Heres a tip, take scotch tape and put it on the end like the end of a real shoelace.

I love your shoe laces so cool. I made some for a grand child but they were made of 100% Cotton . Much easier to wash laces if need be later . : ) I just eyeballed the length : ) So Happy you posted these measurements for others . : ) Keep up great videos . : ) Happy Crocheting : ) and Happy late birthday : )

I don't know what you mean by plastic, Claire Laliberte, but Elmer's Glue would work too.

Plastic on the tips whorls make the shoe lace easier to put on the shoe, and prevent the yarn from fraying. :-))))
