are you guys washing stones from dust after sieving? i might be wrong, but it can be the reason of cloudinest in resin
@thatguyinwv1547
@thatguyinwv1547 2 жыл бұрын
I'd say that the cloudiness is from the glow powder, every time there's too much white powder mixed into clear resin or ca glue that'll happen. Makes it milkey and not as clear every time.

This is a big thing, the glow powder fogs the reason, but you want more powder for better glow. So you always have to balance it.

I wonder if you might get a more natural-looking vein structure if you cut the gold leaf into strips. These rings look pretty cool, but they have chunks not veins.

Love all the rings you make but.... can you make a ring with glow paint or powder with end glow fiber optics and filled with dark resin in between so you get only glowing dots or would it be hard to charge that kind of a ring 😁

Is it possible to make without a pressure pot or vacuum?
@PatrickAdairDesigns

The epoxy would likely be full of voids but with a lot of effort you may be able to fill in the voids without the end result looking too bad.

When you request a coustom ring do you make it before we pay. Or like is it like we request it and it’s final. I really want a carbon fiber star dust ring with red glow but idk the price.

So we take the payment before we make it. BUT for something like that you can email our support team and they'll give you a quote. Then you only have to pay if you're comfortable with the price

What you did is very good but i`m wondering how it would look like if you clean that turquoise chunks before adding them to resin, also - if you use that glowing powder that has bigger chunks - not dust. Gold flakes - also ok. What i mean - ring would have clear resin with that stone, glowing things and gold flakes, like - avoid cloudy resin.

could probably get a better shape of the ring if you used a dremel and rubber sanding disks to shape the profile by hand and a dowel on the lathe with a sanding card to keep the edges more flat and consistant when sanding up the grits. :)

My dude, put the stones/gems in two ziplock plastic bags and hit the stones/gems in there… Stops you distributing it everywhere and you can see every step whilst you are doing it. The harder the stone/gem the more bags you will need or you can also put a black tea towel between the bag and the bench.

We're fortunate enough that we can do this in a clean shop, and losing incremental amounts isn't the most important part. Our goal is to make sure you can see clearly how it's breaking. Like we said we normally do it in a higher walled container so it ends up much more self contained, but then you can't see the breaking action. A ziplock bag is harder to see through on camera and just doesn't quite look as good imo

The sad thing is not whether it's going to look good it's the quality of stone that you're crushing up and also to the proper curing of the epoxy this is how a 90% of the fake crab just passed back to the public as being authentic and I live in Gallup New Mexico that's roughly 90% of all
