Getting outside of your own head.. the smile was great information to absorb. I find if I just say something kind to ANYONE, it is a big win for my day. Hi Nanny Hi Moosey 😘 omgoodness I totally agree with everything you said ! My mom use to sing a song on the radio called "The best things in life are free" and it's so true! Remember that song? Attitude is free positivity is free, being kind to others is free, taking care of ourselves is free, how we walk talk act is all free. Oh we may need some medication to keep ourselves healthy but taking it the way we should is something we do for ourselves to maintain a happy healthy life! Life is to be enjoyable and every day is such a blessing ! I feel I do not have to dress a certain way or look a certain way I just do me and what makes me feel good ! Thank you for the shout out and coming over to my house for ur lymphatic drainage class lol lol I do love to massage and guess what it's free! :) Your Easter hats were adorable ! You are so blessed with a beautiful family ! Love and hugs to you and to Moose too! Barb! 🙏❤️❤️ Ps yes my mom and dad had a radio show in PGH and mom was an amazing singer ! They called her the Sunshine girl ! Daddy played guitar and did comedy skits called Life of Tony and Joe! They were amazing 🙏❤️

@@crushingtheir80snannyandmoose Yes they were on the radio for a few years and also did minstrel shows! My mother could've been a professional singer but she was too shy and nervous. Which was crazy because when they were on the radio she performed in front of an audience sometimes and that's where they broadcast from in the live studio. Something about her being on TV or being famous just she panicked. My whole family were great musicians and singers. I remember going to the shows when I was really little like maybe 3, 4 or5 years old and sitting in the audience and watching them I was like wow that's my folks :) ❤️❤️love u to pieces and again thank u for the beautiful shout out ! ❤️

Hi Nanny. I'm a 63 year old, newly widowed woman. My soulmate of 45 years passed away on May 10th, so it's been a real struggle. In fact I'm guilty of curling up inside. I really needed your pep talk. I have wonderful children and grandchildren I need to be there for. They've all let me know I'm falling down on the job. It's so scary when you think you've lost control of your life. Deep down inside I know I have a lot to be thankful for. I'm going to work hard on your 10, stay in life, suggestions. I love watching your videos. You remind me of my mother, with such a wonderful attitude towards life. Love Moosie too! God bless you!!!

Oh, CathY….you are too young to have lost your dear soul mate…especially after so many years together…, and I can truly understand your struggles. But you must remember that God has blessed you with wonderful children and grandchildren and your husband would want you to totally embrace them and include them in your present daily life…that’s what family is for…not everyone has loved ones to help them like you do. They are obviously crying out for you now….please do this for yourself, your children and your beloved husband…It’s the only way to heal…God bless you, CathY…please keep me posted on your healing and family connections…Big hugs and my love, Nanny🙏❤️

Nanny, you hit the nail on the head with all ten points. I make the effort every day with all. The one thing that I lack is exercise. Because of physical issues, I am limited. But I try to keep busy. I do everything myself around my home and yard except mowing. I saw that you paired the beautiful blazer with your Easter bonnet. You were beautiful as always. But the beautiful birthday girl in her little hat probably stole the show. I hope that you have a wonderful day. Blessings to you both, love, Sharon

Not that I wouldn't cross the world for him but, it's hard on my body with chronic pain to go over several mountains so, I have to prepare mentally as well as physically for that trip. You certainly help me see things through a brighter lense & I'm so Grateful for you and your Moosey coming into my life via KZbin. I hear you, MM….on those frequent long car trips for Hubby’s Dr. visits…you are not alone…we had 2 of those trips this week….I can imagine , though, that your trips sound very grueling…through mountain ranges! We, as caregivers, have to sometimes be reminded that we are grateful for the ability to be of help, despite our own health issues. I sometimes worry that if I, at 84. became unable to do what I do….we’d be in a big pickle! Make sure to take care of yourself, too, MM…I am sorry you are in pain. God bless you both..My love and big hugs, ❤️🙏

Hi Nanny, What a fabulous video you are a wonderful example of what it means to be “ageless”. I try to do most of the things on your list daily. I am eating better and exercising more now than I ever have. I should have started 40 years ago…better late than never! Regular dental check ups are important also…every time I go I ask my dentist to extract my “sweet tooth” he just smiles and says “see you in six month”.Best you and yours always. lol xx

I do most of those ten things every week. I move as much as I can. I play bridge twice a week and eat pretty healthy most of the time. Ours family is very close and get together often. I live in a senior community in my own villa and go to lunch with the ladies here every Monday. I too am a type 2 diabetic but no longer have to take medication because I watch my diet. Love clothes but also shop SHEIN, Walmart, Amazon and even Kroger ( our grocery). I will be turning 83 in May and I stopped coloring my hair when I turned 50. I now love my silver hair and have let it grow into a longer bob….love

Great video Nanny. We all need a little encouragement to live a little and enjoy life in our senior journey. Too many of us, are just waiting around and not living life. The one thing I would add is laughter. Try to laugh everyday and if the plumbing or electric breaks down or the dinner fails…….So what, as you say there is always a solution and maybe a good story to tell. Someone else may get a good laugh out of it.

Absolutely wonderful advice Nanny! I follow all of your points, as well as a couple more. I teach lymphatic breathing for cancer patients. Although it's not a cosmetic treatment, it helps internally to keep the lymphatic fluid moving through the body. Also I find taking a moment or two helping someone, perhaps just a phone call to a lonely friend, or sending a card. This I believe gives you a feeling of purpose, outside of yourself. Ageless for sure! Bravo Nanny!!!!!

Great vlog! I look for when you post it is always like having my friend over while sitting in my living room! When your on my husband or I will say “Nanny’s in the house!” You sure bring us smiles. Your tips are spot on. I to have diabetes and go every 3-4 mos. for blood work. I must also be mindful of what I eat and my cholesterol but thank God I am doing great and am healthy and mobile. I love walking! I also love keeping busy. I admit I am on my laptop a lot because I run my own political blog and I have a team member who writes on there once a week or so. It’s like a business I do not get paid for but it keeps me engaged and you’d be surprised how many people are running a blog. One lady is in assisted living and has her own political blog. She is sharp as a tack! I miss the gardening but am investing soon as I told you before on indoor herbs 🌿- such fun. I see you love Walmart like me! Do you believe I found a pair of velour sweat pants on sale that rang up for $1.00. My jaw dropped when the cashier said it was correct! Made my day! I use all your tips and btw I buy kale and then do not eat it. So I do substitute with spinach which I love. We also eat salmon (not as often as I should so I do Omega 3) and avocados and we love blueberries. Also they say black raspberries are the best for your heart so I eat them too! Thanks for the awesome vlog and wishing you and Moosie all the best! God bless you and yours and all who visit here. Hugs, Elizabeth ♥️🤗♥️🌸💕🌹

Dear Nanny, you are making the best of life's bumps in the road. Sometimes I need to remember that if I act happier than I feel, I will feel happier than I did. I also tore a meniscus, but mine was in the part that doesn't heal and reqired a "trim," and now it continues to tear. You are on the right track! Healing will take time, but it's worth the wait. Potty tips: Amazon carries several options for toilet arms to help getting up and down. Amazon also carries affordable, add-on toilet bidets that I installed by myself (77 years old). Of couse, I only hooked up the cold water, but we Minnesotans are a hearty bunch. Merry Christmas to you, Moosie, and your lovely family. The "Dunch Lady."

I've recently heard about "Chair yoga" I think it's a great idea for soft exercise. There are videos here on youtube. Thank you for mentioning the importance of good posture! 🌼🌼🌼🌼 It was very interesting to hear about american easter traditions in the video before this one. In Denmark we have easter lunches, with many traditional small dishes, to be put on rye bread, or regular bread. And when the special Easter beer is released, amongst the younger generation, you are reminded that the Danes are just vikings in modern clothes. Children get big cardboard half eggs, crammed with goodies and chocolate bunnies. A lot of danes will go to church.

One thing..my chiropractor told me that if you have not had good posture for a few years, just hold your back up straight ,but DON"T put your shoulders back. That is asking for neck pain and poss ongoing problems. thnx so much..loved your video!

Nanny! Thank you for this thoughtful list, all of them tried and true. I loved your description of the EO (emotional meltdown). I'm going to coin that phrase too bc sometimes I have those too and then feel guilty. The photos of yourself and your Easter people in their hats were glorious. You've clearly distributed your classy attitude amongst your family members generously. I usually feel quite ageless as I do practice all of your 10 tips (like you, not perfectly, but they're always in my mind) but I occasionally get these mind numbing moments (often in the middle of the night) when the specter of my age flashes in front of my eyes in flashing neon lights. If I use one of the tips you suggest, or get up and drink a big glass of water if it's the middle of the night, I can get myself calmly back to knowing I'm okay. I smiled that you said to watch Barb when she said you were actually with her in her living room and would be having tea with her after she got her makeup back on. I love both of you and would dearly love to be invited to that tea (even if it was imaginary). I love your vitality and thank you for passing it on. xo karen

Nanny - re- the end and Easter- we wold have boiled eggs and painted them with my daddy and then went to a local park that was very steep and we rolled our eggs and then loved cracking them open and eating the hard boiled eggs- heading home for chocolate ones lol. Every Easter, Christmas and any holiday time - my mother took the 3 of us for a complete new outfit - a lady stopped me when i was an adult and said "you 3 were the best dressed children in this area.."" - Your tips are spot on - instinctively follow most of them anyway- eat healthy but none of the foods you mention - do like dark green vegetables, brocolli, cabbage, brussel sprouts etc. Take care Nanny - stay wonderful x

I would love to see a video on how you manage type two diabetes.
@crushingtheir80snannyandmoose2 жыл бұрын
I have been a diabetic for 18 years now, Kimberly, (late onset) and have always taken metformin and TRIED to watch my diet, weight and exercise…I have been very lucky to have had no complications or problems and pretty much stay within the ‘right numbers’ with the regular bloodwork and Dr. Visits. I know that white rice and of course, birthday cake and sweets will spike my sugar count..For years I checked my numbers several times a day and recorded it…this helped me to “know” what made me go up or down. Now I don’t daily check so much. I eat one full meal a day usually at 4…sometimes intermittent fasting..and have veggies or an avocado or smoked salmon or an egg for breakfast…crazy, I know?! Hope this answers your question, Kimberly…❤️

@@crushingtheir80snannyandmoose You're in a warmer climate. I'm sorry I was thinking of many of us in the northeast who don't see the sun all that much in the winter. Speaking for myself it's important to look good if only for the fact I own a mirror or two. Hahahaha. I don't like scaring myself.
