To answer some questions from the livestream:
I don't care for shoot through mesh--I prefer to have NOTHING between me and the deer I shoot. And yes, we like the Doghouse Blinds. Check out the deathbybunjie.com Gear Page for details. The 100 Year Old Apple Tree is doing great! Check out last week's vlog and one is coming this week, too--pretty exciting. Genevieve does like the Scorpyd but when I asked her about upgrades...she's sticking with Bunjie, Jr., at least for now. She really likes that crossbow, and I know all about liking a crossbow! We should all upgrade WHEN THE TIME IS RIGHT, not just for the sake of upgrading LOL. No, not the original string on Bunjie--I went through about 2 a year on average. But I get them re-served when needed. I don't mind if you share this video, thanks for doing so! Yes, I do prefere the mechanicals, with a heavy arrow or a light one. Bunjie and I have killed about 3 dozen deer together, one woodchuck, one squirrel, a few hogs...and more I think? Do I allow for a deer to duck, like in longer shots? I aim where I want the arrow to go--watch tomorrow's video for more on that. The Bulldog is the FP model, 24" by 24" and 10" thick. We weighed the arrows WITH the points to get accurate numbers in the end...the points vary only slightly. We addressed passthroughs on the livestream, but with Genevieve's crossbow, not really a problem on deer. With Bunjie...yeah, a problem... Meat & Greet--sign up for the FREE email newsletter on deathbybunjie.com to make sure you get details in the future. We lube up before each shooting event, but only was when the string is not tacky, or before rain. No, we've NOT had issues with Rages failing to deploy; we've used them for a few years and they've performed as expected. Quieting does matter, somewhat--it keeps other deer in the neighborhood from being alarmed and can increase the chances of shooting a second deer (watch this one: bit.ly/2VIulJR . Why was the Scorpyd a little slow? We will address in future videos. But no, there are no 1,000 fps crossbows at this point. The nocks CAN be fixed in place, BUT I'll be changing them out for lighted nocks soon. ALL of these arrows are carbon BTW. I'm not a fan of aluminum since they bend, etc. Alex's channel: bit.ly/2VCHkgF . We COULD do tests on arrow drop BUT the arrow ballistics calculators are really good at that. Bunjie, Jr., and Bunjie with the Spynal Tapps arrows--big difference? No, not really--.02 slugs difference. That's two ONE-HUNDREDTHS of a slug difference. The same for all intents and purposes, at least if you ask the deer, LOL.
Speed tests for the Excalibur Axiom and 355 Micro Suppressor, as well as the new Scorpyd Deathstalker 420...should be a hoot.
This channel is about my love of the crossbow, hunting, and the outdoors. I hunt exclusively with the crossbow. I love it and I aim to help you love it, too!
