this explained it so clearly. other "professional" channels use the same color and from their experienced view point it's not hard to see the differences but to beginners it's very hard to see where one ends and the other begins so thank you for using 2 separate colors.

do you have any tips for this but with slip stitches? i am working on a pattern with back loop slip stitches and i want to incorporate colorwork through changing yarn colors. thank you in advance!

You should be able to do the same way. However, if you can see the tail that is woven in (depending on the thickness of your yarn) then I would not crochet over the tail but leave it loose and then come back and weave it in using a yarn needle.

It works! You do need to leave enough yarn tail but I do this all the time and never have an issue. Give it a try!
