Taz said, I don't remember where exactly but I think it was a Dynamite after show, that he hated his Royal Rumble debut because he heard the pop and ECW chants and knew he was so over and he was well aware of the history of McMahon that if WWE didn't create you then they were going to bury you. So when the crowd popped for Taz, he knew McMahon wasn't going to push him as much.

Seriously though, there have been other former NXT talents who got pushes up the card sure but for many of them it was just pure dumb luck. Take Becky Lynch for example, if Nia doesn't legitimately punch her so we don't see that iconic image of her with a busted & bloodied up face, there wouldn't have been Becky "Two Belts" as a result. So that overall push that only ended because of her pregnancy announcement would've never have occured.

Neither one of those were on free TV. They were on cable. Free TV back then was , fix, abc, nbc , and cbs, and those channels haven't had wrestling on them since the seventies. Now if you lived in Philadelphia or Atlanta, then I retract my statement, because they were on local affiliates, everywhere else, you had to gave cable.

Dreamer/Tajari/Public Enemy/Dudleyz/Dreamer/Balls Mahoney/Axl Rotten/Corino/Shane Douglas/Whipwreck/Tajari/Saturn should of all been high up midcarders. Guys like Spike/FBI/BWO/Road Kill/Danny Doring/Justin Credible/ shoulda all been successful lower card dudes (Tag titles/hardcore belt/a IC title run here and there/European belt/maybe make a tv title for em/) all woulda and shoulda been given the chance. ECW was amazing back in the day and these are all very talented dudes

It's easy to say that "WWE ruined all these folks" but that's not really true. Some of these guys had other issues and some helped ruin themselves. Can't act like Sabu was an easy guy to work with as he had multiple issues with ECW back in the original run. Some of these guys weren't used correctly, but they have some responsibility in why they weren't used to the best effect.

Fun fact, I saw Public Enemy at a local show when I was 13. At the end of their match they threw HUGE chunks of broken table into the crowd. I got hit in the face with one. I had a pretty sick cut on my face for a while. Was it worth it? Absolutely not. The show stunk. BUT, I did get to meet Mantaur, who was wrestling as Bruiser Mastino. And he's from my hometown, so that's tight.

The Sandman was one of the most shambolic wrestlers I've ever seen, his top rope leg drop is one of the worst things I've ever seen. However he was over as fuck and put in a match with someone who could guide him, he had some damn good matches in ECW. Fast forward to WWE ECW and they teamed him up with a way past his prime "Hacksaw " Jim Duggan and you could see how few shits he gave whenever you looked at his face.

Public Enemy had a bad attitude behind the scenes in WCW and right away in WWE. Raven's look under WWE lights compared to the other two companies, was way off, along with an oversized roster did not help him much. Mike Awesome was basically DOA from the beginning, WWE just needed him for the invasion storyline. He was on Herman's, along with many other people's sh*tlist, so he knew his days were numbered. Also, the roster was humongous, as stated before. It's a shame because he had a lot of talent. I'm surprised he didn't go to NJPW. Or did he? Idk...

Over the years I have in fact noticed that, at least after the Invasion, WWE screwed the ECW guys even more than they did the WCW guys. (And speaking of WCW guys, what the hell happened with Buff Bagwell? A guy like him should have been HUGE in WWE.) When WWE brought back ECW briefly in 2005 and then semi-permanently from 2006 to 2010, I got to learn about all these "classic" stars who were supposedly going to get their due at long last now that they were in WWE. But now, all these years later, I realize that I've almost forgotten some of these guys ever existed! I have an excellent memory, but even I might have forgotten who the Blue Meanie (LOVE that name, by the way!) was if he hadn't been in a match at WWE's Great American Bash and if he hadn't pinned JBL (with Batista's help).

Absolutely. Like him or not, Vince USUALLY at least makes decent business decisions. This wasn't one of them. ECW could have still continued into the 2000s with proper financing. I get that he bought it just to shut down all the competition, but here it seemed like he didn't know what he had. ECW still had such a huge following despite running out of money in it's final days.
