Your theory about starving the demon aligns with my theory about why there's so much child sexual abuse amongst catholic priests. Roman catholics are told to chain their demons, especially those amongst the clergy. It just allows those demons to become stronger till it results in permanent corruption of the soul.

i've triggered some people with how much of an outcast i am. i think some ppl think that everyone wants to fit in (or they believe everyone SHOULD want to) and it PAINS them to witness my existence. i feel quite disgusted with folks like that. sometimes they help me but i still find them distasteful. and also i feel like my entire university existence makes sense using this theory. i thought i was ENFP but now i realise i was actually tapping into my ESFP subconscious as an INTJ. i always felt EXHAUSTED. What you said about suffering being the path to wisdom reminds me of the Norse myth where Odin sacrifices his eye to gain wisdom... An interesting parallel, I think. That was also a fascinating interpretation of Matt 16:25, one I've never heard before. Also, I actually love that you're willing to shamelessly criticize every type and "burn people with the fire of truth" because so few people are willing to do that these days. Snowflake mentality and all. As an ENTJ coming from a family dominated by NF types, I find it extremely refreshing. Whenever you say, "DON'T DO THAT, people!" I find myself chuckling, even if the criticism is directed at me. I just love how direct and uncompromising you're willing to be. 👍

My mom was an ESTP. She beat me and my family all the time just because she felt like it...She thought of us all as the lowest of the low but when we did everything she told us to do she would still lash out at us and be abusive. Never made any sense and I moved out of her house at 11 years old. Come to think of it I believe her insecurity was not feeling loved. But It was impossible to give her that love because she would always push people away and become this insane person that put themselves in a cage. Paired with the drugs and alcohol and uncontious sex she stated having since she was 12, unfortunately I dont think she will ever change. Shes 37 now and I'm 19 and I am doing very well if you are wondering but she is still the same person with no improvement. Thank you for helping me understand how ESTPs work though.

I'm sorry you had to experience that. I know someone to who has become corrupted through childhood sexual abuse and it's a long road to recovery and some people like your mother will never have the opportunity to heal and to become whole again. I think at this point in her life, there's nothing you can do for her, she has to acknowledge and atone for her sins based on her own free will and start her life over. Some people have to lose everything they care about before they can find the strength to do that.

Just wanna reinforce his point at 31:10. 29:10 which is why a crumbling relationship and breakups aren't necessarily a bad thing. In some ways, it might actually be a blessing in disguise; an opportunity for character development. Cause the ones who did, have experienced and seen all 4 sides of themselves, even their superego and demon. Yes you're hurting but don't get stuck in your super ego. Allow new life to grow. Using your ego, subconscious and unconscious, you've tried everything you can to make the relationship work but it just doesn't (a rock bottom relationship. Sounds familiar?). So nearing the end of the relationship, as a final attempt, you're desperate and have nothing to lose, so you blow up, release everything and let your superego take over (29:30). During that stage, somehow you've never felt so shit and so good good at the same time. So to anyone who is currently going through a rough time, remember that sure, breakups hurt, but never allow yourself to wallow in sadness for too long or else you'll be stuck there forever. Allow new life to grow (29:45), and this is how we improve ourselves as human beings. Your -friendly- neighborhood INTP. And thank INFJ Jesus for blessing us with C.S. Joseph's channel cause that mans a genius (am not a christian btw).

The idea of trying to beat someone up to make then stronger really compares to how people will also use emotional and mental abuse to do the same thing. As a therapist, trauma is a super powerful thing. I had a super super shitty upbringing which made me live in my angry ENTP shadow until about two years ago (21). I use my superego a lot more than I'd like and often emulate an INFP because that's what philosophy demands. First year I tried INTJ ego to philosophy, failed miserably. But growing up, all the abuse I experienced made me use the concrete approach to learn from past experience to avoid abuse in the future. It worked super well for me, but I still use it a lot even though it's not my preference. It's more out of habit now. Also having a mother with BPD mother, you either have the choice of emotions or anger to cope. I chose emotions as I have Fi, so now I have a hyper developed Fi. I don't use it as much as I did to navigate my needy mother but it's a lot more developed than most INTJs I've met. In the long run, the shit my mother pulled led to a super balance feeling vs thinking. It made me super aware of the dangers of post-truth and the critical necessity to balance facts with emotional experience. Post-truth is very dangerous and why Karens are the way they are. Both science and post-truth are to blame so maintaining a really good balance between evidence and emotional experience has been the key to stabilizing the way I have now. I used to hate looking at my past, but with maturity it's extremely important to know and learn from it so you don't make the same mistakes over and over again. I think emulating and having personas are different tho. I've definitely emulated before, but I prefer to take on full personas that are completely different from mine. It's like embodying a character vs pretending to be slightly different. Being a therapist is super taxing for someone like me, but with practice the personas can somewhat start to feel real and you can hold them longer with practice. The mind is very strange.

"For the Lord has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind." -------------- How about both aspirational and frightening? If beating my fear means going into my (ESFP) subconscious, then I need to develop a performing persona and go really out there with it. I'm not afraid of looking stupid, but I am terrified of looking foolish. To master it, I'd have to go out of my way to look foolish again and again until the shame went away. It scares me to death. I want the result without going through the process.

So basically the demon function opposes the hero by pointing out the insecurities and saying "hey, if you let me take over, I can take care of those insecurities" and if that doesnt work, "you know, the nemesis is right, you should be worried, you need me" The demon function is basically trying to convince you that it's the easy way to overcome your fear/worry... when really it's only the easy way out of maturity. Is this correct?

I think I am doing okay moving into unconscious... I am a teacher and in this role just trying it out and not worrying about the outcome has helped heaps. Still working on the subconscious...not too bad when I am not stressed, but finding the motivation to just do it when I am is hard.

You should create a series about children/parents types compatibility and the affect it has on a child's growth/relationship with their family. My theory is that if your parents hero is the same as your child's demon, its going to push the child into their unconscious. I devised this purely based on the below (typical of me). i'm an INTJ and in my childhood, I think I was pushed to my unconscious too much as i have both an ISTJ mother and sister. I think that dominance of Si in my household and need to uphold these traditional values and the judgement i would get for not doing so pushed me there when in reality, i had no idea why these traditions even existed in the first place. I put on a facade to make it look like i was doing the right things by being vague and not giving details (my unconscious) and just never telling them anything i did that would make them think i wasn't following these "rules." I'd wait for them to find out and approach me if they disapproved so i didn't have to live up to whatever preconceived notion they had if they didn't find out. I really only felt like myself when i was in my own head, chatting online, and playing video games with people. I didn't have any close friends either (in person) as i thought that they would hold me to these same standards which turns out to be so wrong because i had so many people in my life that cared about me. But I felt so ingenuine which never allowed me to develop real relationships with people which limited my capabilities of ever exploring my subconscious as i needed to experience things to get me there. It wasn't until i moved out that i could let myself be me and this was the intention I had to just take a leap and risk it at 21 where i knew i could just start over (my superego!). I found people who just appreciated me for being me by doing so and have found a way to explore my subconscious through having an ENTP boyfriend who enables me to be comfortable to explore. I'm in a point of my life where I can help grow these relationships i never felt genuine about by understanding this. But sometimes man, i just don't feel motivated to work on this because its so energy draining... i now wonder if this happened only because my mother was partial of being judgmental as she may have never confronted her inferior/ nemisis functions and truly matured in exploring all four sides of herself as an ISTJ.... hmmm...will need to use my critic to see if this is true as it may add another factor into my theory :P

Firstly, thank you for the work that you put into this! Secondly, not that you much care haha, but I'm proud of you for taking a dump on your "starter" type, and continuing with the videos. That said, your spiritual blindness is profound! You quoted Jesus in the most backwards possible way. To lose your life is for the Gospel sake, i.e., take up your cross and suffer, and you will gain spiritual/eternal life. That's what that passage is saying. It's saying deny your flesh aka the demon. Yes, starve it... The reason people do what they are told not to do is because they sit there and think, "I can't do this, I won't do this." Stop thinking about it!!! It's that simple...

So, I've learned I'm wasting my time with the ESTJ in my life. Shallow, nymphos that do not know what they want!? Sounds like some high school level crap I don't want to go through. I went through high school once and that was enough for me. What a damn shame. -INTJ

As an INTP, i can remember a time where i tapped into my ENTJ unconscious unknowingly. I was playing a game called Squad instead of doing my homework (so INTP i know). So, this is a multiplayer team pvp realistic military shooter where two teams of 50 players divided into squads trying to beat the other team. At the head of the each squad is a squad leader and in this round, our squad leader left the game and i was promoted to squad leader by rng. Well, i got no experience from my Si child about squad leading and i asked my squad mates "Who want's to be the squad leader?" and no one wanted to do it i had to. Now, i said that i went into my unconscious but i am not really sure about that since i am kind of new to this jungian thing. But i digress, because my Si got nothing i asked my squad "any suggestions on what we should do then? This is my first time squad leading and i don't know what to do." and thankfully someone got a suggestion so i listened to him and and other suggestions that were given and we somehow we won that round. I gotta say that was a nice experience.

Is gainng access to all four sides the feeling of a open creative happy mind, multitasking becomes simple and easy like things flow. I describe it as all my cylinders are running and I am discovering how to enter that state and to me it is becoming easier and easier. I can flow cretiveness and even get others to a state of excitement and openess where they leave me smiling and laughing and have heaps to think about with ideas. I seem to burnout later on in the day as its like an exercise of my mind and right now Im falling asleep while watching your video, not that it is boring but that I having been firing on all cylinders throughout the day and after some food and a rest I am starting to fire back up again. Im typing very fast and I could type forever. I have already wrote 6 to 6 pages in my journal this morning about my experience, I had to have a break as my hand hurt and now I am going to need to slow down because I wont sleep well tonight if I over burn. If this is what its like to have all four side going at once I think I am getting good at it and beleive I can get others to see these sides. If this isnt all four and 2 or threee than holy santa claus shit, I dont know If I can handle anymore power into the old engine at this stage. I feel like I am getting naturally high and its gets faster and faster but is peacefull and loving all at the same time. I could think of anything to get me anything but I just want to do good and get the best out of people instead of make money and whatever that all means. Last night I thought if I stare at the sun for a safe period of time I could than draw a perfect circle by free hand lol. How cool is that to think of? Im going to stop because Im building energy from this typing and discussing of free thought. If only someone would put wires on my brain so I could see the screen light up like a tree or prove me wrong and see a sad dull screen. I apologize for the poor grammar and spelling. I am not that educated but I am understanding that I know nothing to allow me the learning of what I want to learn and I would like to be a better writer. I also had to live the side of me that I was not comfy with and I thought that was me but I am learning that I am my best when I look to the sides that I am scared to look. I am scared and my fears are stronger when I get scared and do nothing so by looking into my fears I am finding the fears a settling down and I like my fears. Also mental abusing people into wisdom is as bad as bashing people into being better. No sort of intelligence comes in the form to force anything onto or into anyone. guide not teach. The truth can be told but I use my own experince to see that I learn my best when I fail in my own way not by someone trying to get me to be someone. The journey is for the individual not for anyone to make that journey for others.

@@CSJoseph It is a beautiful thing to disagree. Just because I disagree with you on something does not make it that you are wrong (:) Thank you for a respectful reply to let me know you disagree instead of an aggressive response. Why so much attention to a demon when you have a guardian angel who is way more powerful. Anyway, I do see your point, I have had to let go of several abusive people in my life or at least keep them at an arms length. The thing is, that I finally did it and i was setting my world on fire. It was a very hard thing to do, but necessary, for me at least. Now, it is important for me to watch your videos to know what I need to do. The videos have been super helpful. First, I discovered that I am an INFP and not an INFJ, which I thought I was for ages. I want to learn about other people’s personalities to be able to handle whatever situation comes my way. It’s very important. Thank you for these lessons. They’re addicting.

Chase. I know this was in 2018. I watch between your new and old stuff back and forth, and my Introverted Intuition is putting together the journey between the Chase that started this channel, and the Chase that is frustrated that the collective Extroverted Thinkers that are suffocating your message. I'm not done learning from what you've crafted here yet, but with my decades of experience in writing and game design, to me this is just another problem I feel qualified to help solve. Through my ISTP subconscious I was forced to live in, I hated myself, but I feel like that hate and misunderstanding forced me down this avenue to learn how the 'design' of communication ACTUALLY works. And to be honest with you, Chase. You're correct here. Or at least you're the closest so far. I do see a few holes sometimes, but I let them go until I finish everything you've put out, and I've seen your full picture. I respect this one-sided mentorship that way. Please, just no matter what happens, leave your content up. Because I'm going to need your resources to mentor once I've fully grasped it.

I found it very interesting what you mentioned about the super ego. Sorry if I am giving too much info here, but I have been trying to understand things more clearly. INFJ here. I have had 2x NDE's, a lot of spiritual/paranormal stuff, and multiple complex traumas. EMDR and other therapies have not worked. So, I have looked for alternatives to understanding. I have really taken advantage of learning as much as I can from your videos to try to understand my "nature" so I can be successful in repairing the "nurture". Any way you can do a video on how the functions and cognitive states react and adapt to trauma?

Hey Chase! This was an awesome video. I have a video suggestion: If you could do a video on how abuse or psychological torture affects cognitive transitions for people (possibly with some real-life examples) that would be great. The big question would be that if a person was put in a situation where despite transitioning to the four sides of the mind, the desired outcome was not achieved, what would the person do? I'm really curious on that front. To my knowledge, this is a hypothetical situation. Feel free to disagree with me and let me know if a situation like this has happened in reality. A video on this subject matter would definitely be an interesting one!

Istp here! I love your directness and approach. I was having a look at your coaching videos. I would love to have a session with you however as a business owner I can’t make sense of how you came to those ridiculous prices. Do you think you’re Tony Robbins? What expenses do you have that helped you come to those prices? It sure as hell isn’t pro audio and video gear or the education to operate that gear. I’m also an audio engineer. Since I can’t afford your coaching would you be willing to trade knowledge and work? Sorry for the brutal honesty lol

can you transition from your subconscious to unconscious? directly? Sometimes I get the feeling that I do that and it only confused me and put me under the impression that I may have typed myself wrong since it's like the easy transition between ego and super ego, but I checked again and again, I'M STILL CONVINCED I'M INFP and nothing else... For super ego, it depends. I'm an ENFP, so in order to knock me out of ESTP, I kind of have to be overstimulated from sensory information. That's because my demon function is Se. Then I have to introvert to expend energy. Ya, that's the only way I know to get out.
@KamalSingh-zx6rs3 жыл бұрын
Woah, it's been a long time since I commented that. I appreciate your reply! Wdym by worried. Like anxious all the time?
@spannycat23 жыл бұрын
@@KamalSingh-zx6rs it depends on your 6th function. If you're an INTJ then, your worry is based on different possibilities of things going wrong. And also coming up with a million reasons why someone might not like you. If you're shadow INTJ then you are an ENTP. Your worry would then be based on not knowing the future. Or coming to one paranoid conclusion that something is wrong. And ya, I guess, it would be an anxious worry. I'm ENFP, so my worry would be the future and having 1 paranoid conclusion.

In your previous videos, you described the cognitive functions in terms of frames per second to compare the capacity of the functions in relation to each other. How would the capacities change when the mind transitions from ego to subconscious? Would the ESTP ego transitioning to an INFJ subconscious still have a larger "bandwidth" for the Se function than the Ni function? Thanks!
@CSJoseph6 жыл бұрын
its more like subroutines being activated and deactivated with energy still flowing through the entire system. The research just isn't there yet ot know for sure.

As an INTP many ESTPs have thrown their hands up in frustration for not being able to toughen me up. Thanks chase for explaining it is because they were exhausted from being in their INFJ subconscious. Interesting as an INTP ESTPs are my supervisors and INFJs my benefactors in Socionics. So Chase I would have been in an asymmetrical relationship with both of your mentors. Fortunately they did not loose patience with you because I have found ENTPs more assertive and tougher than us INTPs. Why? One big reason is 40 % of ENTPs type as inner (not outer) fear based Enneagram 7s while 74 % of INTPs type as outer fear based Enneagram 5s. Also ENTPs overwhelmingly identify with assertive Enneagram 8s as the body portion of their Enneagram tritype and INTPs with peace loving Enneagram 9s.

Let's talk about introversion vs extroversion. Typically, if I scheduled to be having a lot of alone time, I would plan trips to populated grocery stores, malls, parks etc. to feed off fthat energy. Question: What do you consider talking to yourself? It feels like an extraverted process because, again, it feels more natural to think as if you are having a converasation with something outside yourself.

Can you use your superego for anything else like once you’re integrated? Say you have left everything one or more times, and in a specific task your other 3 sides of the mind don’t give you what you need. For example willpower for an ESFJ? What if the ego doesn’t care that much, and the artist isn’t practical, but you have to go to work or workout or study? Is that using your higher Ni in the super ego to “make yourself” do something? Or what is the way to develop willpower as an a ESFJ.

Let's say you have an ENTP and an INFJ together that are both mature/enlightened.. even though they are opposites ( or any opposite couple) could they then be like a "super couple" because they overcome their fears and worries, they "complete" each other with conscious and subconscious at all times? Just some thoughts... like the spiritual community would a Divine Couple or an Adam and Eve. Or are the frequencies always just based on ego.

Hey Chase , I realized this is the first time I've seen you talk about the subconscious specific to any type Considering that it is the aspirational type and the way to wield it effectively is simply to get over insecurity, do you think you could do this for other types too (specifically INFP) so we can like understand the experience while utilizing the subconscious specific to our type so we can know when we are in the subconscious and what it is for (estp's is for wisdom) and yeah make the world a better place with it :)
