Somes fakes are so good that even professionals cant tell the difference by touch and sight. The only way is open the back and see if the calibre is different to what you are paying for. @CRM Jewelers not the case is thicker, the caseback is thicker, because the 4130 decorated movement of the replica watch uses a different rotor. Some replace the rotor and install a slimmer caseback. The u get a hight of 12,5mm. I think the gen is 12,4mm. Right now they changed the dial too, and the newer rep dials are really close to gen. The best thing is, open the case and have a look at the movement.

Cool vid. There are super clones out there are a lot better than this example, perfect thickness, clone movement etc. You almost have to use a macro lens to tell based on the vids online. Around the world clones are really popular, not sure I really get it and would not buy one but a lot of stores outside of the USA sell these though most are not great quality and you can tell pretty quickly if you know the real thing.

I personally don't own any replicas but I do have homage watches and one of my favorite homage is the steinhart 42mm.I love the design and look of many luxury watches but wouldn't mind a homage version with seiko or miyota or a cheap Swiss movement, as long I was getting the look (never been into the movements) I'm a car guy too , now that is something I want to the inside (engine performance) to be top notch and would pay accordingly.

Thing is- this is probably over a $1000 fake, the next step to make it even better, especially in the movement probably takes it up to 1500-2000. If you are spending 2k on a watch, unless its for a movie prop or something, just go buy a 2000 dollar original watch from a different brand, the market for expensive fakes isnt huge

If you never held a Daytona in your hands, you'll never notice something off with the case right off the bat. Only x20 magnification can tell you if it's fake if you know what to look for. The movement is always a dead giveaway. They can replicate it, but it's never ever as good as original, coz then replica would cost almost like original. If I was buying Rolex and had nowhere to open a case or visit closest watchmaker and be 100% sure, I'd just skip it. No matter how good is the offer, it's not worth the risk. Also you'll never ever find precious metals in fakes.

Mate,there is no rivet there on the second hand! The hand is press fitted only. As a test pull out the winding crown to the time set position and gently rock it backwards and forwards, any backlash or play will expose the fake. A genuine Rolex has absolutely zero backlash. This simple test busts then easily and without any equipment. Can be done quite subtly without alerting the seller who may be trying to convince you that you are buying the real thing!

This is most likely a “n factory” v4 which cost about 400 bucks. There are many independent sellers who hire actually incredible watchmaker to do refinement and editing of the n factory watch as the base, and make they can fix all the problem that you just pointed out, and of course, those that you didn’t spot. And the refinement process cost about 1500bucks

I think those replica manufacturers might just deliberately leave a little hints to differentiate them from the authentic ones as they should have the technique to do good watches.

I honestly have to say that $25,000 vs $600 is tempting. Okay, so the construction is not to the level of Rolex, but for the price difference? And you need find the differences with a loupe? This is getting scary. The only reason Eric noticed that height difference is because he handles them 24/7. Any other person, would have absolutely no clue. Give the replica industry five more years and you will have to put the replica under an electron microscope to tell the difference. This is not a High quality fake I got a MUCH MUCH better DAYTONA 1:1 V3 4130 replica from Noob Factory. It;s EXACTLY the same thickniss as the real one (the one in this video is not...) They cost a lot between 750-1000+ but than you have a PERFECT replica of the real deal! This one in this video is a Mid-range fake but absolutely not a A+++ Noob fabcric 'official' fake! Sorry buddy but this video says nothing if somebody uses a better Noob version! I checked my replica with a magnifier and it's really ALMOST perfect WAY better than the one in this video. Dials are also way better polished than the one in this video.. no bleeding in the lettering at all.. just like the real Rolex. I even let it check by a Rolex dealer even they couldn't see it in first glance it was a fake EVEN not with a magnifier...
