CSX and NS Trains Racing with Special Surprise Engine

Today we have this Cool video of 2 trains racing, one is a Norfolk Southern Train and the other is a CSX Train. also one of these trains has a very special surprise locomotive on it! The trains at the beginning of the video are 2 miles away so it looks like they are slow but they are fast. Filmed on 7/21/15 in Dunkirk NY.

Nice video of two CSX eastbound trains racing each other as they approach and go under the Center Road overpass in Sheridan, New York in 2015. The CSX train on track #2 is a CSX mixed freight while the CSX train on Track #1 was a double stack train with a Norfolk Southern engine in the lead. This video appeared in my list of railfan videos today. (Posted 6 May 2024 at 1259 CDT.)

Lucky! Looks like that NS 1104 has been roaming the lakeshore on CSX for a few days now! I saw him on Saturday leading an oil train east. Looks like the NS slowed down so you could get that shot!

NS train had yellow over flashing green (approach limited). CSX had yellow over I assume red (approach). Meaning the NS had a more favorable speed. I've never been in this area but I'd think that the line goes to single track ahead of the trains meaning the CSX would stop and NS cross over in front of it.
