This is one of those indie music videos that could only have been made in the 00's. 90's indie music was pretty much just grunge and 10's indie music is really dramatic a lot of the time (not saying either of those are bad, Some Nights by fun is amazing)but this just feels good. Simple.

Indie was dramatic in the early ‘10s, but after ‘14 or so there was such an ANTI-hipster reaction to that kinda dramatic folk that these days it’s almost too flat and emo-poppy. I like early ‘10s and mid-00s like this. Different moods but both great.

Everytime I listen to this song (about 40 times just today) I hear notice something cool and new about how he writes songs. I've been missing out for years. I noticed that I know the words but while I'm singing them, for example, "I knew, I made a horrible call," Everytime I'm singing it I want to sing, "I knew, I made a TERRIBLE call." And it's almost like it just comes naturally and makes sense. Which leads me to believe, he's aware of this and does little things like that on purpose. Probs noone read, but if you did. Me sayin'?
