destined to die some bs death from anger or emotion for Hawkwoman. He ain't no simp though, the comics do a really good job selling that their souls are linked. Fate's gimmick is he can see everyone's destiny or fate (lol) except his own. He used that power to get tons of other magical power. Magic is one of the 3 pillars of DC.
