Another great trip! An old pair of socks over your boots is great for greasy rocks or verglas!

I was very glad when you got off that ledge - you would do more than harm to yourself if you fell off there I think. That last view of the valley with the stone bridge is quintessentially English countryside to me - gorgeous. Thanks for the video.

All I ever seem to hear on these other camping channels is "God I feel wrecked, couldn't really sleep', but you always manage a solid 7 to 9 hours & fresh as a daisy next morning. Amazing.

As always Andy belting video, makes my blood boil seeing s@@t around from fly campers 🤬 KZbin legend you are thanks from all LEAVE NO TRACE WILD CAMPERS 👊👍🥃

Well said Sir👏👏. There's a big big difference between responsible Wild Campers and Fly or Dirty Campers as I call em giving the responsible Leave No Trace brigade a bad name in the media . Love the way Andy always says As always Leave No Trace at the end . ❤🚮

As always great video mate. Nice to see no mention of camp location. 👍 Too many popular sites getting overused and as you pointed out . Some not always leaving no trace sadly. Right enjoyed the footage of Crowden clough. Only been up the path at side. Looks a cracking little route. ATB 👍

Love the crowden route!! Always alot quieter than its neighbours (Grindsbrooke and Jacobs ladder). Really enjoyed this Andy!! Cheers dude!

Good stuff Andy. The route up the hill that you were talking about (46 mins ish) I come down that way. There is a direct line from Edale rocks rather than the longer rocky PW path round to Jacob's Ladder. It's very steep where it drops to the stream. It's great to run down but I wouldn't fancy going up it with a big pack. You'd be reyt though! 😁

Got caked up big time on yesterdays yomp, decided to avoid dark peak and went on a trig bagger, birchen edge, white edge and big moor even the best boots and leg protection I was ditched and was an adventure more than a hike, more like the days in training we were forced to do it LOL... do they make hiking waders as could do with some LOL. best chat on the best channel!!

I love crowden Clough, it never gets boring, different every time. I'm with you on the adventure foods meals Andy, best value for money of all the brands out there, the only brand that "blew me away" is blá band, their meals are awesome....but cost a lot! Nice video as always 👍🏻
@marko99126 ай бұрын
I'd only consider using the one that's a light as well, dual purpose, otherwise it's just one more piece of kit to worry about and have to recharge. Too many possibilities for things to go wrong. I have the inflation bag you blow into wrapped around the sleeping pad every time after I fold it away. Nothing to worry about and it only takes a minute, and it's silent!

Brilliant Andy 😊 finally managed to watch this in full. I’m up there tomorrow for a wander and some navigation practice. I’m sure the weather man has some clagg, wind and rain up his sleeve to put me to the test. Really enjoyed the part at the end in particular when you discuss the cloughs and your desired camp spot. Good effort with recording the scramble, you’re a better man than me 😂 until next time, stay safe and happy wandering, BW, Sarah

That was a brilliant video Andy. I never tire of the Crowden Clough scramble, it’s a good’un. I believe there is a third route up further to the left of the waterfall than the route you did. Not tried it but will certainly see if I can find it when I’m next in the Peaks. I know what you mean about the litter up there. There’s no excuse but it seems to be getting worse. There was a load of trash in the top of Crowden Brook back in September, absolutely disgusting. I am enjoying exploring little bits of the plateau each time I am in the Peaks and there’s still an awful lot of it to explore. I soon learnt that you can be merrily striding along thinking the going underfoot is firm, to then be ankle if not knee deep in the peat on the next step 🤣 Boy does that Peat take some cleaning off too! I wonder if either Wildboar Clough or the Wilderness Gulley scrambles are in your future video plans? ATB Greg

Cracking vid as always Andrew. Took karen up crowden clough a few year back , just for a wander..first time she had ever done Kinder or the peak district for that matter....if your gonna do it..do it rate...she was not impressed with me.😅 Although she soon became adicted to the peak district. As for the them who leave there rubbish...Stay at home untill you learn some respect.

I'm also no botanist, but I think those smaller dome like mushrooms are just younger fly agarics, they'll keep growing out to almost a flat plate shape. Some absolutely massive ones in Snake Woodland last week!

Cracking video again Andy. Going to try a few more camps in the peaks this winter hopefully. Typical Yorkshireman, twisting about the cost of camping meals 🤣. I notice you take a different approach when it comes to shelling out on Senchi designs clobber. I also have the same addiction. I’ve got 4 Senchi tops so far. Haven’t got any the bottoms……..yet. All the best mate. Thanks for sharing 🙏

I really enjoyed that Andy...guessing it was Monday because i headed up to Kinder on Tuesday Night and woke to an amazing sunrise and hiked the Edge walk all day Wednesday in perfect sunny cold conditions then camped again but woke in the clagg and rain on Thursday morning . Spot on about the meals and Spag Bol and Chicken Curry being the best but now you have let the Cat out of the Bag they will be sold out :) Just about to order some before they sell out :) Did you find out what that Red mushroom was because i seen one too it looked like a Plum Tomatoe ! Can I ask a question? Hi Andy, you did a piece about trail shoes recently. I am thinking of trying some after 40 yrs of boots. How firm and supportive are they of the feet? Are the soles bendy like trainers or do they provide a reasonably strong base? I’m thinking the reduction in weight might give me a benefit in my legs after a decent walk. Thanks for making these films…
@AndrewBeavers6 ай бұрын
ive certainly felt a benefit from them in my knees & hips..the stiffness & aching is minimal compared to wearing boots..the stiffness of the sole will depend on the brand as some have thicker soles than others..im back to my boots now for winter but id certainly give them a try come spring im sure you'll feel a benefit.

Get an army surplus mtp goretex best jacket ever and only cost 22 pound
@insoleandlaces6 ай бұрын
In my experience Gortex or similar does have a limited life span that's why I stayed away over the last 15-20 years. Paramo does last much longer but is warmer and heavier. Recently well 5 years I've purchased Hilltrek jackets that I hope to have 20+ years.
