Spoilers regarding this video below: Those upset about my choosing to not try to reason with Sarah is simply this: Someone like her simply will not last in the world that is reality (in the game) now. She was a wreck, and she would stay a wreck. She was sheltered for far too long, and never given a chance to grow up into an independent person. It's not her fault though, it's the parenting decisions of her father that led this to happen. She was a lost cause because of this, and if he taught her like Lee taught Clem, how to defend herself, what to do in situations, etc. then maybe she would have had a better chance. But her dragging everyone down and risking the lives of everyone is far more of a liability than one can handle in the situation at hand. So yes it's harsh. But that's how reality is when everything has gone to shit: Harsh. Wicky wicky wow bappity zow, mofucka.

I just love Clementine's animation for when Kenny is yelling about her getting people killed. You can tell that that subject actually really hurts her because of what happened to Lee and some other people back in season one. I know she's just a fictional character, but that animation looked more real than most think.

Of course I see how people are easily upset with the issue of leaving a person behind, but that just shows how much your thoughts change throughout playing the series. It's just a bunch of quicktime events, just like it has to be, you're under pressure and you rely on yourself to do the right choice. At the start you have hopes for saving everyone, which commonly makes you have more hope, the more you play this series and the more you realize how hard it gets to save people, the more your instincts get self based, not group based. Of course it's a horrible way to leave someone for dead like this, but it seems like she just had no chance anyways. Plus, it being timed and not giving you the option to throughoutly think about the situation you secondly think about the thing that's right. I'd probably would've left her there as well if it was me playing, not because I'm a horrible monster, but because it's a theme of survival of the fittest. People also need to stop taking this shit so seriously, obviously it's just a game, 5000% sure we won't be getting a zombie apocalypse anytime soon.

Sarah is more realistic of what someone would do in the Walking Dead, at least a teenager that is. People would panic and run, like Sarah, and they would cry, like Sarah. The difference, they would accept it, and move on. I didn't understand why so many people saved Sarah, but I realize that in the zombie apocalypse, losing humanity is losing the reason you chose to fight.
@Jester_Jingles9 жыл бұрын
But you would get used to it eventually where as Sarah would not. And she is too sensitive for a zombie apocalypse.

@UltimateDumbass169 жыл бұрын
White Assimilation Look, your right, people would shut down like Sarah. Which is WHY we have to help each other. Tbh, I think she WOULD have accepted it and moved on, eventually. Some people take longer than others, especially people who have been sheltered since birth. If she hadnt died later on (even if you save her now) I think she actually would have eventually accepted it, and maybe let Clem teach her how to survive. But youre right. People will act that way in a zombie apocalypse, and we cant abandon each other, even if we think they are useless. If we start killing each other, then there is no hope for someone to survive.

It is really fucked up that some people are happy with leaving Sarah. It doesn't matter if she was annoying, she was just a kid. She wasn't like Clementine, she didn't get to learn how to survive by herself. Clementine was with Lee for so long, it didn't come as a life breaker when she saw her parents as zombies. Sarah relied on her father, to a fault. He sheltered her for so long, she didn't know HOW to get by without him. I'm not saying that leaving her was the wrong choice. She would have been a huge liability to the group and (spoiler) she would have died anyway. But no one should be happy about her death just because she was a little irritating. Rant over. I know it's just a game, but these characters are so realistic it's hard not to care about them.
@Bootstrap62610 жыл бұрын
I said this someone else, but i'll say it again :) I don't think she deserved to "Die", but she WANTED to stay, and she decided she wasn't going to move, showing she didn't want to work with the group, in that case, i'd probably leave her behind, i mean it is what she wanted and i'd try to convince her, but you're endangering the lives of everyone else in the room for an uncoopreative team mate. If she dies i have no qualms about it because it was her own choice to stay there.
@Starcraftgamer9710 жыл бұрын
Bootstrap626 real fast: how would we have known what she wanted? In her state of mind: how would she have known what she wanted? The sudden realization of the situation and the calling out to Clementine show that she snapped out of it but, as everyone knows, it was to late. It's one thing to say that about someone who ends up verbalizing they want to die (like season 1 finale of the TV show) but Sarah did simply not know what to do. I'd say put yourself in her shoes, personality, and situations then you wouldn't think she would have wanted to stay.
@Bootstrap62610 жыл бұрын
Starcraftgamer97 Okay, lets say she wanted to go (It seems you ignored about half of my argument), if she couldn't handle moving or getting motivated to move at that point she was putting Luke's, Jane's, and Clem's life at risk. We are not in Sarah's shoes, we are in Clementine's. You put yourself in Clem's shoes and ask is putting three lives at risk worth saving one who doesn't seem to want to cooperate with you?
@Starcraftgamer9710 жыл бұрын
Bootstrap626 no i didn't ignore your argument. your argument was that in the end you had no qualms about leaving her behind (aka not feeling bad, at least to me) and that it was her choice to stay there (i.e. her wanting to). I don't want to get into a whole bitch fight about this because there isn't a need for it and I only said that wasn't the case because she basically had no control over staying or not because of how damaged her sanity had become. That's why the other choice, from what I understand, is basically Clementine slapping her to her SENSES. That is the only problem I had with your argument. Sarah didn't want to be there and wasn't in control. I only said imagine you were in Sarah's shoes (I think I know you are in Clem's shoes obviously) because of her mental state. In the end, if she wouldn't respond to me grabbing her or verbal encouraging, I'd then do the hard choice. I'd make sure everyone else was out and safe or I'd leave her. I'm sorry but you are the one who took my argument out of proportion so have a nice night.

Kenny pisses me off. Seriously. He's such a hypocrite. Loves people only if they do what he wants, starts to blame everyone for everything once things start go to hell for him. He killed Lily's dad in Season 1 and was like, "He was already dead, deal with it." Did he have the right to do it? Now Sarita would've died anyway, and he's like "Screw you, it's all your fault." So fucking late, but really? The fucking guy's losing it. Can you blame him? He lost his *son* in a fucked up world. He lost his *wife* in a fucked up world. In a fucked up world where his son and his wife, his family was his only light and hope. Did you see how much he grieved? He was finally fucking happy with another woman, a place to stay, friends: another piece of hope for him to pull through, and with Clem, enlarging that hope. But what the fuck happened? He lost his piece of hope. He grieved so much over that hope, his love, his friends, he forgot about Clem and the good things upon him. And with getting kidnapped, Carver beating the shit out of him, being in a bad health state ruined him. Can you really blame him? What the fuck would you do in that situation, huh? You'd be a crying, given up, fucking disaster. It pisses me off when people say things about Kenny. Watch the whole series again if you need a fucking reminder of what happened to him. Not trying to be rude, but fucking think about what people have been through, before judging them and saying they "piss you off". Good day. :>
@vieli98868 жыл бұрын
I see what you're saying, aswell. But Kenny chose to make a fuss over the train because he knew Duck was dying. He knew Duck was going to die. He didn't want to believe it. No, not at all. Which is why he kept hoping that he could just kept going until they make their destination, pushing dark thoughts into the back of his mind. He almost made himself believe it. Which is why Lee had to beat him to make him snap out of it. Plus, Duck was in no shape to spend time with Kenny. Poor kid could barely walk or even open his eyes. It'd be just depressing staring at his dying son. Not really "spending time", is it? And do you really get what "grieving" means? It disables everyone and everything around you and you just focus on that horrible fucking feeling. And it's no small one. Like I said, he lost his family, found another woman, she died as well. Plus, it happened so fast, Kenny didn't have any time to analyze. What would you do if your beloved one was getting chowed by the undead? Which is why he skipped the analyzing part, jumped to grieving and action. But later, he thinks over about it, and apologizes. See? Just need a little bit of analyzing and thinking. But you really can't compare two *different* characters. Yes, Kenny's a grown ass man with tough balls, but can't get his shit together. Also, remember. He wasn't always like this. He was strong. Their world is fucked up. And Clem on the other hand, is a child, handling the apocalypse, doing everything for everyone. She also went through horrible things, even for a 8-11 yr old. Like you said. I agree, Kenny fucking needs to get his shit together, but I honestly don't push him or blame him. That is all. :>

The moment I played this part with Sarah, the sooner I anticipated the comments. "God I'm glad she died, she was weak" or something worse. But why would you say that when it wasn't her fault but Carlos' fault ? Plus, if you watched your father, the only one left of your family, die in front of you, eated by walkers, would you just be like "Oh, cool." ? Carlos also said she had a disease and someone in the comments brought slight autism, that may be right. I'm just sick of everyone hating on Sarah even when she died the most cruel way of the series. I didn't know if slapping her was gonna make her come so I left her behind and it was the worst decision I did in the two seasons this game have. When she said "Clementine", I almost cried. Maybe I'm oversensitive...

In a situation like that, you have to consider a lot. In the end, when people die, you won't always have the chance to mourn them and recover slowly. You have to have the power to swallow your emotions and think logically. Something I am glad to be able to do sometimes. My friend had a dog that got some kind of disease and he went mad. He bit my friend's dad and chased my friend's younger sister. We caught him and he wouldn't stop. He just kept going. In the end, we had to make a choice. So yeah.
@SHScooby10 жыл бұрын
Zanzagnarius I know but not mourning Sarah and hating her for something stupid are two different things. Let me do a comparison for you guys. For one, the only reason I do this is because you need someone like Sarah. She's amazing to me, ffs. Here's the thing, going along with Dragon, since I didn't realize that. Clem when Lee first found her was useless. USELESS. Until the train, and even then on, only when she shot about what? Three people.. She almost got herself killed in that jailcell trying to get the blowtorch. She watches you die if you don't kill her baby sitter. Just, what the fuck? In this case, Sarah is better then first season Clementine. The only thing S1 Clem, and Sarah have in common is intelligence. You don't have to be a full on murderer to survive the fucking apocalypse. But what? That's the only thing Sarah didn't do? Kill? OH. WELL SHIT. In Carvers camp, her dad hit her for the first time. FUCKING HARD. A big event to us? No. For her? Yeah. That's why she was unresponsive. She watched her dad get eaten alive. That girl was still able to come with you if you convinced her. She's stronger then any of these fucks that want her dead.
@TehSlice36010 жыл бұрын
I find it odd how people think it's okay to kill off a scared little girl. Doesn't Sarah remind you of anyone in particular? Sarah is JUST like Clem when you find her in Season 1. Lee took her under his wing, showed her the full thing, what was going on, and he molded her into a survivor. He made sure she grew up. It's not Sarah's fault that she's been sheltered in some cabin by a shitty father. Or that she has some sort of mental disorder, if that's the case. And yes, you can save her, without anyone getting killed because of it. I literally just did it in my playthrough. If Clementine could grow up and cope with someone to teach her, Sarah could too.
@jinx178 жыл бұрын
She dies either way, in both cases because you couldn't retrieve her. Thing is, if this were to ever be a situation, self preservation will kick in at some point, and I wouldn't risk my life at that point. It's easier to say you'd try to save everyone when it's a just video game.

I'm not saying I'm sad or saying that he's doing the wrong thing. I'm just saying that this game is amazing and it's experience is so deep.... That it changes the player.
@TehSlice36010 жыл бұрын
That's what this game does well, it shows you how you'd change, if you would. I personally killed Ben because he staight up killed Katja and Duck. I shot Lee because any worthwhile being doesn't let someone you love rot in chains for who knows how long. And I also saved Sarah. It's not her fault she had a father that oversheltered her, or that she's got some sort of personality disorder. And without spoiling anything, I'll just say that I see alot of Clem in Sarah, when Lee found her. Lee didn't just leave her to die to the babysitter, he took her with him, and taught her how to survive, he made her grow up. I'd like to think Clementine would pass that on to Sarah. And she does in my game.
@MsWannabeGamer10 жыл бұрын
That's the point, I think. The game makes Clementine grow into her own and makes the player more skeptical, less trusting and less naive. Unlike in Season 1, it makes the player question whether trust and help is a good thing. And as we can see, it often is not.
@reeseundone994310 жыл бұрын
I agree. Cry did change alot this year. But seeing the Walking Dead would change everyone, right? Seeing how this would (most likely) be life if this did happen. I mean I would save Ben, spare Lee, but then for now I'd convince Rebbecca, and I would TRY to at least save Sarah. But back to the point. Cry this time was less agitated then ever! I'm agreeing that the world has dragged Cry into there dimension, I see him quite different then before.

Okay, wtf. In season one, I really liked Ben, but at least half the fandom hated him. Now I start to care about Sarah, and literally *everyone* hates her. Am I just getting attached to the wrong characters or something?
@Mwuuh9 жыл бұрын
some genderfluid nerd When Carlos mentioned that Sarah was different and I noticed how she responded to things, I thought to myself, "huh, I can relate to her, I like her." And then everyone hates her. Huh. Nice to see that a character with flaws, mental flaws included, is so liked and loved(!) It's almost as if people with mental conditions aren't considered to be as valued as others(!) In all fairness, though, I believe that due to my resemblance to her I'd be a lost cause in this situation as well. Hell, I can't even decide what colour I want on my car without freaking out. I'd be a walking corpse within two days. So yeah, I cared about Sarah, too, and I had really hoped she'd survive (apparently she dies even if you choose to convince her to leave the caravan).

Rick lang -sigh- Yeah, I know. Lord knows how many times I've thought to myself that if the zombie apocalypse ever happens (which I don't believe will happen, really) I'd probably off myself as soon as possible, like that couple in season one who lived next to the attic where the starved boy zombie was. For my own sake, and for others'. Still, it's a bit upsetting to see so much hatred towards an autistic teenage girl, even if she is a fictional character.
@Mwuuh9 жыл бұрын
***** It definitely seemed to me that she has Asperger's, a very mild variant of autism. The way she froze up and panicked, so much so that human contact was unacceptable (Clem trying to hug her), and how she'd freak out whenever asked to do something she had no clue about (the plant thing). I might be totally wrong, of course, but I do believe Sarah had Asperger's, or something similar.
@Mwuuh9 жыл бұрын
***** Oh, definitely, but Asperger's is a very mild variation of it. The mildest, I think? Again, I could very possibly be wrong, and I'd be happy if someone more knowledgable than me would correct me should I be wrong, but I still do believe Sarah has Asperger's. I have a friend who has it, and he's pretty friendly and chatty, but also introverted and quiet on occasion.

Honestly, I would've done the same thing with Sarah. If I was in that same situation, my first instinct would've been to get the hell out of there as fast as I could. I would've felt terrible but I still would just run away. I definitely would not be able to think clearly enough to think of a way of saving Sarah with all those walkers around. Ultimately though, it's not her fault. Carlos should not have sheltered her like he did, I don't care how severe her panic disorder is, you don't do that in this kind of situation. You don't really think about how disabled people would fare in the apocalypse. I agree that Sarah didn't deserve to die but in this world with the way she is, I feel that it was gonna happen eventually.

For those defending Sarah: you say that she had a right to sit there and get the group killed because her father died? Clem killed a man, found both of her parents as walkers and lost her surrogate father in a span of an hour when she was 9 YEARS OLD. Sarah is 15! Yes, she probably had a mental deficiency holding her back and yes, Carlos weakened her, but in a dangerous world like this, you don't get a free pass because of your past. You HAVE to rise, or you die. Like Chuck said (paraphrasing), "There is no young or old...only alive and dead". Would you be complaining if it was Nick, Luke, Kenny, Jane, Rebecca, Alvin, Lee, Ben, Katjaa, Chuck, Molly, Larry, Lilly, Carly, or Doug sitting on that ground there? No, you wouldn't, because they aren't "young and helpless".

I'm just glad that you have enough respect for the game, the voice actors, the guys who set and scripted everything, I'm glad that you have respect at all. As much as I appreciated you before, I appreciate you 10 times more for that.

People just stop hating on Sarah! She might bring the group down, but she is the most realistic child in the game. Carlos raised her that way, Lee raised Clementine differently. If you are a what, 12 year old losing your dad on a zombie appocalypse. Wouldn't you freak out too? Sarah should die in a rather painless way. Like sending someone to kill her. Being eaten alive is one of the worse ways to die. Come on, SHES JUST A CHILD THAT DOESNT KNOW WHATS GOING ON. She should be toughen up, but that's all I'm saying. She is annoying, yes. She's easily traumatized, yes. But doesn't mean she should be treated like shit!
@cybel94729 жыл бұрын
In my opinion, any kid would have been independent if brought up the way Clem was, I was brought up being taught verbally how to survive on my own, just in case something were to ever happen, and I got separated from my parents, so basically the character and skills of a person are defined by the attitudes of their parents. Our parents are the main reason for our personality as children.

I respect Cry's decision, and honestly, if I were any other person, in a 'normal' family, I would have chosen the same. But my little brother is autistic, and when I see Sarah, I see a bit of him. If a zombie apocalypse did occur, or myself and my brother were left in some apocalyptic world where we had to survive, I wouldn't know what to do. I can't let him die, and if I died, like Carlos did, who would take care of him? Could he survive? If he found people, would they leave him behind too? But that's just me thinking too much into the situation, putting my own context into it XD On a different note, don't get mad at Cry for his decisions, guys. He's only doing what he thinks is best. Besides, it's only a video game XD Can't wait to see what happens next c:
@teamLNearMello10 жыл бұрын
I don't think you're thinking too much about the situation. You're actually rational and sympathetic about what happened to Sarah, by thinking of your brother. When it comes to this video game, I think of the characters as if they were real people. Seeing all this hate towards Sarah makes me feel sick, because I know people like her are real and need understanding, at least. I know two little boys who have autism and act like Sarah had. I wonder how many people would just so easily give up on them, too.

Well she kinda isnt a little girl mostly because she is older than Clementine so i wouldnt say that she is a "little girl", i agree with you in the fact that she didnt deserve to die, NOBODY deserves to die like that, but lets be honest, we all know she wasnt gonna make it, the reason for this being that Carlos never teached her to survive and be strong, just like Lee did with Clementine.

I like Jane, can't wait until we get to know what happened to her sister. As for Shara while she didn't really deserve to die she also had it coming in a way. Yes it wasn't her fault her dad was lying to her about what was going on but at the same time when she did learn she should have tried harder to over come issues she had so she could be at least be a bit ready for situations. So if you think about it in a way it's her dad's fault this happened, in a zombie Apocalypse you have to let your child know so you can make sure if anything ever happens to you they can be prepared.

Ok people should stop the hate on Sarah, honestly it's not her fault her father brought her up the way he did, he chose to shelter her and keep her innocence and unfortunately that led to her death, but that doesn't mean she had a disability or anything or that she was just a baby or useless, she can't help the fact that she's traumatized by her fathers death. And all those people saying "oh i wouldn't be like her and I'd just deal with it" she's 12! Just think if you were 12 and you saw someone you loved die right Infront of you in probably the worst way possible, i guarantee most of you wouldn't be like "aw yeah im chill m8 let's carry on bro" cause im telling you that wouldn't happen you'd probably break down and go into shock, HER FATHER WAS LITERALLY EATEN INFRONT OF HER! Who the hell wouldn't go into shock from something that traumatizing. And all those people bashing cry for leaving her there, honestly she dies anyways, and while he may not know that, she was in shock from all the crap she's gone through and wouldn't have done much for the group and the whole point of this game is trying to survive, in a situation like that a lot of people probably would have left her knowing full well they can't do anything for her. Personally I would've killed her myself so she wouldn't have to be eaten, but that's not an option in the game. Just my opinion however

+FionaTellsStories She obviously has panic attacks. When you have those, you cannot force yourself through it. It's debilitating. It doesn't mean she deserved to die, any more than the cancer survivors in Season 1.

you did the right thing, that's more or likely how it would have gone down if it was a real life situation

Sara might have been annoying and naive, but she's a reflection of how I would react in that situation. I grew up without a mother, my father means the world to me. I dread the day he will disappear from my life, and if he died right in front of my eyes like that, I don't think I would have the courage to go on. I would shut down. Still, after some time I would have to accept reality for what it is, and try to move on. I think Sara deserved a chance to move on. Everything just happened so suddenly, she didn't have the time to cope with it all. I really wish he would have saved her.
@itsReGiiT10 жыл бұрын
she didn't just lose somebody. her father lied about everything going on. suddenly seeing ppl die and loved ones getting turned out of nowhere, would be a big shock. especially for such a young kid.
@saintabby210 жыл бұрын
People cope in different ways. Some shut down to the world and some shut down their emotions and just keep moving forward. Its not her fault that she copes in that way.
@joycelee973810 жыл бұрын
Exactly. You can't blame Carlos for it either. Having a child and looking at her as the most precious thing in the world, you wouldn't want to ruin her innocence. So you can't blame Sarah. I probably would've been a Sarah, because it all comes down to our lifestyles and personalities in the end. Some of us are simply too weak to survive, but that doesn't mean that Sarah deserved to die. I see a lot of people saying that she was annoying and whiny but most of us would have reacted the same way. Seeing everybody eaten alive or shot in front of you, being ripped out of your beautiful lie like that, it's simply not easy to "suck it up". Nobody deserves to die.
@thetwilightspirit6910 жыл бұрын
Joyce Lee I can't blame Carlos for trying to protect his own daughter, the person he treasures the most. He loved Sarah, he was just trying to protect her by shielding her from all the cruelty and horrors in the world. He had good intentions, but it backfired. It can't be easy raising a child in a world like that. My dad would do the same. Anyway, sooner or later everyone bites the dust. Some sooner than others, but that doesnt mean they deserve it. It wasn't Sarah's fault that she wasn't prepared for all the shit that happend. I get it, the world ain't fair, but you can still do your best to protect your friends. I respect Cry's choice, but I do not agree with it. I can't agree with leaving a young girl to be eaten alive, when you could have saved her.

This game messes with our emotions and we become attached to the characters only to have be killed off in a brutal fashion. This is the cycle of all zombie media.

I have to say Cry did the right thing by leaving Sarah behind. She was a liability to the group and was only going to cause problems for them. PLUS she was really annoying and such a hindrance to EVERYONE.
@RedCandy4410 жыл бұрын
I knew should would have died anyway because she didn't know any better (To fight for herself) Yes her father did protect her and pretty much hid her from reality. But look at Clems perspective, She did have Lee and yes she did have more time to adjust to the new world but Clem was smart and she understood that if she didn't change she was going to die. But Sarah also had others helping her like Luke and pretty much half of the group telling her what she should do to survive but she never listened. Sarah just refused the fact that she had to grow up because she thought everyone would help and protect her so she didn't need to get her hands dirty. She just needed to grow up and face reality.

I agree with Red here :P Sarah just screwed everything up and blamed others for her problems.

She dies anyway, and every single (good) game will have that character that causes problems or splits up the group...? I don't get why so much people complain and complain about her.
@295Phoenix10 жыл бұрын
RatchetJean Just because she's not at fault doesn't make her not a liability. It also wasn't Ben's fault that he was a moron (probably) but the group would've been better off if Lee chucked him off the train in Ep.3. In the Apocalypse the only question to ask is whether your group is better off or at least as good without the guy/girl in question and if the answer is yes then it's best to kick their ass out of the group before they fuck you over with their stupidity.

Cry, I have to give you props. I don't know if it's just me, but the music at the end of this video really fit. And I would've left her, too. But that, "Clementine?" right before the zombies got to her killed me.

You little trooper. I'm so proud of u for going through it again, editing, /and/ posting on time with your usual schedule. Really. I tease a lot, but you can be damn good at this KZbin stuff, you know. Actual professionalism is dedication and awareness to detail - you max out on both accounts, b. And you know what? Apart from the obvious bit, I didn't even notice anything wrong, which is just a testament to the real effort you put in, I can't get over how talented you are. Bloody hell, this is mushy stuff, I'll stop now, it's safe. Also: I am in love with Jane. And I really, really frigging miss Lee.
@jrfras9 жыл бұрын
As soon as Sarah showed up I knew it would come down to that. She was just a liability, it's ruthless but true. You cannot save an already lost cause. Bad zombie apocalypse parenting, combined with her condition that would always need to be saved and never save someone or even help much.

Since many people are saying their thoughts, ill say mine. Thanks Telltale. You kill off 2/3 characters and make one mentally unstable-in a way. I should expect it but it still makes me sad. I felt so sad for Sarah, when she went "Clementine?" It was so...just... she reminded me of clem from the first season, she can change to be a survivor. Im hoping that the potential baby will be under clems wing. Poor sarah though, no one should go like that. When she yelled Daddy ... damn. It was Carlos's fault!
